I drive my factory 2000 tahoe through here all the time. I push the 4hi button and i have never been stuck. Complete factory tahoe. It still amazes me with the Toyotas
i know on Matts Offroad Recovery most of them want 40" tires for the sand but don't seem to see any real tall tires on and of the vehicles on your channel is the sand different there or would taller tires work better
The smart ones let me air down their tires. But when it's really dry if you don't have high flotation tires it doesn't matter if you air down. The sand will not support the weight of your car before you run out of clearance and bottom out.
@@Land_Raver thanks for the reply. If we get stuck, can we shoot you a message? We will compensate you. Just figured it'd be cheaper than calling a tow
@@VeddieFonnie I wouldn't take your money. There is a group called Galveston County Off Road on facebook. They will help anybody out for free too. Most areas have these groups and will probably be a little quicker than me to get out there.
that must have been prior to Labor day....after that some rain and most could drive straight thru to beach from entry, but still a few yanks to be done...the Hillbilly mud bogging in the Ford with street tires....rich and no ice cream truck..

@@Land_Raver One piece of rope designed to stretch 30% to help you towing, when you use 3 pieces of rope you're stretching 90% losing energy on stretching the ropes not on towing.
@SHA3BOL1 The kinetic part of a kinetic strap is that the energy is stored when stretched keeping constant tension betwee me and the towed vehicle. It doesn't matter if I had 10 straps, they would only stretch enough to absorb the energy I use to pull. No energy is lost when you use a kinetic but it is stored in the stretching action.
@SHA3BOL1 I've pulled thousands of cars out of the sand and I've never been pulled backwards. That would only really happen to a light vehicle with an oversized kinetic that pulled way too hard.

If a 2wd is going to make it through some deep sand, it's usually a Tahoe. I don't recall ever pulling out a 4wd Tahoe/Yukon.
and you don't air the tires down at all?

The bigger the better for sand. If I was constantly climbing dunes I would want bigger tires.
18" up tires do not have a belly as the old 15" tires that you could air down to 15-20 psi while going through sugar sand.
All depends on the ratio. If you can stay above a 50 aspect ratio, airing down still does a lot of good. 75 or more is the best.

I'm convinced that trucks running 2 Flags sink the quickest.....
Thank you for helping me to take out my white Mitsubishi Outlander… I went farther that I thought I could go!… thank you man!
Not a problem. See you next year.
I am a man from the Arabian desert. I have a piece of advice. You can drive in the sand even in a Camry. Just make the tires inflated from 8 to 10.

what are the conditions like now? Planning a trip early December
Packed solid. We've had a lot of rain. Just be careful of the water puddles.

That Ford Shelby is better off in the Walmart parking lot.....
Nice work. What beach is this?? I'd like to visit.
Thanks. San Luis Pass on Galveston Island.
In your experience have you seen many bronco sports out there? Also maybe your thoughts about them on the sand.
The Bronco Sports do pretty good. Far better than expected
I couldn’t believe the one in this video got stuck where it did. I’ve seen those things climb over some serious stuff. 😂
Me too.
@@Land_Raver in my defense, you saw who was driving ours when it got stuck.

Thank you for helping me,u da man.
Almost all these trucks/SUVs can get unstuck by a mere air-down to 10 psi or so.
@@GroupWar Aired down to 15 psi most were still having trouble like the Grey tundra.

It was early August. Ice cream truck is in the next video..lol.
wow, greetings from Poland
dzięki za oglądanie.
Just curious, why do you run the toe cable so long? The one I keep in my 4x4 is about 12ft.

@@Land_Raver Oh ok, gotcha. I get it. 👍
I’m surprised you don’t use a kinetic rope they seen to work well
I only use kinetic straps.
so you rave on land? like with glowsticks and all?
Depends on the moon cycle and the alignment of Earth, Venus and Mars.
I bet the ice cream man still made it out there
Watch the next one, he started coming back out after they graded the entrance. But he didn't make it all the way.
Tell the drivers to stop running over the strap!
@patrickwhelan5703 I stopped telling them. They are either going to do it or not, it just depends on their driving skills.
I’m pretty sure I see more stuck Toyotas than anything else out there……
I dont think they realize they shouldn't be bouncing it off the limiter, gotta take it easy in the sand
@arnoldpalmer9897 Slow and steady wins the race. It's hard to get things to cool off when you're sitting on the sand.
Ugh, stop running over the ROPE!!!
