Great to see this given that I'm a visual person and find it easier to learn from videos rather than having to read instructions especially when it comes to physio lessons like this.
All the Thanks in the World Dr Clark! Very important material demonstrated! Crucial! All tennis players and all string players and drummers should see this great Video! I m already recommending it to many friends who are musicians. Blessings on You!!
Hey... Just swinging by to say... These exercises are actually pretty good. If you still check these comment sections, please know that your help is very much appreciated and a refreshed course would be awesome (seeing how you haven't posted in the last two years).... Especially now that most people work from home. P.S. Also... It would be pretty awesome if you have some tips for some hyper-flexible people like me as I can do most of these stretches quite easily to a pretty huge degree despite having carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands.
I know this is an old video, but I only found it today. Excellent matter-of-fact presentation and demonstration. These stretches are going to help me so much. _Thank you._
Great exercises. Just be aware that you aren't misusing the hand you are using to stretch the other one; so you're not compressing the nerves in the wrists.
Hello, Kipp Clark! Thank you very much for your videos! May I ask you and seek your advice? I am a bass guitarist from Ukraine, 65 years old, and I haven't played the bass for two years because I have RSI in both hands. I have treated it with NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), done many different physiotherapeutic procedures, but it didn't help. The pain is not severe, but it even occurs from using a computer mouse. My left hand is not loaded with anything but it hurts the same. So the question is - can I do the exercises you recommend, and others, in this condition (mild pain)? There are many videos on UA-cam dedicated to this problem. Should I wait until the pain is completely gone and only then start doing similar exercises for stretching, training, and so on? Thank you in advance for your response. Anatoliy.
Thankyou so much. I play drums for a living and have had allot of cramping over the last few years I will do these from now on. also would you recommend any other exercises specifically for drumming.
Hey Kipp, the last stretch mentioned, if i tilt my head to the right and feel a strong tug/pain in the median nerve of my left elbow up to about halfway toward the wrist, should i continue to gently hold the stretch or stop? Thanks Kipp, and great video, i'll be using most of these exercises =).
If you are tilting your head right (to stretch left) and the 'tug' is on the left then I would still do it. However, do it lightly and ease into it gently, the pain should not be strong. You dont want 'pinching' in the neck on the side you tilt your head to due to nerve root compression, some stretching discomfort on other side is to be expected though.
I believe these will be effective exercises as I recover from CT surgery. The visual is great but the sound could be better..I'll still be doing the stretching and exercising though! Thank you.
I found it too soft on my laptop speakers, but after attaching laptop with HDMI cable to tv screen could turn up sound on tv. Laptop speaks can't handle this kind of situation on its own.

I'v used these exercises before. They work well to release tension in the arm and shoulder, but need to be done over a couple of weeks at least.
Do you have a reference page with illustrations that can be downloaded?
is there away i can get a print out of them?
Thankyou so much.

Did you heal?
how many reps of each should be done

I'm studying treating tennis elbow naturally and found an awesome website at Trevs Remedy Tactic (check it out on google)

Extension and flexion, radial and ulnar deviation, various soft tissue, and stretching techniques. Pretty much as basic as it gets.
Max volume and can barely hear the audio.
I found it too soft on my laptop speakers, but after attaching laptop with HDMI cable to tv screen could turn up sound on tv. Laptop speaks can't handle this kind of situation on its own.
I can't hear you. :(
lol
This doesn't help at all.
