Drove it for a while with no problems but when I stopped it now has a high idle, around 1800rpm. When I turn the AC on it drops to around 900-1000rpm. Do you have any ideas what would be the problem?

hi, nice video! Hi, I have the same car, I cleaned the throttle body with brake cleaner. And since when I start the choke goes down then back up, I think I've adjusted it. Is it possible to solve the problem so that it's like before?
@@petersbackyardbuilds in the car because I'm not a mechanic, I may have been too brutal, but I wonder if it's not the spark plugs because when I changed them I put in champions instead of NGKs( sorry for my bad english)
@@myriks6942is your throttle body electric or one with a wire? If it's electric, you must not force it open or it will require recalibration. If it's one with a wire, you can just pull the wire to have it open up.
@@vsmh96 it's an electric throttle body, it was recalibrated last month at the garage. the whole intake system is new. there is a difference...but it doesn't come from there. On the other hand, when it's very hot and the car has been in direct sunlight, the idle does not hold up well. That's the current problem.
@@myriks6942 you might want to check out the following: 1. Idle valve 2. EGR 3. Spark plugs 4. Spark plug coils It's also normal that the car experiences some random up and downs after cleaning the TB, I suggest you reset the ECU by unplugging your battery for 5 mins. Remove - then + When done put + then - Alarm might sound All these can probably be pinpointed if you use and OBD scanner
Difficult to get a camera in that area as I clearly stated in the video. Pretty simple though, spray plenty of carb cleaner or brake cleaner and scrub with a toothbrush or similar. In regards to making sense, check the second sentence of your comment. Enjoy the videos. Cheers.
You removed and replaced the MAF sensor. Didn't show any cleaning of it 🤷♂️ so how long do you air-dry it? Any warnings on handling it correctly? Nope...Not really informative at all.
Hi Steve, if you use the correct cleaner it’s pretty simple. The parts that shouldn’t be handled are protected within the plastic casing. Not hard, take it out clean it and put it back in really as it’s a alcohol type cleaner so it’s dry almost immediately.
I just changed spark plugs myself with your guide. My check engine light is off now. Thanks a lot Peter. Hoping for more Swift videos in the future. ❤

anyone have a problem of jerking with this engine? the rpm is steady then has a sudden drop and comes back, i replaced the plugs but it didnt help

What did you clean the maf sensor with? Can of air? Also what if you don't clean the maf sensor? Can't get mine un hooked

Looking at the manual it appears you need to take the fuel tank out, it’s a fairly big job.

Never use brake cleaner down the throttle body that is probably what cause the light to come on.

I have a decade younger model of this car, the MAF sensor looks weird. Upon cleaning the throttle body, I had a rough starting as well.
