WATERCOLOR // Draw This In Your Style Challenge
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 лют 2019
- I decided to have a go at painting a #DrawThisInYourStyle challenge I saw floating around on Instagram. I've been feeling stuck in a rut lately, artblock I guess. And as per suggestion from some of my followers, I thought I'd give a go at recreating someone else's artwork in my style, which was a lot of fun!
Original artwork and concept is from Jo Rioux (@joriouxdraws).

Woahh... The art between the two artists are so diffent yet it's the same concept of character and composment
filfel kids hi
By the way, have you thought of making an art book? I would love to buy it if you ever did and I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one!
Yes! Well, I'm still looking into creating coffee-table artbooks of my annual sketchbooks, hoping to get something out by the end of the year! Still a long way to go, but something I really want to come to life!
kelogsloops That’s awesome! I look forward to buying one!
would also buy!@@kelogsloops
me too!!
@@kelogsloops Mundial Plox ( I'm from Argentina I can't speak english very well sorry ;-; dksjxusjf7 )
thanks for getting me into watercolour
Dude this is amazing!!! Would you ever consider doing a tutorial on how you do your gold foiling?
I have a hard time with it
Neono I believe it’s gold leaf he used for his artwork.
Its 9 second of video and im just like W. O. W. I hardly ever write comments but i wanted to say that youre so big inspiration for me and just by looking at your art i can see how much passion and hard work you put in it and that also makes me want draw even when i have art block. Dont stop creating new pieces i just live for them. Btw greetings from Poland.
without your comment, i would have never realized the beginning synced so well.
I love the way you control watercolours. I don't usually watch full painting processes but it's so interesting to watch yours. Every step you take just adds another layer of beauty to the piece!!
Hey Icy-Hot... 😍
Please, do that again... It was absolutely beautiful to see your interpretation contrasted to the other artist's intention. The recontextualsation of the mood was very interesting!
First❤❤ finally I've missed you!
I didn't understand why all your art is so classy and look expensive and sooo aesthetic im so in love with you and your art
Magnificent Piece!!! Love these time lapse videos!
This might be an uncomfortable question. Do you feel like you will fail as an artist during times in which you experience that "artblock" you addressed in the description? If concerns like that do in fact appear, how do you deal with that? Or do you not deal with it to begin with and just let it slide, knowing that it might just no be your day and that on other occasion your creativity and motivation will return by itself?
I'm struggling with this quite a lot, so I kept studying anatomy ever since this year started, as an excuse to not work on artwork because I feel as though I'm incapable to create one. So, to cut back to the question, how do you deal with that if that is the case for you as well?
Lunatic _ I I’m not really good in English but I will try to explain. when you draw big detail first you will artblock. I just see some things normal like eraser, pencil, table or whatever I think it’s easy to draw. You can draw any normal things to practice and then you can upgrade to the bigger detail. Make it’s step by step maybe better I think. lol
I just stop drawing for a couple of days. I know people sometimes say “you gotta draw everyday or else you’re not a good artist” but I feel like taking a break and spending time with family and friends once in a while is very refreshing and really gets me in the creative mood. Another thing I like to do in artblocks is experimenting with new art supplies and mediums. I’m mainly a digital artist but I like to dig out my watercolors and just have fun with it when I’m particularly uninspired.
Oh yes. Whenever I get artblock, I feel like I "fail" as an artist. I know that's a bad association or correlation, but it's a habit I try to consciously stop myself from thinking. It still gets me off guard here and there though. The best I do in this situation is acknowledge that it stems from an idealogy that I impose on myself and that it isn't actually true. You don't "FAIL" as an artist because you have artblock. It happens to the best of us. Once you acknowledge that and consciously remind yourself that it's okay, you can start slowly getting back into it again.
For me, once I recognize that I'm burning out or in a rut, I take some time away to recoup and to refresh myself with new ideas and sources of inspiration. I watch films, I look at new art styles, find new artists, maybe go do some photography -- anything that might spark some new creative juices. And after a little break, sometimes the best thing to do is to just discipline yourself to do small things like exercises, like what you're doing with anatomy studies. Slowly but surely, the discipline of those small tasks in combination with the flooding of new ideas will get you back into your rhythm again!
I view art as a form of communication. I always reflect when I’m stuck and think of what I want to say. Sometimes an idea or a feeling I want to express. So if you are feeling stuck go experience something/do something and come back. You will have plenty of ideas to create from!
kelogsloops Thanks for your answer
You don’t have your usual blooms. But I still love your work.
I do love a good bloom!! But I wanted to try something a little different seeing as the concept itself was so different!

This piece turned out gorgeous! Her beauty is absolutely stunning.
You should be crowned as the gold leaf king 👑💕
no way. gold leaf king will forever be gustav klimt (or more recently, brad kunkle... nggghh)
Not familiar with kunckle but klimt is the gold leaf god! I think you'll be a nice prince then
I think your work is infinitely more beautiful than Klimt's, honestly.
Brad Kunkle is great though. :)

It's so stunning! I like it so much!
you`re such an inspiration and your style is so unique
This is GORGEOUS. I know you did a video on faces previously (a video that I LOVE)-would you consider making a video focusing on skin tones? You seem to have such an interesting mix of blues and reds in the skin and it looks so realistic and dynamic and like there is so much DEPTH. even if you just discussed your favorite skin tones and how you like to mix them or even anything at all. Painting the skin is always my favorite and it’s the thing I love to do first so I’m really inspired seeing how you paint skin and your art in general 🙏 thank you!💕
I LOVE THIS SO SO MUCH AHHH 💞💞💞💞💞
I love your art work ❤❤❤
