My biggest mistake starting out was leveling up too quick. Wanted the boost of the higher levels but ended up underpowered. I now wait to level up until all research, upgrades n buildings are maxed.
that's a slow roll and not something you really need to do. As long as you can take out your level's daily swarm requirements, you are good to start working towards the next OPs level.
I'm a new player. My brother has been playing for years and I finally caved and started as well. I am completely addicted now lol. Glad to have found this channel!
I think another pitfall newer players fall into is not working on the specialty/event ships: slack on Stella you miss out on important efficiency researches; don’t dust off your Vi’dar lose independent credits which are such a pain to source; and etc.
Is the sourcing for the Disco/Frankie/Vidar still all using the same weekly event currency? One thing I would've liked to've known when I started out was that that was the case so I could've saved up the currrency for Vidar bps first rather than chuck them on the Disco because that pops up first
Another exception to Dual-Faction Grinding: Once you get to 10M on all three, you need to TRIPLE-grind and stall until you get to Ops38; the next tier up (30M) jumps you to 4* mining, which you can't get to until Ops38. So take advantage of the time and triple-faction it to scoop up all the faction credits you can.
I just recently learned that your opc cargo, if killed by a hostile, is kept and still put into inventory...for years ive been trying to grind borg/swarms/etc to the last possible one before popping and then flying the return trip home so my cargo would count...so much wasted time on return trips🤦

Creating a plan and sticking to it is one of the best things you can do in this game. Want that Pilum make a plan to get to it, that will help keep you focused on the goal and not bouncing for this new feature to this feature.
I agree with all these suggestions EXCEPT needing to be in the best alliance you can find. Let's say you're 40 and you join the #2 alliance on the server whose average level is 48. You won't be able to join their armadas, you won't be mining where they're mining and if they PvP you'll be an afterthought. You'll end up getting frustrated by not being able to take part in much of what they're doing and might start feeling pressure to level up faster or start buying packs to catch up. That's just not fun. Rather, you want to find an alliance where you're like 10th best to around the middle of their average power. That way you'll always have people to armada with and you'll be sharing the same progression with many of your alliance mates, which makes the game far more fun than just getting some extra loot as a hanger on in a top guild.
You need to find the right culture... I came back to the game after 3 years off, so I'm way underpowered, but I have no trouble getting into armadas. We call ourselves in, and the one running will star the first 4-5 to call, unless they specifically need power. I'm in one of the top 5 alliances on my server (arguably 2nd or 3rd) and don't get left behind on much. They've helped me progress much faster than I would have without them.
Great advice Rev, as a leisure player I'm happy in my rank12 alliance, I dual factioned up to the first lock then I've been camping in the mid 30s doing as many dailies as I can stay awake for!
rotate your grinds, don't try to take on the world in one day. as for me at lvl 35 there is so much to grind you have to focus on one or two per day to max out production so you don't need to hit it again anytime soon. kind of like working out when you have leg day, push day, pull day. do your dailys and then focus on 2 grinds and do them thoroughly then do 1 or 2 different ones the next day. make time to opc hunt especially in territory space. there is nothing like free rss @RevDeuce loves it and so do I. keep up with your research and don't "outkick your coverage". some people level up too quickly and either bottleneck on rss or fall behind on research. there is nothing wrong with camping at certain levels to catch your breath. remember not only research but your buildings and ships also need rss. try to plan ahead accordingly. don't be afraid to mine in token space. of course try to time it for an event like mining monday but its so ez to get a crap ton of a resource in one long trip which frees up your dock space and time to do other things.
I agree. There’s players on my server that try to do all the different grinds daily like ex borg, dominion, swarms etc. I think doing 2 or 3 of those grinds daily helps from getting burned out from all the stuff. Rotating what you grind I think helps in the long run.
@@mariaortega2022 I would say some grinding should be part of any game but just like WOW it’s become more of a chore than fun. I’ve scaled back my gameplay due to work and other time constraints but I’m ok with taking the slow way, ftp. Coordinating daily’s with events of the same challenge really helps.
I definitely agree on all points. I play in the same manner. I've especially noticed moving from the second highest alliance to a 6-7 ranked alliance that my former teammates are progressing significantly quicker. Winning alliance events pays out a lot in the long run.
Dual faction is worth it!!! It's slow and tedious but it is so worth it. It also helps in dailies, making it so much easier to finish. Just mine for both or just one, swarms, help alliance and the open gift chest and you are practically done. A lot of the times they count towards the event also. Events have 24 hours before reset so if doing swarms and there's a event do your swarms until you finish them stop and wait till dailies reset to do it again and hopefully this finishes off the event if not just keep going since dailies can be done along events only twice. This helps make dailies not seem like a chore. Another thing is not collect on away missions so quickly, save some of them for events. Most away mission rewards aren't that great so saving them isn't hurting much plus the officers you're using are ones I don't really use. Refinery, you have to stay on top of it, make sure you are doing them religiously, especially the material one. You get to pull every 9 hours or so, every little bit helps. Try to get 5of11 as soon as possible, she helps tremendously, I add her to the bridge with Jaylah to grind on swarms and within 2 months I got my Franklin fully tiered and ready to be exchanged for the 'A'. She helps so much in getting them other currencies also, like them nanoprobes, actian venoms, and others. Quick sure fire way is to get them transporter patterns and the fastest way is to max rep your augment faction then pull constantly from the augment chest. quickest way to get maxed out officers in rares and epics but the second chest contains only rares and I maxed it out pretty quick. It's how I unlock 5of11.
really appreciate you taking the time to go over simple things like this.. I am a slow to lvl guy who is actually having a great time playing at a low level with no sense of urgency to level up as I am enjoying enjoying playing and doing great because i follow your advise
Nobody should be paying money for these games. Ninety percent of apps sell your data. It's in the terms of service. That's why most apps were free for most of history. And the amount of work they put into these games is incredibly low.The cost to run these servers is incredibly low. I do not at all support endgame, purchases. By definition, this makes it pay to win, which is a terrible model by all metrics
Pretty much agree with most of what you said. Though my current alliance has dropped to 6 to 7, I still believe loyalty has some value. I totally agree with your take on spending, I'm going to actually look at those extra research and building queues. 😊
As always, I enjoy your videos and input. Agree with all your points. # 6 could be save away team credits for a future ship blue prints that may like to get 🍻
Thank you for the video. Just started playing about 2 weeks ago and have been looking for information to get me up to speed. This has helped, I have subscribed. Been loving the game so far.
On my server usually to stay in the top 2 alliances you need to participate in the alliance events at the very least and get a score that shows you made an effort.
As tftp i do most of them. But those armadas take way to much time. I know it is a thing i have to do. I liked the video. And bajoran materials refine is also a good tip. You can get much more unc ore crystal and gas every day. Gives more resources then an arc if you pull every day
Top mistake is not planning long term. Pick your first G3 Epic ship at level 14, that will dictate the factions you pick and to save credits and resources it can influence your second faction and ship selection along the way. My goal is to have the faction reputation, faction credits and some resources saved so I can unlock and upgrade select ships as soon as I am allowed. Plan 6-12 months out.
I think another mistake is trying to do too much, there are so many avenues to the game. I concentrate most on Dominion, i bought the Defiant as i was ops 38 and didn`t have a 34 ship. It has helped me so much, I`m ops 44 now and use Dominion to get 4*uc ship parts and materials(2k-4k per day), not to mention all the boosts from Dominion research. For context, i went from 0-44 in less than a year thanks to my bro getting me into the number 2 alliance in our server, but I do suffer from poor officer levels due to too many officers available in ultra recruit, so maybe time to double the shards or halve the cost, or ideally both lol
Great tips - I agree x5. Amendment to #3: if you don’t have the power to join the biggest alliance (or they don’t like you), the most active alliance (probably still top 5 in power) is the second best, not necessarily #2 in power. There are lots of alliance grind events (killing hostiles and so forth). Also, for #4 I think prioritizing at large is a bigger opportunity. Plan the day by starting with the event with the most important rewards first and working your way down (multitasking when possible of course). One huge mistake is doing ticketed events for resources that you could just raid instead of waiting for ticketed events that pay out officer shards or event store currency.
I think you missed an important one. When a player levels up without completing the research available in each level, they grow faster but not stronger. I’d rather be a really strong 21 than a really weak 31that can be beaten by the strong 21.
Exactly! I always aim to be 'the king' of my lvl. Ok, maybe taking it a bit too slow 😂. But the advantage is that it makes daily life (and dailies) very easy simply because I'm a STRONG ops xx lvl... Whatever lvl I'm at.
Just came across this ..helpful to hear. My suggestion is to have a BP spring cleaning event. Where bps are just turned in for either offices shards or higher ship bps... ect. As far as hijacked ships those can be traded but you have to keep one. Like the realta. Just a broad thought.
Dual faction is so important. If you progress ops slowly, the faction rep will grow too fast and the daily goals will eventually get beyond your means. Plus the ship repair speedups are really nice. I just passed 100k 30 minute speedups. It helps to do stuff before bed and let things repair for 6 hours while I sleep.
Stupid question, how does one duel lock faction. I'm right now killing as many Klingons as I can. My federation is 4, 513,347. My romulan is -356,286. My Klingon is -2,000,000. Yes screwed up. But I am trying to fix it I think
@@daddy0798 you should continue to hunt those hostiles. But also stop collecting federation daily goals (mining and hostiles) as well as not join the daily fed rep event. The main goal is to get to a positive number with the romulans as quickly as possible because then you get their daily goals and rep event. Look for romulan missions that pay out rep and do those until you are +500 rom rep. At that point you’ll get the event and daily. On w you get those, only turn in the romulan rewards for the daily and only join the romulan rep event. Do this until your fed and rom rep are normalized. Then you can start doing both and bring them both up at the same time. Just keep watching their numbers and adjust as needed (do or don’t do events to adjust rep levels)
Well I was using geordi for a while on my solo armadas and it was super helpful to add onto what the defiant already gets. Using him as capt makes for a decent second loot crew to run for solos
I try to stay ftp but things like extra drydocs research buildings and repair cues are a bit much to resist. If I can get any primes for free I'm happy to grind for them.
Another mistake is not asking bigger players to drop from an armada so you can pull resources that you need, most are happy to help, i`ve never been refused a request
This would have been very helpful a year ago when I started. Especially the dual-faction. Top alliance one- meh, maybe best rewards, but usually made of low-grade humans.
Getting into a big alliance may not be the best advice. They do screen who they take in. And the stakes are high. Find a active mid range alliance first. They will take you in and help you. When you get a chance to join one of the big one you can take it.
Ive been focusing on fed just because it where everyone goes. No one said about trying dual just because of how long it takes etc. either way, just means ill be on the game for much longer :D
Its actually easier to single grind the factions . once you get your 1st faction lock you can quickly catch up doing the others without worrying about damaging your rep with your locked faction
One little disagreement on the be in the n1 alliance is you have to be a reasonable lvl to be in them. No point a lvl 20 being in an alliance full of lvl 40/50 players as really this would be hard for them to help and guide them. Different events etc.
I didn't even buy any Borg consumable and I've had 4 out of 5 upgrades with a supposed 75% success rate fail and it's supremely annoyed me and turned me off that whole branch. It takes so long to source that stuff and to fail 80% of the time on a 75% success rate item...
hey rev, speaking of dailies - i invested in the freebooter research, and now i finish my lvl 40 dailies in less that 10 minutes, and that's with warp time. i have to hit 3 lvl 45 FBers, and 4 lvl 40-43. that's it. 7 hostiles. i cannot recommend it more to do that freebooter research!
To be truthful the biggest mistake I have made is starting to play this game ..Now I continue to play for the people I have meet ..All the glitches is making it hard to give a f**k anymore
Working the faction recruits and then the TPs is super important at OPS 46 I have 11 Maxed epics 20 Maxed rares, 15 rares at T4 and 8 epics at T4 .... it's no joke what u can do pulling faction recruit tokens every day
The longer I play this game, and the further I get along, the bigger, deeper and more frustrating the grind becomes. Why, oh why, didnt I take the BLUE pill ?
See, I disagree with the need to be in a top alliance. I’ve seen too many players leave for one and then leave the game or end up just bouncing around from group to group. Find a group you enjoy playing with; otherwise the grind takes over.
As long as you're not in a dead alliance or one where the members are just looking out for themselves, a helpful, active alliance increases the enjoyment you get out of the game 100 fold.
You have to be in an active helpful alliance, and you don’t want to be the biggest player or the most knowledgeable player. The social aspect matters, but your relationship to your alliance is either symbiotic or parasitic. Staying because of loyalty cost me a huge amount of progress.
There is another big mistake that you can easily make: is to focus on too much at the same time in this game. There are so many ships and buildings in the game. I have some alliance members who want to build everything and get angry that they have too low resources for it.
I kinda disagree on the dailies vs events/battlepass. Some dailies are very important like titan, mantis Qs.But if it was between killing swarm and doing my battlepass. I'm doing the battlepass. Also I've seen single daily events that give a better payout than the weekly/monthly chest. One of the trivia events recently comes to mind. Got more gas from that in 15 min than I think I had earner fro. Other sources in the preceding 2 weeks
I think you are right I myself value uncommon materials higher than repairs or frequency modulators, but lower ops level players should focus the dailies. Lower level players are going to need those repairs, reputation, credits and shields. At low level you are going to have to complete the swarm and faction dailies to get the 12 hr shield which actually can be a pain point for new players.
Dual faction: I started grinding the Klingon faction after i got to my first (10m) lock on the romulans. By this time i had maxed out my Vidar and have been using the charged nanoprobes in the Borg refinery to buy Klingon faction rep. It's going really good, the ease of getting the probes to refine is quick, and the rep is very affordable. Grinding rep that way is way faster than grinding NPCs. I am Level 36, my Talios upgrade is "whenever" i feel like it, i will probably put more probes into that after i'm at 10m Klingon rep. Meanwhile my dailies keeps my romulan faction score going up towards the next level, but it isn't nearly enough to counteract +100k klingon faction rep purchases.
Rev, its been a long time since you produced a video on dual faction grinding could you produce a new one that is specifically targeted for how to faction grind upwards past respected?
Hey, any tips for our alliance? Our R5 quit and so we are suffering. dont wanna leave because its doing well - very new, yet level 11. 4th in power. We need an active person to be R5. 😅 Tickets to Devs havent been addressed sofar.
I really hope they fix the ultra recruit tab. Wish there were more discovery like tabs. I want to upgrade Cath but she’s mired down by all the officers in there.
How do you get back to dual faction grinding? The game seemed to force me to change one. I guess just rebuild the point ranking of of one of the factions until it starts giving you resources for dailies again?
My mistake was hoarding. Some hoarding is strategic and important. Too much is crippling. I've started working on spending more directives, doing more research, etc. lately rather than saving up for events and it's made my gameplay much more enjoyable even if it means I finish top 10 instead of 1st in some hypothetical future event. Related question - I am Ops42 and currently have more ultra recruit tokens than I care to admit waiting for a decent recruit SLB that hasn't happened yet. Given that the packs are now much more watered down should I just stay the course and wait for my moment or go ahead and break the seal and get what I can?
You can earn so many ultras so quickly it wouldn't hurt to spend them down. Wait for one of the daily SLBs for officer recruits if you want to get *something* but I promise you'll bank them up much quicker than you think. I'm averaging earning about 10K ultras a week. I was down to
My brother is terrible for hoarding, he had hundreds of thousands of ultras and then so many officers got added it watered it down and he could have maxed out more officers if he had used them. Look for heroic officer event that gives ship parts, it when i use mine.
Alliances can implode because of armadas, we had one that because the head of the aliance tried to have armadas strictly for lower levels but because of the constant bickering over who got a slot and because ashe felt scamed by Qs trials, they disbanded the aliance
I used to put just the strongest players in my A ship and I did this up until lvl 26 and then I learned how to use officers currently really a part-time 41
1the common thread is think long term. It's not a game that most play for months, it's years. Think about where you want to he and work back from there. For example, I wanted a maxed Ent so I saved tickets and went all in when gas was available. Little things like that keep the progression moving forward which for me as a f2p, brings satisfaction with my game
the dilution is insane tho they could remove the faction officers from ultras and premiums and have them in faction recruits means ultras and premiums are less diluted but i cant see that happen you are then removing 3 epics and 9 rares and 9 uncommons from ultras and premiums also remove some that are in transporter patterns
Ha! The purple help in top right was bugging me. I play on touchscreen tab and kept wanting to prod it. At 12.40, he hits it slyly while talking.... ohhh, It was satisfying. I need help. Hehehe.😂
Nice tips, appreciate you pointing out there are a lot of "money wasting " deals in the Shop

Thanks Rev 👍🙂 Making Adjustments Now, Even though I'm Level 46, I May Still be Able to Grow Better In the Game in the Future.
One of the best packs I’ve ever spent dollars on was a ticket pack. You get so much more resources in those tickets plus an officer token
Just a broad thought.
i see way to many people rushing thru leveling up there ops and skiping the reasearch! BIg Mastake!!!
USEFUL video (ok, they all are 😜, but this one is concentrated usefulness).
Keep 'em coming 👍👍👍
Great tips. I made quite a few of those mistakes in the baby stages of the game several years ago.
We started a alliance when we didn't know anything... I'm riding it out with them, I had multiple opportunities to leave
Outstanding video, Rev. Been playing several years and still benefited.
i cant say what mistakes players make but what u said makes sense and ty for the video and LLAP Rev Deuce!
I save officer recruits for when the daily events - heroic recruits come around, they are fairly often and have a decent payout in the 40's.
Solid, real great tips Rev👍😘
Getting into a big alliance may not be the best advice. They do screen who they take in. And the stakes are high.
Find a active mid range alliance first. They will take you in and help you. When you get a chance to join one of the big one you can take it.
Glad you enjoyed!
Server 100 boi. Love the shoutout. Thanks Rev
@@claytonparris432 that's my plan. Getting close to the first lock
Good tips. You've said it before but I've used ATM to unlock and promote epic officers like Data and TOS Spock and Fluffy
Good stuff! Fluffy is m ybiggest away team officer I still go after.
hey rev, speaking of dailies - i invested in the freebooter research, and now i finish my lvl 40 dailies in less that 10 minutes, and that's with warp time. i have to hit 3 lvl 45 FBers, and 4 lvl 40-43. that's it. 7 hostiles. i cannot recommend it more to do that freebooter research!
You need the time to do armadas
Great vid Rev, as always.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You've made me so much more of a contender, thanks rev....🖖
My pleasure!
To be truthful the biggest mistake I have made is starting to play this game ..Now I continue to play for the people I have meet ..All the glitches is making it hard to give a f**k anymore
Working the faction recruits and then the TPs is super important at OPS 46 I have 11 Maxed epics 20 Maxed rares, 15 rares at T4 and 8 epics at T4 .... it's no joke what u can do pulling faction recruit tokens every day
amazing as always Rev
The longer I play this game, and the further I get along, the bigger, deeper and more frustrating the grind becomes.
Why, oh why, didnt I take the BLUE pill ?
Thank you very much. You have confirmed what I painfully learned the hard way.
Great Vid Rev!!! Thanks for the awesome info!
Glad you liked it!
La forge is great for solo armada loot
Where was this video a week ago? I just hit 30 and was an ultra token saver. Great info though, now I know how to proceed in the future
Agree - be competitive but relationships are key.
You have to be in an active helpful alliance, and you don’t want to be the biggest player or the most knowledgeable player. The social aspect matters, but your relationship to your alliance is either symbiotic or parasitic. Staying because of loyalty cost me a huge amount of progress.
@@H..M.. don’t disagree…I changed almost two years ago and it was the best thing I could have done.
Powerful alliances are very expensive to contribute... Especially 50 times to complete a task or event
Thanks Rev for me you lead me in a good direction
There is another big mistake that you can easily make: is to focus on too much at the same time in this game. There are so many ships and buildings in the game. I have some alliance members who want to build everything and get angry that they have too low resources for it.
You made the biggest mistake of them all ... Owning an interepid ... Good job rev
Always the best info. Thanks Rev😅
What a great informative video. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
1:30 Whats your player name on 97?!?! Thats my server!!!!!! Come to ACES - the one with the accent mark.
Reading your tweet seen the number 97, my player name is Scouse 97 🖖👍
Rev, its been a long time since you produced a video on dual faction grinding could you produce a new one that is specifically targeted for how to faction grind upwards past respected?
Freebooter research in the exborg research tab was the best thing scopely did for making dailies faster to do
I do all the things you mentioned with the exception dual faction rep. Any advice on how to actually grind out two factions at the same time??
Thanks Rev, you have confirmed what I believe to be true.
Once scopely put in the freebooters I rushed to 38 for the research. I am done with my dailies in maybe 10 minutes plus my overnight miners.
Good stuff Rev.
Much appreciated
lagniappe…I love it. Don’t hear that very often anymore.
Whoa dang! I'm already doing 4 of 5 right!
Heck ya!
I don't see the station pack, was it removed? I see the Second builder and Extra Research queue.
Great video as always. Can you tell me what is the purpose of the Allegiance Tokens?
what factions would you recommend to duel. I've been doing fed and klingon but I'm not sure I'm doing the right ones
Good vid Rev
Thanks Rev!
So can you get rid of those unwanted or unneeded officers?
I really appreciate your insight
Also, do the events you can complete. I would say that sometimes events and dailies go hand in hand
I Aligned with the Romulans and I am so far away from Kilngon and Starfleet I am not sure how can duel faction grind.
SLBs are every 11 days. I always do the Heroic events. For the titanium
Alliances can implode because of armadas, we had one that because the head of the aliance tried to have armadas strictly for lower levels but because of the constant bickering over who got a slot and because ashe felt scamed by Qs trials, they disbanded the aliance
This game is adding more and more players😂 Well it’s losing even more. Rev is always a roller coaster when it comes to his loyalty to the devs.
Never been loyal to the devs. This is a smooth brain comment lol.
bigger alliances do bigger armadas, and those are great resources for rss
I used to put just the strongest players in my A ship and I did this up until lvl 26 and then I learned how to use officers currently really a part-time 41
I just started, def not spending, this is my second Scopely game, still trying to figure out what are DAILIES and where to find them???
When you do pull your ultra recruits, is it better to pull 1 chest at a time or pull 5 at a time?
Doesn't matter either way, it's the same RNG.
Appreciate your channel
I would like to know how to create an alternate account that I could build and not make the mistakes I did on my account
Create a separate Scopely ID. I use PC emulators to run multiple accounts.
the dilution is insane tho they could remove the faction officers from ultras and premiums and have them in faction recruits means ultras and premiums are less diluted but i cant see that happen you are then removing 3 epics and 9 rares and 9 uncommons from ultras and premiums also remove some that are in transporter patterns
Ha! The purple help in top right was bugging me. I play on touchscreen tab and kept wanting to prod it.
At 12.40, he hits it slyly while talking.... ohhh, It was satisfying. I need help. Hehehe.😂
Big up S100!
