I think the more people understand the sheer amount of talent and hard work it takes to be able to do anything even remotely close to what these boys manage day in day out, the better. Then there's no poppy delusions and more people can truly appreciate their artistry and how high they've set the bar for all of their peers in the industry.

thank you for recognizing how important having a support track is for them when they have to do choreo as well. what they do is really an extreme sport, it's a lot to balance. if someone is just dancing they can just breathe where they need to, but bts have to balance breathing for singing as well as choreo which is why they often get a few puffs of oxygen back stage to make sure their bodies have all the oxygen they need - - and obviously things can go wrong, like the Chile concert you mentioned. you can't fully know everything your body is up to, you may not realize you aren't up to it until it's too late for example so yeah sometimes people don't realize what a necessary safety net that support track is so they can manage their energy etc so thanks for the acknowledgment lol

I'm a newer ARMY too, and there's stuff I definitely want to watch/rewatch. There's so much content that I find myself a little overwhelmed sometimes especially since I can't watch most of it while multitasking.
They have a track on the earpiece. It’s the ear monitor, it helps you to listen better the song/track so you know exactly where to sing, stop and breathe. Something singers do and maybe them too is that you hear parts of the lyrics on the song. The start, and the ending so you know and don’t get lost. For example, the song starts with JK so I’ll be like: “Smooth like (track)...” “ ...undercover...” “make it into your...” “break it down” “ side step right left...” And on and on. But only THEY can hear that. Some fan made a version of that but with Dynamite it was pretty awesome

Hey Blake, I work in the Asian music industry and from what I can tell you about Kpop live performances, especially BTS lives like these, they record live performances in various sets and then the editing team stitches them together. Of course, they use a backing track but it's so quiet that it doesn't even matter. Basically, a video like this requires them to perform live at all these sets (either fully or partially) and then the editing team works their magic. In short, yes, the vocals are live and not pre-recorded. Kpop industry looks down upon lip-syncing, even though its okay. I mean, every artist needs to rest their vocal chords once in a while. But, since there is so much stigma around it in Korea, they might use an MR from time to time, but a group like BTS will NEVER lipsync. It's a matter of pride as well.

Regarding the concert documentary films and series, they really wanted to show as much as they possible could but there was still some things they were not being allowed to reveal. TXT is another KPop group from the same label as BTS. Their entire discography has plentyyy of genres for you to dive into. Their most recent was a song that RM even wrote lyrics for. Oh they sing live they even are known for suddenly doing things to prove it eg Suga has often stopped and held the mic down and you hear nothing. There's one time that Jimin's voice cracked while singing at one of their concerts and he was crying back stage because he felt he'd 'messed up'

Wow. I am new BTS fan here. I've heard of them a few years back but haven't got time to listen to them because of work. Since I just resigned from work and got time more for myself, I decided to check what the hype is all about. I m completely blown away by the talents these 7 boys have. It was my nephew who told me all about them. I am a new ARMY here. All the way from Cebu, Philippines.
You're right, there's absolutely a backing track (much lower in volume) for some parts, such as the transitions. Where Jin drops off for the lyrics 'I got ya', you can tell it quite clearly. I think you can most obviously tell that they're signing live with members like Jin, Suga, or RM, because of the way they pronounce ceetain words. There is often quite a lot of breathiness on the mics. I hardly ever hear that with JK, Tae, or Jimin, but obviously that's because all pronounce things differently. That also totally showcases their talent and professionalism - it's incredible that they sound so like the original audio that you can only tell by little things that they're singing live.
Nobody is questioning that they are singing live, but there is definitely post production (both audio and visual), and backing track because it's pre-recorded. I see it as them making the most of not being able to perform in person. Instead of wowing a live audience with a one-take live performance, they're able to take advantage of having full control of the performance before it's released and they are using that opportunity in order to create a more "finished" product to wow us using top of the line technology and visuals for remote performances. It's not a bad thing, and it's not even necessary, but you can tell a difference between when it's pre-recorded, or when they're actually performing in real-time, like for their GMA performance ua-cam.com/video/Nj2v9JnuCCQ/v-deo.html. Which even WITHOUT the post-prod still sounds great, but you can clearly tell when they have it.
Oh my god after you finished the burn the stage series if you have time, you have to watch their newest movie which was released in 2020 called BREAK THE SILENCE- THE MOVIE film. Which is about the persona they created and the fine line of the person they like to be perceived and the real them sometimes they get it all mixed up. I feel like this is one of the more in depth movie of BTS where bts kind of go candid because it's more introspective and you learn more about each individual member. No lie, i cried in this movie haha!
Do you think its better to react to the movie or the whole series? Ive not yet seen the series, but in Burn the stage and Bring the soul the series went much more deep and the movie was more like a compilation of the series.

Kpop industry looks down upon lip-syncing, even though its okay. I mean, every artist needs to rest their vocal chords once in a while. But, since there is so much stigma around it in Korea, they might use an MR from time to time, but a group like BTS will NEVER lipsync. It's a matter of pride as well.

for other kpop groups i would definitely recommend both enhypen and tomorrow by together! they are both kpop groups under the same label as bts (hybe labels) and they both have amazing discographies and performances!

Regarding the concert documentary films and series, they really wanted to show as much as they possible could but there was still some things they were not being allowed to reveal. With that said, from their debut on AMAs to MMAs taking over the stage on top of winning several awards in a row for four consecutive years; it is fair to say Lol they basically own those award shows 😎

There are no official positions for them thats why they're so unique, positions like rapper dancer singer aren't there cuz each one of them are all in one and each one of them hss their own uniquesinging style, rapping style and out of this world dancing capabilities, their ability to write poetry in songs are majestic. They also have great songs which are amazingly produced, they also self produce. They are currently experimenting on different types of genres thats why they don't have a go to type of music. They recreated the billboard set, just like they did at the Grammys. So there were about 4-5 sets for this song. Someone commented that the big, lighted ball at the end might represent and ARMY bomb. Interesting thought. You’ve heard, I’m sure, that they sometimes practice singing while running on a treadmill to make sure their voice are stable when they move. Also, sometimes BTS, especially at concerts, stop singing a line of a song to prove that they’re singing live.

TXT is another KPop group from the same label as BTS. Their entire discography has plentyyy of genres for you to dive into. Their most recent was a song that RM even wrote lyrics for. Pop, rock, ballad, edm, alternative, they have it all. I got into them through Eternally which the first time that you listen, it'll give you a whiplash !!!

Regarding a recommendation, I suggest Kim Hyun Joong, he has a great diversity of well known songs throughout his career (first when he was part of the famous band SS501, then his solo projects and now. I particularly love his Japanese songs, but the same goes to BTS 😅 he recently did a chill cover of Despacito too). Would really appreciate if you gave him a try and listened 2 songs of him🥰
Oh they sing live they even are known for suddenly doing things to prove it eg Suga has often stopped and held the mic down and you hear nothing. There's one time that Jimin's voice cracked while singing at one of their concerts and he was crying back stage because he felt he'd 'messed up'

You're right, there's absolutely a backing track (much lower in volume) for some parts, such as the transitions. Where Jin drops off for the lyrics 'I got ya', you can tell it quite clearly.
I think you can most obviously tell that they're signing live with members like Jin, Suga, or RM, because of the way they pronounce ceetain words. There is often quite a lot of breathiness on the mics. I hardly ever hear that with JK, Tae, or Jimin, but obviously that's because all pronounce things differently.
That also totally showcases their talent and professionalism - it's incredible that they sound so like the original audio that you can only tell by little things that they're singing live.

They sing live. I know it's hard to believe but they've done live recordings since day 1. Don't second guess it too much.
Nobody is questioning that they are singing live, but there is definitely post production (both audio and visual), and backing track because it's pre-recorded. I see it as them making the most of not being able to perform in person. Instead of wowing a live audience with a one-take live performance, they're able to take advantage of having full control of the performance before it's released and they are using that opportunity in order to create a more "finished" product to wow us using top of the line technology and visuals for remote performances.
It's not a bad thing, and it's not even necessary, but you can tell a difference between when it's pre-recorded, or when they're actually performing in real-time, like for their GMA performance ua-cam.com/video/Nj2v9JnuCCQ/v-deo.html. Which even WITHOUT the post-prod still sounds great, but you can clearly tell when they have it.
Bts is really a great group you will find different types of genres and you will never get bored of them

Oh my god after you finished the burn the stage series if you have time, you have to watch their newest movie which was released in 2020 called BREAK THE SILENCE- THE MOVIE film. Which is about the persona they created and the fine line of the person they like to be perceived and the real them sometimes they get it all mixed up. I feel like this is one of the more in depth movie of BTS where bts kind of go candid because it's more introspective and you learn more about each individual member. No lie, i cried in this movie haha!
Do you think its better to react to the movie or the whole series? Ive not yet seen the series, but in Burn the stage and Bring the soul the series went much more deep and the movie was more like a compilation of the series.
