I think Owen's performance in the boat scene is one of if not my favorite scenes in the game. It's either him or Shannon's scene with Ellie at the end of the game.
This is my favorite part of Abby's part of the story, the way she connects to Lev goes a long way to making her a more well rounded character, she isn't just someone who did something horrible but a human who is trying to make amends for past actions. The letter you read as cuter territories was actually outer territories. 😂
absolutely!!!!
The sky bridge part makes my panic attack/anxiety rise every single time I play through this. Heart races, palms sweat, stomach feels sick. I think this (and her easy acceptance of Lev) is why I connected with Abby so easily. I literally feel her fear every single time on this.
I think this was said somewhere, but I think the "explicitness" of the scene between Owen and Abby is to show kind of how impersonal the whole event was. Like this isn't two people who "resparked their long lost love and now want to spend eternity with each other." This is unrequited love. This is passion, but not necessarily love. I think if you cut away and fade to black, there's a sense that this could have been "lovemaking". It was not. And I think allowing us to see how it not only starts, but ends...makes it feel more realistic that the next morning, they're not all cuddly and loveydovey. At least Abby isn't.
1:03:47 The good thing about the Seraphites' avoidance of "Old World" tech is that when you come across one that's nearsighted as heck, they won't see you that well because they aren't allowed to use glasses 😬
The writers have said that the sex scene was to show that Abby can be vulnerable, show another side of her. I personally think this scene makes a lot of sense and says a lot about Abby & Owen's relationship. They've loved each other for more than four years but have been broken up for three, and they've clearly grown apart in that time, and more so after Joel's death (I'm pretty sure Abby says she hasn't really talked to him since). So although they're angry at each other, it's also the first time in a while that they've actually been raw and vulnerable with each other, and when the fight gets physical they start touching, and that's what sparks it.
And for the scene being explicit, I've always seen it as showing how much they crave each other and desperately try to recreate what they had but also how they kind of resent each other for who they've become. Hence how "brutal" the scene is and how they're not even looking at each other (compared to the Ellie/Dina scene).
I can see this, thank you for your insight!
Lev is lowkey my favorite character in this game!❤️ He's a BOSS with a bow🏹
2:12:25 It's not paint, it's bird residue. Maybe even of one from the nest ahead 😂
The fears that we are born with are falling and loud noises, so not necessarily the height itself, more the sensation of falling
I find it funny all the people who complain that later when Owen grabs the gun from Ellie, it's "unrealistic" or "uncharacteristic" of Owen to do. Yet we have in this story with him and Danny that it's not the first time he's done this. He just happened to be on the winning side of the engagement with Danny. Not so lucky with Ellie.
It's Sunday morning here I'm drinking hot coffee and watching you with the Last of Us 2 it is getting good and I hope that you have a fantabulous week
Thanks Anna D.🇬🇧🤠😻🇬🇷
2:18:19 my hands get sweaty here, I'm scared of hights...
this made my Sunday, so excited to watch! 🥰
OK, I was just eating pears and watching this video and you started talking about them. Pretty cool. And yes, they are delicious and deserve more appreciation.
NO WAY. That is wild, I don't know anyone that snacks on pears, they are so great!
The part where Lev asks Abby if Abby wants to ask about the name difference, and Abby turns the question around and Lev decides he doesn't want to talk about it... it makes me tear up because Abby just says okay and that's the end of it. No more conversation is needed. It's such a tiny moment that means so much.
thats exactly what I thought/said in this video! it says it all 💕
1:03:19
She says the reason is guilt. Abby saw them dead in her dream. I just think she wouldn’t be able to live with herself knowing that she left them for dead. It’s like the straw that broke the camels back. Also her having so much guilt about what she’s done the past few years shows her true self. Her low self esteem is because she hates the person she’s become.
It's also gratitude. They didn't have to cut her down, but they've shown that they're compassionate. Also, Abby's years-long vengeance quest has suppressed her humanity. Now that it's over, she's starting to reconnect with it (and hence the guilt). So while the vengeance hasn't brought her peace, in a perverted way, it's allowed her to find a measure of peace by reconnecting with her compassion. She might have gotten there sooner by skipping the whole vengeance bit if she had access to some good therapists. Unfortunately, they all became clickers (because they're good at listening).
I absolutely love this section of the game!! Lev and Yara are both such amazing characters, and it’s so cool to see Abby’s dynamic with them-it really gives us more insight into who she is as a person, to the point where this was where I started to love Abby while acknowledging the dichotomy the game explores with all its characters (Abby being brutal and cruel while still being capable of great kindness and compassion; Ellie being lovable and complex, but also capable of lashing out with extreme viciousness and violence). It really showcases just how incredible this writing is, and how the performances just add *so* much depth to every single line of dialogue. Thank you for this wonderful episode-the Mulan reference made me beam!! :)
This was my fav game on PS, I was telling everyone to download it and play it.. I really want to play it again
My day is saved
about the sex with owen, neil has said in videos that the sex was rough and not nice and polite for a reason.
Part 12 off Abby’s journey let’s get in to this Anna happy Sunday everyone got my drink 🥤 Anna you missed the combo it on the same floor as the crossbow in the far corner sorry never mind great playing by you and Abby see ya later bye ❤😊
Awesome! Keep it up!
to me, the abby/owen thing they obviously are kind of insulting each other but i never took it as she's 'really mad' i feel like she knows how he feels about it (the joel thing)
it's pretty obvious to me
that's one big reason i think they broke up
maybe she's a bit irritated but she also knows he's drunk so he's just irritable as well
to me, they haven't seen each other in a while and mel isn't around so for abby i think she is thinking about it because she's so relived he's even alive
owen i always felt he's with mel because she's the 'other option' but he can't be with his true love abby because the joel thing wedged them a part
after what happened and he knows his time with the wolves is done it's just kind of like 'fuck it', i still love her
so maybe owen is trying to trigger her into doing SOMETHING, i mean he's kind of just done with everything at this point
in terms of 'going there' i do think maybe they should have cut after the kissing but maybe they did want to show a different side to abby, even way before the game were released and people didn't know what abby did people were TRIGGERED by abby simply because of her physique and called her 'manly' etc. etc.
so maybe they wanted to show a different side, i have no earthly idea about that one lol
as far as abby's emotions, she has a lot in common with ellie for sure but i think emotion wise she REALLY mirror's joel
Took a little dunky dip in the old pool did we?! The water didn't know what it was getting itself into!
Great episode thanks so much Anna🙂Have a wonderful Sunday!
I know it's too late now that you finished the game, but anyway, the torches are fine with all infected, even runners and stalkers. A bit illogical maybe, but probably necessary from a gameplay perspective for the player to be able to see in those really dark places where infected like to dwell. 😅
I will never be able to open another drawer in this game. My immersion is ruined. 😭
Another amazing playthrough Anna ❤❤😄😄.
❤❤❤❤
Yeah thats right Anna a my awesome Perfect sunday after Watching movie Godzilla and Kong new Empire new episode of Tlou Part 2 Remastered thank you Anna @Anna Demetriou you are the best
