ive never heard someone talk about how difficult it is to eat before something big or when anxiety is high, and its something ive been really struggling with, so bailey, thank you so so much for making me feel seen, i love you.
im the exact same way. i could never eat before baton competitions, doctor appointments, dates, etc. i would get so nauseous and any food made me close to vomiting. just like you said, ive never heard anyone talk about it! unlike bailey, i literally can NOT force myself to eat no matter how hard i try.
bailey this might be the best video you have ever made. I too have struggled so much with the negative side effects of birth control and I am so happy u decided to talk about this!! thank you for being so vulnerable and real, i think it will help more people than you realize!!
Istg Bailey is like the older sister I always wanted but never had! Thank you so much for sharing your story because it’s so rare to hear of people ppl talking openly abt periods and birth control
as someone who had a year of perfect experiences on birth control and then all the sudden the SAME thing happened to her, thank you for sharing this. i feel normal
As someone who got an IUD in june after struggling with hormonal BC pills and all the side effects, aside from the bad cramping (different type of pain than period cramps) it has been a GAMECHANGER! don't let the bad reviews scare you, only you will know how it will effect your body, every single aspect is different for everyone
im 15 and have only gotten my "period" once in 8th grade, and here i am 10th grade and havent gotten it since. i have an appointment to have tests done to see whats wrong next month. but thank you bailey for being so open and like a big sister🤍
I have one and it’s the worst pain everrrrr but I think it’s so worth it for my needs, however they def need to work on pain meds for gyno procedures!!!! women’s health is so important thank you for this!!
Thank you for making this video Bailey!! I love to hear other girls stories and it needs to be normalized! I was on the pill for only a year and gained 20 pounds and my emotions were out of control and I knew it had to be the pill. This past January I got an IUD and while it was one of the most painful experiences, it helped balance out my body so much and I feel like myself again. Thank you for sharing your experience I know it is helping so many people!
Thank you so freaking much!! I took the pill, and it made me depressed and totally not like myself. I was worried the IUD would do the same, so it kinda put me off from getting it. ❤❤ I really appreciate you!!
Thank you so much for posting this! I am in fact getting an IUD tomorrow and this video helped ease my fears tremendously. Thank you for being so open!
Thank you so much for being so honest and straight forward in this video because I have soooo many questions comments and concerns about pursuing long term birth control that’s not something I can just stop taking or take off on my own. Girlhood is amazing sometimes and terrifying other times, and I don’t have a lot of girl friends so navigating my 20’s and this kind of stuff has been intense. Your insight is def. appreciated
i love that you’re educating others on these topics and i wish i would’ve had this video when i was younger. i started on the pill when i was 15 because of super heavy bleeding and insane cramps and i was constantly switching pills every couple of months. they would work for a few months then i’d have excruciating cramps for a week and it was starting to affect my moods as well. it eventually got to a point where i bled for 2 months straight and i knew i needed to switch. at 18 i got the skyla iud which is specifically made for younger adults and teens and is much smaller and lasts 3 years. i went in expecting the worst and it honestly i’ve had worse cramps than the pain i felt from insertion. i had some minor cramping and spotting for a week after and since then it has been great. i’ve had it for a little over a year now and my cycles have been short and regular with very minor cramps that only last a couple minutes. i feel like im also in the best mental state i have been in and i don’t experience very many mood swings on my period. i highly recommend this iud for teens and i hope my story could help others:)
Thank you so much!! I get such bad cramps that I throw up every month and sometimes end up in the er because my body's so dehydrated from throwing up for 2 days straight. So I don't think this should be as bad! ❤❤ I'm getting it in a month
bailey, it's so nice to see someone being so real about their experiences with birth control! i completely agree with everything you're feeling and going through. as a 25 year old who's been on birth control for so much of their teenage/young adult life, i struggle with deciding whether or not to keep going with it. thanks for being so real about these types of issues.
When I was 13 I found out I had a MASSIVE ovarian cyst, and we started tracking it and it only got bigger. To get rid of it I had to either go on birth control, or surgery. The surgery would have damaged my uterus/ovaries because of my young age, meaning I wouldn’t be able to have kids or anything. After a year of birth control the cyst went away. I think it is just important to be aware of how useful and effective birth control can be. And how it was necessary for people in situations like me
My procedure with an IUD was probably the most awful pain I’ve felt in my entire life, but one of the best decisions I have made for myself😊 your strong you can do this💕
Bailey you have no idea how grateful I am that you made this video ❤❤ I don’t know much about this stuff so thank you so much for helping me. You seem so genuinely passionate about this sort of thing and it makes me so happy to see
I recently got a pap and the cramping from it has been insane omg. I recently got off birth control because I’ve been struggling with infections too. I also have been diagnosed with thyroid issues. This was a perfect timing video for me Bailey. I’m so thankful for this
Pro tip: when I got mine, it didnt hurt AT ALL. My dr said it’s because my appointment happened to fall the day after my period ended so my cervix was still slightly dilated. Soooo maybe try that if you’re super scared of the pain.
this is so so valid. I've had a very similar experience, I was on a combined pill for 5 years before having negative symptoms.. turns out I was passing out and having mini-strokes due to the estrogen in the pill and it not being compatible with migraines. My childhood doctor failed to recognize this and never blamed the pill, even though he prescribed me this pill at the age of 14 knowing I'd always had migraines. I learned this after visiting another doctor, and that's when I started a progesterone-only pill called Slinda which has worked way better with my body, it has caused me to lose excess weight, improved my fatigue and mental health. definitely invest in what works for you, its worth it in the long run!
There's certainly no need to feel embarrassed. These informative videos are necessary for other ladies to hear first hand how the IUD insertion really is. I'm proud of you for being brave and sharing your personal authentic experience. Since iuds have a slight risk of causing pelvic inflammatory disease it's recommended I don't get one because I had pelvic inflammatory disease few years ago. And once you have it once it's more likely to get it again. I had a TOA which is the end results of pelvic inflammatory disease so I had to have surgery to remove some of my parts but basically half are left.
I probably watched every video ever before my procedure! My best advice is to talk with your gyno about all the pain management tools that can be used during the procedure. As someone with a lot of autoimmune and chronic pain we wanted to be extra cautious since my pain receptors are extra sensitive. We decided to do a torrodol shot 20 minutes before the procedure. This made me feel like cloud 9 and my normal chronic illness pain went away. I normally take this in pill form when I am experiencing a really bad flare. When it was time for the actual procedure, she gave me a cervical block. This was a quick sting and cramp and my cervix and then I literally felt nothing for the rest of the procedure. GAME CHANGER! The first couple days I barely for cramps but around day 6 to day 14 I had the most extreme cramps/contractions. It was something that I never felt before. Buttttt don’t let that scare you, after the two week mark we were golden. Me and my iud are friends now and she has literally been great. I am still spotting about a month after getting it inserted. I am still really happy with my decision! Just remember everyone body reacts differently❤️
My boyfriend (who's now my ex and has been for 3 weeks) and I went all the way to having sex, we were together for a year and a half, and I had at least 3 pregnancy scares. Mind you, as 18 year olds, we were dumb and decided to have sex multiple times without protection! I don't recommend it, I may (MAY) not be able to have my own kids so I didn't worry enough to actually have pregnancy scares to when I actually had some I freaked out. I would get on the pill but I am just so afraid of what my body will do. I suffered heavily with depression, anxiety, and I have ADD. So, watching this truly made me feel good. Sorry for ranting!
I would like to point out that post vaginal birth with my daughter in January. They prescribed 600 mg ibuprofen to be taken twice, that's 1200 mg so that just shows how painful and IUD is that they're prescribing a similar dose of ibuprofen just for insertion, which is so painful I would compare it to the same pain that I experienced on a cervical sweep towards the end of my pregnancy, and when I tell you that shit hurt, that SHIT HURT!!! The bleeding and cramping was insane. Women are so strong & it's insane that we don't receive at the minimum laughing gas, for IUD insertion & removal.
wow bailey, this was actually really informative. as someone who has had pretty bad cramps whenever i'm on my period for the first 4 days, to the point where sometimes i struggle to stand up and walk because i feel like fainting/seeing stars, i have always wondered if i should go to my doctor and ask about possible birth control methods (but still never have because i am genuinely so terrified of what they will say / what they recommend, etc). for context i got my period when i was 11 and my cramps never used to be too bad, like i always had them but they were manageable, however, they have gotten progressively worse as i've gotten older and i'm 17 now. after watching your experience of getting an IUD it makes me feel reassured and makes me feel more comfortable to build up the courage to talk to my doctor about possible birth control methods and dont worry i'll make sure i do my research alongside what my doctor says so i feel extra prepared for whatever they recommend. anyways, so sorry this was long, but thankyou bailey really appreciate your genuine / transparent attitude to things like this that may seem really confronting and uncomfortable and TMI to a lot of people. thankyou for using your platform for not only fun videos but also informative videos like this one! love you ❤
for anyone reading this who is trying to figure out what BC to use, if you're scared of an IUD consider the implant! it's what I have and it's worked great for me. I've heard it's similar to an IUD in terms of effectiveness and symptoms however it's pretty much painless :)
This is an excellent video! I think it is so necessary for people with good experiences with an iud to share their stories, you’re so right that horror stories get shared more often and that makes people scared! They can really benefit people. That said, I am someone who it did not work for lol. Getting it in was absolutely the worst pain of my life. Idk how long I lied there afterward but I’m guessing after 5-10 minutes my doctor was trying to clear the room and get on to her next patient, so her and my mom started walking me down the hall pretty much entirely supporting my weight. Halfway down the hall, my doctor asked me how I was feeling, and I was so close to passing out but I didn’t even have enough in me to say more than one syllable, so what I said was “sick”. They sat me down in another exam room and when I wasn’t getting better for a while, I too was wheeled out of the building. I had intense cramps for many days, but I suppose my regular period cramps were just about as bad. I don’t remember what the bleeding was like initially, but I didn’t have my period for the year I was on it. However, my goal for birth control has always been to control my horrible cramps from my period; that’s the aspect of them I hate, not the bleeding. I had cramps every single day for the entire year that I had the mirena. I knew I wanted it out within a couple months of getting it, but I was so scared because of how painful it was to get in. I had heard it was easier to take out, but I honestly didn’t believe that, so it took me a year of constant cramping to work up the courage to get it out. And oh my god, my body felt like mine again IMMEDIATELY. Also, people were right, getting it out hurt less than a Pap smear for me, I was worked up over nothing! The only other form of birth control I’ve used is the nexplanon, which I do have side effects from (mostly very irregular periods) but my cramps are soooo much less than they were before, so to me it’s worth it. I know so many people who the nexplanon doesn’t work for, but it does for me! Just like how an iud can work for others, and not for me :) thank you so much for sharing your experience!
Thank you so much for making this. i have anxiety with this stuff, and seeing someone going thru it helped me conceptualize how things could go for me. I was unsure, but i have no doubt. I'm definitely going to get an Iud. I'm not as scared of it now❤
Thinking about getting one after years of the pill and this was really comforting. Like a friend walking me through. Thanks for making it seem approachable
thank you so much for posting this video, it helped me sm and educated me. I stopped birth control after only being on it for a few weeks bc of the reaction it had on my body and you saying it was okay made me feel better 💓. Now I might consider an IUD. Thank you sm for the video 💓
i have never heard anyone have the same yeast infection like symptoms, and I've also never thought of corolating them to bc, but this feels like such an older sister conversation, and as the older sister, its refreshing, I'm so here for it, and now am definitely going to be doing some more research of my own
I literally am on the exact same pill that you were on... I had noticed some super strange mood symptoms as well as other symptoms. The yeast infection part is so on point for me as well! So crazy how the other day I literally called my gyno and told them i'm switching to IUD to help my symptoms and my hormone levels were completely off the rocker! This video just validated everything i've been feeling as well as comforted me since im going get my IUD in about a month!
I got an IUD a year ago and I can still remember the pain sometimes and that shizz was by far the WORST pain I have ever gone through in my ENTIRE life.
This gave me such PTSD from getting an IUD. My gyno didn't put it in right and I threw up for 3 hrs straight then had to get it out in the same day. I wish I had documented it like you did for proof of how awful my body rejected it. I also wasn't on any medication for it as I wasn't told to take any
you should make a video about how to have a Winter Arc!!!! Also I LOVE your girl talk videos they are so helpful and I think you should continue to spread awareness about everything you know about down there girl stuff! You should do a video called Doing the Research so you don't have too! I love you bailey!❤
Oh, my! I'm so nervous about watching this video, Bailey! I will forgive myself, and never say what you said, nor do what you just did in front of my parents and everyone else, ever!
i had an iud (mirena) put in mid august this year. i went under anaesthesia due to personal preference. woke up in the worst freaking pain of my life. a month of excruciating pain in my hips, lower back, pelvis and spine and i found out my pelvis bones and ligaments had seperated due to my legs being parted way too far. i had my period for 34 days straight and now have it every week. i also developed a uti from the insertion that took 7 weeks to show up and the pain sent me to the hospital at 5am. 2 months in and im still in the worst pain ive ever been in. 3 hospital trips, dr appointments twice a week. 7 urine tests, 2 stool tests, 5 ultrasounds, my iron levels have dropped drastically and they still refuse to admit they messed up and permanently injured me lols. anyways, loved ur video 😂
I still have my mirena in. It’s working great for me personally. I have a retroverted uterus and so the pain feels a lot worse with the insertion. It was incredibly painful but the most nauseatingly painful part was where they had to crank my cervix open even further to measure it or whatever. No anesthesia. And tbh I’m curious did you go completely under anesthesia? …if so I could swear that that’s a bit unethical since general anesthesia can be very much dangerous and a life or death situation if anything goes slightly awry… usually they don’t even offer anesthesia for smaller procedures like an IUD insertion (even though sometimes I wish they did cause of the insane pain)
@@cyanidesidesalad im not sure of the difference but i had the needle in my arm and they gave me gas lols. the pain is the most excruciating thing ive ever felt, and the doctors keep running different tests but refuse to set up an mri like i hace requested for the past month i do have an unusually small uterus, which is why ive struggled with tampons my whole life. i was expecting some cramping and bleeding, now i have a potentially permanent pelvic injury (i also requested and was approved for anesthesia because i have an old hip injury. i had torn the ligaments and muscles in my right hip when i was 10, so my doctor requested extra precautions)
You’re so lucky you had yours planned 😭 my mom found out I was hanging out with a guy and scheduled me an appointment to get mine THE NEXT DAY but I too was freaking out I think at one point I was crying my eyes out scared for my life(it really wasn’t that bad it was really bad cramping for like 2 minutes and then I was fine) the worst part were the mood swings and cramps that came after the procedure
I completely agree If you want pain relief ASK your doctor and if they refuse find a new doctor! Too many doctors dont give any kind of pain management and you are entitled to it if you feel you need it! Keep in mind its different for everyone, I find the speculum to feel like a crampy pinch and it hurts ALOT for me whereas others dont feel it at all, just remember you know your body and you need to advocate for yourself. Also I was scared to poo too xD I was afraid I was gonna push it out and I had terrible cramps which I thought it would be worse
I have the implant and i threw up and almost passed out the first time i had one put in. I'm on my third and I'm fine with the process now but yeah i wish they could make a long term birth control that didn't involve a whole ass procedure
8:35 ok… same girl same…. It just took me about a decade longer to decide I was done with BC pills. Ever since I stopped I never had that issue again. I personally am not on anything since I feel like at this point in my life if I ended up pregnant it wouldn’t be horrible for me ( I am 30 and comfortable in life so I feel ‘ready’). I would go for an IUD if that changed, I figure the pain I would feel would be worth the comfort of not needed to worry about a daily pill or all the side effects I had.
i used to never want hormonal birth control butttt i got my liletta iud three days after you did bailey!! i got it under anesthesia (bc we should NOT have to go through the bodily trauma of getting it placed without serious pain management!!) it was rough after, i had severe cramping for probably a week or two- but i also had a complication due to the position of my uterus. im so glad i went under anesthesia- it was covered by my insurance too. pls ask ur doctors about the possibility of anesthesia, i had a great experience at the office too. (MN women’s care if you’re around the twin cities) i did spot for probably about a month and a half. i’m supposed to be getting my period now and hoping the spotting fully goes away after my period and i can go back to feeling completely normal in the next two weeks!!
I also go an IUD about a year ago and I had a very similar experience. The pain of getting it wasn't terrible, it was more just uncomfortable. I had terrible cramps for about two weeks, but I normally get bad cramps on my period. Since then I have only gotten my period one time and it has been amazing!
Girl I hope this doesnt get taken the wrong way but I got an IUD back in july and it was so painfull, heavy cramps every period, moodiness, etc. I just recently got it removed. I would keep an eye out for this but it is different for everyone. Love you videos tho girl. keep doing what your doing.
I wish the side effects of birth control were more talked about!! I was on the pill for 4 years and it was amazing at first but a few months later i started having the WORST migraines ever. I had them 3 to 5 times a week and they lasted for the whole day they were even making me nauseous. Sometimes they would last for a few days and as soon as i woke up i knew the rest of my day would go to waste. For the last 2 years i was on birth control, i skipped probably a third of my classes because i couldn't handle the pain. I never really thought that it was my birth control that was causing my migraines since they appeared progressively months after i started. When i went to the doctor, he told me to stop taking the pill to see what happens because he was convinced that it's what was causing them. And just like that, my migraines disappeared almost like magic. I've gotten a few since I stopped taking the pill a little over a year ago but they were never nearly as bad as when i was taking it and now i can always manage them with Tylenol. I was prescribed the pill almost as a miracle solution for birth control, acne and period cramps, so thank you for educating the younger girls that might think it's a solution for every problem.
ive never heard someone talk about how difficult it is to eat before something big or when anxiety is high, and its something ive been really struggling with, so bailey, thank you so so much for making me feel seen, i love you.

I literally live in London and have no plans to be on birth control and yet I watched this entire video - just feels like talking to a friend ♥️
this is crazy real. i don’t have one but i was thinking of forms of birth control and this just feels like a friend with experience giving me advice
No literally thank you so much for posting this. I got an IUD last week and have been needing reassurance with the whole experience
as someone who had a year of perfect experiences on birth control and then all the sudden the SAME thing happened to her, thank you for sharing this. i feel normal

I am terrified but reading this has been helpful. I am planning to get mine next month and am already bad with pain and anxiety.
@ I am too and mine was okay! but it truly is so challenging as everyone’s body reacts entirely differently, best of luck to you!
Love this!! So happy you found something that agrees with your body❤️
"I need my mommy for this" is so real my mommy is my emotional support person/animal/and item I live having her with me for eveything
bailey we’ve been LOVING the longer videos🫶🏼

Your vulnerability is so inspiring, please keep posting the good the bad the ugly of living on your own and the challenges and growth you’ve learned.💛
Thank you so much for posting this! I am in fact getting an IUD tomorrow and this video helped ease my fears tremendously. Thank you for being so open!

Whenever I get super anxious or panicky I lose my appetite tooooo!
As someone who got an iud 3 years ago I literally REFELT the pain watching this. It’s no joke we should be put out thank yewwwww
i get my IUD tomorrow and this video really has helped me. i’m scared but this vid helped me calm down!! thank you!!!

Just like how an iud can work for others, and not for me :) thank you so much for sharing your experience!
this was such a good video I absolutely love how you're making this topic way less taboo
Thank you so much for making this. i have anxiety with this stuff, and seeing someone going thru it helped me conceptualize how things could go for me. I was unsure, but i have no doubt. I'm definitely going to get an Iud. I'm not as scared of it now❤
you the best Bailey , wow this video helped me so much
Thank you so much Bailey for sharing your experience and talking about birth control! I hope the IUD works out well for you 🤍
I think I have PTSD from the I got my IUD, it was literally the worst pain I ever had to experience 😭 im so glad it wasn't that painful for you
YOUR MOM IS SO CUTE AHH I LOVE HER
Thinking about getting one after years of the pill and this was really comforting.
Thank you sm for the video 💓
thank you so much for this video bailey, you’re the type of real i need from the internet
So glad you posted this!!
prays go to you for fully healing!❤
i love how open you are with us! hope your doing well
i have never heard anyone have the same yeast infection like symptoms, and I've also never thought of corolating them to bc, but this feels like such an older sister conversation, and as the older sister, its refreshing, I'm so here for it, and now am definitely going to be doing some more research of my own
Yes I love how real you are in this and yes this is not weird at all you shouldn't have any regrets! Thank you for this video I really liked it!
This video just validated everything i've been feeling as well as comforted me since im going get my IUD in about a month!
love you bailey, this is an amazing video !! also the brown hair was such a power move !!!!!! 🩷
Being a UA-camr doesn’t make you any different from us thanks for sharing
BAILEY I LOVE U FOR SHARING SO MUCH WITH USSS
Girlll you did so good I was screaming crying and my boyfriend who was holding my hand passed out and the nurse caught him😂
I got an IUD a year ago and I can still remember the pain sometimes and that shizz was by far the WORST pain I have ever gone through in my ENTIRE life.
aww i missed mama bailey 😊 i appreciate the realness .. im seriously considering this
Bailey im here for you. Im going through the same thing as you right now. Thank you for everything you do abd say as well. I love you girl ❤❤❤
This gave me such PTSD from getting an IUD. My gyno didn't put it in right and I threw up for 3 hrs straight then had to get it out in the same day. I wish I had documented it like you did for proof of how awful my body rejected it. I also wasn't on any medication for it as I wasn't told to take any
Hey I hope you get better soon ❤
you should make a video about how to have a Winter Arc!!!! Also I LOVE your girl talk videos they are so helpful and I think you should continue to spread awareness about everything you know about down there girl stuff! You should do a video called Doing the Research so you don't have too! I love you bailey!❤

Bailey I LOVE your hair!🤎
@@cyanidesidesalad im not sure of the difference but i had the needle in my arm and they gave me gas lols. the pain is the most excruciating thing ive ever felt, and the doctors keep running different tests but refuse to set up an mri like i hace requested for the past month
i do have an unusually small uterus, which is why ive struggled with tampons my whole life. i was expecting some cramping and bleeding, now i have a potentially permanent pelvic injury
(i also requested and was approved for anesthesia because i have an old hip injury. i had torn the ligaments and muscles in my right hip when i was 10, so my doctor requested extra precautions)
HAIR LOOKS GORGEOUSS
You’re so lucky you had yours planned 😭 my mom found out I was hanging out with a guy and scheduled me an appointment to get mine THE NEXT DAY but I too was freaking out I think at one point I was crying my eyes out scared for my life(it really wasn’t that bad it was really bad cramping for like 2 minutes and then I was fine) the worst part were the mood swings and cramps that came after the procedure
Your like the big sister everyone wants! This is so helpful, Love you Bailey 💞
I would go for an IUD if that changed, I figure the pain I would feel would be worth the comfort of not needed to worry about a daily pill or all the side effects I had.
very vulnerable for you to share🤍🤍
i used to never want hormonal birth control butttt i got my liletta iud three days after you did bailey!! i got it under anesthesia (bc we should NOT have to go through the bodily trauma of getting it placed without serious pain management!!) it was rough after, i had severe cramping for probably a week or two- but i also had a complication due to the position of my uterus. im so glad i went under anesthesia- it was covered by my insurance too. pls ask ur doctors about the possibility of anesthesia, i had a great experience at the office too.
So proud of you Bailey ❤ you
I wish the side effects of birth control were more talked about!!
This video is so needed lol
I think the implant is so much better and u don’t have any pain x
i got my iud out 2 years ago and switched to the patch and i’m so grateful! guys could feel my iud and i was NOT about that
Need to know if the patch is actually working
@@bayleahidlay6922 girl yes.. i’ve only been on one other form of BC but by far i’ll be sticking to the patch!
Yeah, does it? :0
@@bayleahidlay6922 yes it does recommend 100%
