63rd Army Band New Jersey National Guard Concert (Cumberland County, NJ) [1997, QBC-TV 2)

While digging through my Betamax/VHS archives, I found a VHS taped labeled "John Wayne, The Flying Leathernecks". To my delight, when I put the tape in my VCR, I discovered that I had recorded over the movie with a concert- recorded during the summer of 1997 off of QBC-TV 2, a public access channel based in Millville, New Jersey- featuring the 63rd Army Band New Jersey National Guard. This concert was held at an auditorium in Cumberland County, NJ and took place sometime during the week leading up to Independence Day 1997.
I remember quickly grabbing a VHS tape off the shelf so that I could record this performance because, at the end of the concert, they invited military veterans up to the front of the stage for a singalong of "God Bless America" and my late grandfather is one of the veterans who can be seen standing there. So, while this video has great sentimental value to me personally, I hope others will find it and enjoy it.

My grandfather was one of the veterans who was brought up to the stage near the end of this concert- I can remember scrambling to find a video tape to record it when it aired a few days later on our local public access station. Over the past year or so, I’ve been digitizing all of our old VHS tapes and I was so excited when I found this recording. My grandfather passed away just two years later, and it’s one of the very few videos I have of him. So it’s very meaningful to me, and I’m really grateful to hear that it is meaningful to others like yourself. Thank you again.
