I just bought a SW snubbie and shot it for the first time yesterday. Not shot a revolver in over 40 years or a snubbie ever. I did not impress and appreciate this video.

I reloaded my issued Colt DS snub w/a speedloader in a 1974 gunfight w/three armed robbery suspects. In retirement my preferred EDC is a J Frame w/a speedstrip in an off pocket & speedloaders in the center console of the car. Snapcaps are a good investment to practice reloading a revolver.

I agree speed-loading is a skill that needs practice. I would appreciate to hear the story behind that shooting and also what you thought of the Colt d.s.

@@revolverroundup You can read about the shooting by searching Lessons From Ken Howard on the internet. The Colt DS was a good weapon for the time and pretty light when I had to conceal it under a coat & tie. It went into evidence, was replaced by a S&W Model 10 snub and I never saw that Colt again.

👍👍 Thanks guys, I own two charter arms revolvers. A 1980s off duty and a stainless undercover I purchased last year. I really like both and my older one has held up great and shoots extremely well too. I also have a s&w model 437 and a ruger sp 101. Appreciate all the tips on shooting them and especially appreciate the scripture reference. Hope you guys have a great day and please learn all your local carry laws cameraman. 😂

I bought a Charter Arms Undercoverette in .32 H&R Magnum not long after this video came out, but just saw this video in late August. After a box or two of .32 S&W Long and a few rounds of H&R Magnum, I'm enjoying the gun. It's easier to conceal than my usual EDC (CZ PCR), even if it doesn't carry as many rounds. I'm building muscle memory with the speed loaders, too, should I ever need that skill.

It’s much easier reloading with the Speed Loader if you point the muzzle down to the ground, keeping it vertical then the speed order around drop right into the cylinders as soon as you turn the knob sometimes you gotta wiggle a little bit, but you seem to have the same problem each time keep the muzzle down.

The barrel harmonics of snubbies are high frequency/short wavelength. As a result, the "slap" amplitude of the barrel is smaller, and the harmonics tend to be incoherent, causing destructive interference. Hence, it has actually better accuracy than longer barrel.

I don’t even click on videos where it looks like someone is going to practice their speed reholstering. The Son of Sam Killer saved Charter Arms, after it was revealed he was using a Charter Arms Bulldog. I think Charter Arms was planning on releasing a Son of Sam model a while back. 👍👍👍💥

3:10 "Now, people will say that snubbies are the hardest guns to shoot."
This is why, if I had to pick a revolver guy or an auto guy to back me up, I'd go with the revolver guy, because I KNOW he will know how to use it. Can't say that there aren't good auto guys, but the profiency is far more variable across the board.
In this day and age, there are only two types of people who carry wheelguns:
    - women whose boyfriends picked their gun for them, misguidingly because it is "easy"
    - guys who love revolvers in their own right and train to make each round of their limited capacity count
A snub-nosed revolver is an expert's gun, through and through

Great video, info, and shooting, Gents. Watched while getting ready for work this morning. The advantage of the snub-nosed contact shot vs semi is for real, and a big deal imo. Was appalled to see Cameraman's face in the mirror! A proper mustache is the true sign of a Brahma Bull amongst the modern day chemically castrated steer. Only way to grow one, is to keep those clippers away from your face...Invest in yourself. It's worth it! 😂😂😂

So my 640 is 38spl only. And remington 110grain or 125 grain +p for aluminum j frame Hornady 110 standard pressure. Most important is that you can land your shots with whatever ammo you pick.

Servicios Aventuras is the name of the primers he is referring to. They come in a yellow and green box. And yes out of a simi auto you will get FTF. I don’t care what kind of simi auto you have. I bought 2k worth of them and I had FTF in my CZ Scorpion carbine, both my Glocks a Beretta m9a3 a Walther PPQ & PDP as well as a FEG 380. Now my revolvers they seemed to work with that said I’ll never buy that brand of primer ever again. Terrible Terrible primers in my opinion I think they were designed for sub gun ammo. Like a open bolt style firearm something that has a fixed firing pin as well as something that beats the heck out of its ammunition. Just a opinion not the gospel

Soooo the J frame. owned a dozen or so? TO ME they all shoot the same no matter what model. meaning that they are all the same size and they all are regulated (sighted) well. My carry gun is a 340 PD.. this is a monster for recoil in a 12 ounce .357 gun with secret service wood grips... But... having put countless rounds through a lot of different j frames? I DO NOT practice with the .340 PD... I shoot it rarely and it shoots.... the exact same as every J frame duh? To hit a 5 gallon bucket at 100 yards with a J frame is no big deal. They will for sure do it. I find that the fixed sights of the J frame are very good. Depending on eyesight (mine is 74 year old 20/20 corrected with glasses) some older eyes actually shoot short sight radius guns better than longer radius. This tho many might not agree with me.... grip... your little finger is not your friend. it will pull you off target.. it is why the old 1851/1873 Colt grip works so well. My large hands (and for medium size) the pinkie will be under the grip and not pulling the gun off target. My holster is the hip pocket sticky one that totally conceals a J frame with wood grips. the 340 PD will kick.. duh? but I can say that recoil and blast will not be felt/heard in a tense situation. soooo practice with an old steel 38 spl J frame. good enough.
