If you want to get a real grasp at what BTS can do live, you should definitely watch their performance at the MMA 2019 awards, even though it’s an award show they got to perform for 37 mins and they killed it.
I love how you explained the difference between what traditional "lip syncing" is VS a backing track during a performance, because bts definitely do NOT lip sync. They are just very clever with how they produce the audio for the backing track so it moves along with their dance moves/where or where they wouldn't be "out of breath". Thanks again!
Actually these shows edit the performance they sing live 3-4 times and then performe live but when they release the video they edit it mixing different vocal tries.....so I suggest to watch the concert version for proper singing.
Though I'm a lot younger than them since I'm using my mom's account since if I don't, I'll use my data in this account since I only realised it this year that i used hers not mine. Hehhehehe

I liked the respectful and insightful way in which you explained how the performance track works. A lot of people don’t understand it, which is a constant source of frustration for ARMYs...

*Hello! Here is a little interpretation of Dyonisus but still I recommend you to check out a translation first* Firts keep in mind that Dionysus is a God often called Eleutherios, meaning 'the liberator,' because his wine (alcohol), music, and ecstatic dance *freed his followers from self-consciousness and the restraints of society* - Dyonisus also means *born twice* so it's known that BTS it's basing these Map of the Soul albums on the Jungian psychology, and that the "persona" represents the social mask that it shown to the people, this song represents the process of making music, the process of turning into their stage personas, like a *reincarnation* . The Korean word for art is yesul (예술) and the Korean word for alcohol is sul (술) that's why RM says "Art is alcohol too" so instead of telling us to drink alcohol, the lyrics are actually saying "Listen to my song" and " Get crazy about my music". And of course the creative part of making music is a time-consumin difficult process so that's why they mention "pain of the creation" and how they're always on the studio (parties) and when they're finally "drunk" in art, their personas appears and receives names such as “idol” or “artist”, but at the end it is ultimately their own perceptions of themselves that fuel what they do "What does it matter if I’m an idol or an artist?" This is also a clap back to their song "idol" (being an kpop idol has a negative connotation in SK, they're seen as puppets and even if BTS broke the mold of that concept, there's still a fight over the title they should receive ¿idols or artists?) So this song works as an acknowledgement of their personas as part of themselves and also shows their desire of not only making music that people love but also that can be helpful for them, like a method to achieve the *liberation* *Some wordplay and references* - In Korean the word for grapes (포도) is also a term for empty seats at concerts. They're "eating grapes" which references how they're doing sold outs in every stadium. Grapes are also a symbol of Dyonisus -The Dyonisus' Thyrsus, symbol of prosperity, fertility, hedonism, and pleasure/enjoyment in general, is compared to their mics - The "pain of creation" it's referencing for one side, the hard process of making music and also the story of how Dionysus was born - "Born as a Kpop Idol, reborn as an artist" this maybe represents how the perception that the media has over them has change once they've become famous (but as I mentioned before, there's still people that refuse call them artists) again the reincarnation thing it's bc Dyonisus means "born twice" - "The new record is a fight against oneself" because BTS just keep setting and breaking their own records - Hit the Gong and say "onghaeya” (옹헤야) is a Korean exclamation present in traditional folk music. Through the use of this phrase, BTS ensures that elements of South Korean culture remain ever prevalent in their music And also this God represents madness and theater so that explains the amazing live performances! (Please check out the MMA 2019 BTS DIONYSUS LIVE PERFORMANCE) Thanks for the video!
i already said this in another video, but i really really REALLY appreciate how you take the time to comment on how hard bts works for them to be able to produce such high-quality music and performances-not many reactors really put emphasis on that! it also makes it all the more satisfying for a professional to recognize and praise their hard work, musicality and artistry, because a lot of ignorant people call them "overrated" or say that people only like them for their looks just because of their immense popularity, which is definitely not the case. so i'm really glad i found your channel, and i hope to see you make more bts content! ❤ (ps i'd be really glad to see you react to their song "spring day" in the future!)
This is the probably the best reaction to, and explanation of, bts live!! Your respect for them comes through so clearly and it’s such a great way to learn about a part of live music I didn’t know about!!
Since you like this song, please react to their MMA 2019 performance where they perform this song but go even more above and beyond!!! There are lots of elements of greek mythology in that performance and I think you'll really enjoy it :)
We all know BTS uses a backtrack. That's no secret. You kinda have to with how crazy they dance lol. But yeah.. they definitely can't lip sync. And it's totally obvious when they do. You really notice it during their Music videos. They all agree that's one thing they can't do. Thank you for your reaction. I hope you react to more lives cause I know you'll be blown away by how amazing they are.
4:25 True. So those who always thinks Kpop stages are all lip sync are really out of fashion. 9:04 RIGHT!!! I remember there was a episode of Running Man, they ask an idol to show what's the differences between on camera and off camera. And he showed the way they breath when they are on camera. They have to breath slower after finishing the stage to give ending a cool shot. And he showed the way in daily life, they would breath so heavily and barely standing well. That's so funny LOL.
Usually in comeback stages (that’s really common for artists in korea) they use backup vocals like you said, not during the whole thing but they need breaks. In this case they are not just showing vocals, specially for Dionysus the choreo and props are the highlight of the stage. If you want to hear their live vocals react to concert footage or their performances on award shows. Sometimes they sound exactly the same as the track so i get surprised that the vocals are live. I mean we know they don’t need the backup vocals but is going to help them during hard choreo React to map of the soul: 7 ☺️ If you want to learn their names DO NOT trust the hair colors, they changed them a lot
also what you said about them looking like they’re not out of breath when internally they probably are, i’m glad you noticed that!! during their trainee years, they used to practice singing while running on the treadmill to practice stabilizing vocals even when they’re out of breath!!
Your reactions are some if not THE best I've ever seen, because we not only are seeing your reaction as you also end up teaching us stuff (which the way you explain makes it not annoying at all and I love that 💜)
I love how you explain the criticality of the song as well as pointing out parts were a backing track is important to be used. I honestly take it as a compliment (as an ARMY) when people think BTS is not singing live. That just proves how great they are as performers. I appreciate you taking the time to review their songs. This is just the performance part. If people will also start reading the lyrics and understanding the meaning of their songs, i bet you your minds will be blown. If you have more time, try searching for BTS MAMA performances. 😊
OKAY thank you so much for this video, you really made it clear the difference between lip syncing and using a backing track which is very necessary for a performance like this with so much demanding choreo, thank you for reviewing their performance honestly and for your genuine reaction, finally someone who gets what they do. Please keep doing these genuine reviews :)
Everything you said is absolutely true, and I'm glad you explained all that because it shows you know what you're talking about and also how much work it is to put together this type of showmanship... There's an insane amount of work that goes into this by a crew of people, obviously, from fashion to choreography to camerawork but the performers and producers also have to take all of these details into consideration while writing the song and making the performance choices plus preparation training needed to execute it or pre-record it live (what type of mics are needed depending on the song, what jumps or movements require supporting backing track, facial expressions, use of the space, breathe support/endurance, precise timing, etc).
This man might go down as one of the best kpop live reactors out there, army spread his name out there, I think many fans would like to see this video.
Thanks for pointing out the 'taking a break' aspect! Some people think that they lipsynch in live performances, but I've always been able to pick up live vocals in there.
yay I loved it, please react to more of their live stuff. The latest comeback of Black Swan and ON is pretty insane, and their award shows performances as people have mentioned below like MMA 2019, 2018, 2016
BTS are insane when it comes to live performances. They are barely ever off key despite their choreos being more like workout routines, and they just get more and more difficult and demanding with each comeback. One of the members said that Dionysus was especially hard to do and they trained a lot for it, because the extreme body movements during the chorus make it difficult to keep their vocals stable. And you always have to keep in mind that they don't just perform one song for three minutes and leave. In concerts, they do up to five songs in a row without a break, and even if there's not always choreo, they have to keep up their energy and hype the crowd. And at music show recordings, they will usually do a lot of takes to make sure everything looks and sounds as good as possible. Yet despite all that, they only use a backing track instead of taking the easy route and lip synch. They really are world class performers, and I'm glad more and more people are acknowledging that
i love seeing you react to bts. its cool to hear what you have to say about there vocals. thankyou for checking them out! also i love all your album reviews!

When I first got into BTS, I felt that their songs were good, but after seeing their live performances and learning about hardships and personalities it’s hard not to get hooked
I liked the respectful and insightful way in which you explained how the performance track works. A lot of people don’t understand it, which is a constant source of frustration for ARMYs...
I loved this reaction. You should do more of BTS' live performance, they own the stage.
Definitely check out the “BTS high notes and falsettos” video. It’s the best way to get an idea of their live vocals.
you have to watch their MMA 2019 Dionysus Performance. It's their best performance ever. you'll enjoy it.
There are backstage videos or documentaries that showed them dying for air and sometimes collapsing after shows like this. til the camera cuts, they would hold on for the last pose, hiding their breath and keeping the show.
Profesionalism👏👏
I like you. You actually know how to react and I like it. Keep up with the good work. I'm gonna check out your other videos now
*Hello! Here is a little interpretation of Dyonisus but still I recommend you to check out a translation first*
Firts keep in mind that Dionysus is a God often called Eleutherios, meaning 'the liberator,' because his wine (alcohol), music, and ecstatic dance *freed his followers from self-consciousness and the restraints of society*
- Dyonisus also means *born twice* so it's known that BTS it's basing these Map of the Soul albums on the Jungian psychology, and that the "persona" represents the social mask that it shown to the people, this song represents the process of making music, the process of turning into their stage personas, like a *reincarnation* . The Korean word for art is yesul (예술) and the Korean word for alcohol is sul (술) that's why RM says "Art is alcohol too" so instead of telling us to drink alcohol, the lyrics are actually saying "Listen to my song" and " Get crazy about my music". And of course the creative part of making music is a time-consumin difficult process so that's why they mention "pain of the creation" and how they're always on the studio (parties) and when they're finally "drunk" in art, their personas appears and receives names such as “idol” or “artist”, but at the end it is ultimately their own perceptions of themselves that fuel what they do "What does it matter if I’m an idol or an artist?" This is also a clap back to their song "idol" (being an kpop idol has a negative connotation in SK, they're seen as puppets and even if BTS broke the mold of that concept, there's still a fight over the title they should receive ¿idols or artists?)
So this song works as an acknowledgement of their personas as part of themselves and also shows their desire of not only making music that people love but also that can be helpful for them, like a method to achieve the *liberation*
*Some wordplay and references*
- In Korean the word for grapes (포도) is also a term for empty seats at concerts. They're "eating grapes" which references how they're doing sold outs in every stadium. Grapes are also a symbol of Dyonisus
-The Dyonisus' Thyrsus, symbol of prosperity, fertility, hedonism, and pleasure/enjoyment in general, is compared to their mics
- The "pain of creation" it's referencing for one side, the hard process of making music and also the story of how Dionysus was born
- "Born as a Kpop Idol, reborn as an artist" this maybe represents how the perception that the media has over them has change once they've become famous (but as I mentioned before, there's still people that refuse call them artists) again the reincarnation thing it's bc Dyonisus means "born twice"
- "The new record is a fight against oneself" because BTS just keep setting and breaking their own records
- Hit the Gong and say "onghaeya” (옹헤야) is a Korean exclamation present in traditional folk music. Through the use of this phrase, BTS ensures that elements of South Korean culture remain ever prevalent in their music
And also this God represents madness and theater so that explains the amazing live performances! (Please check out the MMA 2019 BTS DIONYSUS LIVE PERFORMANCE)
Thanks for the video!
The MJ technique is exactly what comes to my mind as well when watching them perform. It's all calculated but in such authentic manner. IT IS ART!
i already said this in another video, but i really really REALLY appreciate how you take the time to comment on how hard bts works for them to be able to produce such high-quality music and performances-not many reactors really put emphasis on that! it also makes it all the more satisfying for a professional to recognize and praise their hard work, musicality and artistry, because a lot of ignorant people call them "overrated" or say that people only like them for their looks just because of their immense popularity, which is definitely not the case. so i'm really glad i found your channel, and i hope to see you make more bts content! ❤ (ps i'd be really glad to see you react to their song "spring day" in the future!)
This is the probably the best reaction to, and explanation of, bts live!! Your respect for them comes through so clearly and it’s such a great way to learn about a part of live music I didn’t know about!!
Really appreciate your BTS reactions! :) Thank you for appreciating them.
Since you like this song, please react to their MMA 2019 performance where they perform this song but go even more above and beyond!!! There are lots of elements of greek mythology in that performance and I think you'll really enjoy it :)
THANK YOU FOR REACTING THIS SONG! AND THANK YOU FOR EVEN ACKNOWLEDGING THE BOYS THEY SING LIVE!!!! U R AWESOME!!
Of course we enjoyed the video! Love your series💜
峎羽 please can u say that runnging man episode ))) or idols name
@@apito8816 Here ua-cam.com/video/5zfxhBw51Ic/v-deo.html
Running Man Ep 503, idol is Jin Hyuk from UP10TION

@@apito8816 You're welcome
I need a reaction to BTS’s MMA 2019 performance because that was WORLD CLASSSSSS
Ah been waiting for thiss! Thankyou for the honest reaction blake! Cant wait for another reaction bts album & live from u!! 💜💜
I WAS WAITING FOR THIS OSNDNKDL
Love that you appreciate their hardwork.
Thank you for the vocals and backing track explanation! Always enjoy your videos!
Loving all your videos, Blake! Dirty Laundry is amazing by the way! - PLAYING IT ON REPEAT!!!
Thank you for this amazing live performance reaction! Wow... I hope you do more live reactions. Your insight was great!
I mean we know they don’t need the backup vocals but is going to help them during hard choreo
React to map of the soul: 7 ☺️
If you want to learn their names DO NOT trust the hair colors, they changed them a lot
also what you said about them looking like they’re not out of breath when internally they probably are, i’m glad you noticed that!! during their trainee years, they used to practice singing while running on the treadmill to practice stabilizing vocals even when they’re out of breath!!
Thanks for this reaction. 😁
I enjoy how in depth you get about certain things. Your show sounds super cool!
yess!!! another reaction to BTS!!! ♡
Your reactions are some if not THE best I've ever seen, because we not only are seeing your reaction as you also end up teaching us stuff (which the way you explain makes it not annoying at all and I love that 💜)
omg whn it comes out to BTS u rly have to check out their MMA and MAMA full live performances, its gonna blow you off! 😭😭 love ur reactions BTW
Thank you so much for making this, I’m so in love with the way you explained everything 🥰
As a producer you should watch their MMA performance from 2019(it's 37mins long but it's amazing) and it's got Greek Mythology parts in it too.
Can we appreciate how Blake hypes up all the artists he reacts to 😌💗
been waiting for dis 😄😅
thankU 😄😄😄😄
Thank you, Blake, for your kind words and your open mind!! I love your reactions, hope to see more bts soon 💜
You should more of their live performances cause I love watching you react to them
You should react to “your eyes tell -BTS live “ it shows their vocal talents
I love your room’s aesthetic! Top notch interior design~. Thank you for these explanations! They are always really interesting.
When you said you loved the high note i cant help but laugh
Literally, Jin was asked to get in the booth and scream 🤣
"You still have to breath"
BTS: Breath? Never heard of it
You should react to their 2019 mama stage ( it’s an award show performance and it’s insane!!)
yay I loved it, please react to more of their live stuff. The latest comeback of Black Swan and ON is pretty insane, and their award shows performances as people have mentioned below like MMA 2019, 2018, 2016
I love your bts reactions i learned soo much more because of you 😍😍
Im here for Blake saying BTS "crazy "talented
They really are world class performers, and I'm glad more and more people are acknowledging that
I was waiting for you to react to their live performance for Dionysus ❤️ it’s one of their hardest choreo’s btw
I was waiting for this..Thank youuuuu!
Thank you for explaining the difference between lip syncing and singing with a backing track!!
I didn't know all of the stuff about backing tracks. I'm actually relieved because I always worried about them not managing their oxygen live.
i love seeing you react to bts. its cool to hear what you have to say about there vocals. thankyou for checking them out! also i love all your album reviews!
