I had 7,5 years Sony RX100IV and now I have RX100VA and I love it. Great photos, super nice slow motion and overall beautiful low light performance in video and photo as well. Thats why I think is better then mark VI. Awesome pro camera in innocent small body.
@@esterix101 Yes, if do not need low light performance and instead you need zoom, then is better VI. I just dont need zoom and I prefer low light performance. Good luck.
chris stokes absolutely!! Thanks for watching. I was thinking about making a wishlist for the RX100VI or possible more tips. Is there anything you'd be interested in seeing?
thanks for your reply...... yes ..... maybe which in your opinion is the best colour profiles... pp6 etc ? and how to grade it. keep up the awesome job
chris stokes so honestly, my PP setup changes so much. Right now, I've been rolling with standard and putting a minor LUT on the footage via Magic Bullet Film
Hi Austin. Came across your video and seems very helpful. I will go home tonight and try out those settings. I have a question though. I am usually not to happy with my nighttime pictures. What do you recommend for nighttime pictures with and without city lights, also with and without flash for portraits. Finally what do you recommend for regular daylight pics. Thank you so much in advance.
Great video! I’m really new to this, what do you mean when you say you can slow it down further with optical flow? Is that a post-production effect or something on the camera? Thanks
How would this do at night in a neon/tv filled place outside? Im going to tokyo in november and would like to get some good pics. I went to NY earlier this year and all my pics at time square came out a blurry mess. During day they came out just fine but at night all the screens just came out a bright white mess.
nice tip tude! anyway can i ask something about choosing camera? actually im thinking about but another point & shoot camera currently im using g7x mk1 but my g7x front lens shutter dosnt work pretty well 50% times of boot up it shows me the lens cover is stuck. so i would like to buy another camera , what do you think about choosing g7x mk2 or rx100mk5 ?
Does this camera offer a side timer as an option along with the video? I need when I slow down the video, I still can calculate the speed of movements for a certain scientific use. I hope it offers this option.
Thanks Austin. So, If i am using it in Movie mode, WIll it adjust the ISO level automatically? or will I have to adjust it manual? Thanks For your response.
I hope you are talking about Sony rx 100 MV. Recently I was shooting with my rx 100 5, i got very grainy footage I was very much disappointed, Could you please advise me as What should have gone wrong? OR can you make one video for dedicated movie mode settings for perfect video shooting.?
hmmm whhhyyyy does he have to put in the video where the settings are found? because it’s actually true, i got mine yesterday and it truly is such a fcked up menu
Hi Austin, how finicky is the manual focus? I agree with you, having the touch to focus quality of the a6500 on the Rx100v would've been perfect. Is achieving something like this (ua-cam.com/video/EKh8b4WEClY/v-deo.html ) possible? And how long would you rate the battery life (e.g. just shooting on 1080p walking around), how many batteries / powerbanks would it chew through?
Hey, I haven't used the manual focus much, but it definitely isn't amazing. Sony in general is known for poor manual focusing. As far as batteries go, shooting 1080p you'd probably go through a battery every hour or two using it casually.

I did exact opposite. Got VA as recommendation. Switched to VI because for wildlife, nature, with zoom, landscape and "macro", it works way better.

Having this camera for half a year and still not good in using it. Thanks for sharing, great tips- way better than other videos 👍
Thanks Austin! Saved me 10min wandering around that menu :D
you don't look real, you look like a realistic drawn man that came to life
Thanks for the tips. Just got mine in a couple days ago. Did everything you suggested, waiting for my wind muffs.
Tu Trinh that's awesome!! Glad I can help 😀 one other tip I've found is that you get better audio with "wind noise reduction" turned off
Which wind muffs did you choose? I'm having a hard time deciding. Thanks!
You know, I had the same dilemma. Someone ended up giving me the ones that I use
Where did you find the wind muffs? I can only seem to find ones for lav mics...
Just purchased this mighty mouse. This camera is my new primary, secondary is the A5100.
THIS vs THAT that's awesome!! I like that name. Mighty Mouse. It's crazy the images this thing can produce
If you compare these two cameras, how is the video quality, im most interesting in low light and also sound quality
use the V as a B-Roll camera, or get a good external recorder to plug a mic into, and put it all on a smallrig
Yes!!!! Loved it...... more rx100 v videos pleas

By the way, when shooting video outdoor in auto mode, the camera tends to have over exposure issue. How do you fix this problem?
Great vid really helpfull👍 thank you so much
Extremely helpful. Thank you.
Wicked helpful and informative thanks Austin!
Nishan Bilazarian always glad to help!!

Dear God, that colour pallet! 😆
Hello, Austin. I want to ask.. What's the best mic for RX100 V?
be careful if you're shooting video with the enhanced zoom. once you hit that transition in the middle it jumps.
The Video is So orange it hurts my eyes :/ But your video is the most usefull in the topic . Good Job !
This is quite a production,… like this a living or a passion for you,… ya?
This camera or canon sx740 hs?
is ndr only on mark5 or is it on mark 6?
You mentioned using optical flow to slow down your 240fps slow mo footage. Whats optical flow? is this something you do in post?
A little late, but autoflow is a way to slow footage down while keeping it really smooth

Can you do a video about what settings is best opt for concerts with rx100 mk5? Please!!
How do I use optical flow slow motion?
In Adobe premiere pro... But maybe in free DaVinci Resolve

I think that the RX100V is the best point and shoot on the market for what it’s worth’
For this camera do you upload in 1080p 60fps? And is that what you would record in order to upload at this speed?
Does this camera offer a side timer as an option along with the video? I need when I slow down the video, I still can calculate the speed of movements for a certain scientific use. I hope it offers this option.
Is the ND filter electronic?
I love my rx100v
hello mate! Can you please link where to buy the wind muffs ??
Unfortunately they were given to me so I don't have the exact ones on hand to link you too. Thanks for watching though!
Do we really have an ND on this camera or is it electronic..just a 2 stop sensitivity adjustment?
It does have an actual ND, you can see (and hear) it switching on or off.
I'm even more amazed at this camera if that's the case. It is just packed!
Austin, Which mode shall I use my camera? Manual Or movie?
Nayan Kumar I shoot video on the film strip, and I’ll usually do aperture priority
Thanks Austin. So, If i am using it in Movie mode, WIll it adjust the ISO level automatically? or will I have to adjust it manual? Thanks For your response.
Nayan Kumar the default is manual iso, but you can easily set it to auto iso in movie mode!
cool.. Subscribed.. :)

Ranga!
Can anyone please tell me if the RX 100 IV and RX 100 V have the exact same battery???? thanks a lot..
Yes
