It's amazing how many seemingly blatantly obvious answers there are that no one thinks of. Or there are answers that come up that you would think at least one person on the panel or Gene would know, but they all look at the answer like "Huh?". It drives me insane.
Joyce did or she heard it from the audience.. Charles was on the track but I guessing one of those moments when it is on the tip of your tongue but you can't recall it.
In Ira Skutch's Archive of American Television Interview, he states the sunglasses confrontation with Richard that led to the contract release happened between the tapings of one of this last week's episodes. Do we know which one? My guess is it was before this one as there is a marked change in Richard's demeanor that lasts till the end.
Big nose, rubber lips dawson was such an arrogant, nasty conceited blank! He wanted to wear those glasses 👓 & when he was told not too he didn’t like it. The almighty dawson had a hissy fit. BUT Brett was allowed to do or say anything she wanted. She must of bribed everyone w/her vodka martinis.
And the Unknown Comic who always had a paper bag over his head. And the singer, Cheryl Lynn, was also on there. That’s how she was discovered and ended up getting a recording contract.
There you go, you spend the majority of your time either insulting Richard Dawson or insulting the people who happen to like Richard. Then just like that, you'll switch to Religious mode...wtf is wrong with you?
MG75 actually.. Althou in that case they didn't say why she was unable to come back.. But I also think it might have been during the Aug break so she decided not to stay in Ca during those 3 weeks. But at this time we will never since almost everyone involved with the show is gone..
@@TVonthePorch That sounds like a little better title although I'm sure it wasn't a masterpiece either way. Given it was the '70s I'm surprised someone didn't make a show called "Boobs". That would star Dolly Parton, Raquel Welch and Fannie Flagg.

Wonder if it is just luck that Richard's last week on the show Dick Martin is on it too. Wonder if Dick going to change his clothes this time or stay in the same thing again this week.. Surprised that Match Game didn't come up on the first question but Hogan's Heroes?? ;0)
For years I thought that the panelists seldom matched the contestants on purpose for comedic effect, but then after reading several comments on MG threads; i've come to realize that most were just plain stupid❕❕
I don’t think it was always stupidity so much as many of them were just squares at times and often not up with the times and didn’t know a lot of cultural trivia for sure. Richard, and many of the semi-regulars seemed to know more than Brett, Charles, Gene, Betty, and some of the guest panelists who just weren’t with it.
I think Brett was truly jealous of the one contestant getting all that camera time at the beginning of the show. She was way more obnoxious (drunk?) than normal, kept talking over Gene.
Brett (the old hag)was jealous of anyone that was better looking than her, ( & they all were, contestants & stars). Now how come she can wear 🕶 sunglasses & Dawson was told he couldn’t. She had to hide those BLOODSHOT eyes. She got away w/murder.
None of them know of "Amazing Grace." It was only 200 years old at the time. Sheesh.

Yeah,I know, but they sure do remember hogans heroes, I 💘 that contestant sockin it to one of the dumbest sitcoms of all time.

Gene’s “cute teeth” is another example of how his mouth goes into gear before his brain does.
Gotta love Gene!!!! RIP ❤
Right.
This is only the second time (that I know of) where a winning contestant was unable to return to the show for the next episode.
Which is the other one?
Well, if you look at the previous video, at 7:35, he calls her a broad. Maybe he embarrassed her.
They didnt know what amazing grace was wow
Also, behind the top panelists in the intro, there is a new, blue backdrop.
I don't see it
And we sure care about that because ...
In other words, even if true, who cares?
Gene thought “Amazing Grace” was from a Broadway show?
4:55 Will this be the last time we see Richard smile on Match Game?
he smirks a little later in the show
He smiled at 12:40 when they made fun of his Bela Lugosi impression.
Gong show memories off top of my head: Gene Gene the Dancing Machine, juicy JP Morgan, Chuck Barris of course.. I was a teen then though..
And the Unknown Comic who always had a paper bag over his head.
And the singer, Cheryl Lynn, was also on there. That’s how she was discovered and ended up getting a recording contract.
Awww. I liked the Gong Show. And some people actually got discovered by being on there.
Oh so Dick Martin is the one who took that Waverly Wonders role that Larry Hagman passed up to take the JR Ewing role on DALLAS. 🤔😏
I said “gong show”
This episode hasn’t aired on GSN since 2001 due to the first round question about terrorists!
crissrudd4554 yes that’s 100 percent correct. I’m surprised Bummer airs it!
GSN is worse than youtube about censoring episodes.
I agree that none of them said amazing. Grace! That is such a beautiful song, and very biblical
I watched an episode today of MG 1975 on TV. Gene stated that he would never wear those “brown and white shoes “.
I've seen him wear brown & beige shoes.
My immediate answer was gong show and I wasn't around for it OR seen it hahaha
Christopher Lee also played Dracula, with Peter Cushing as Van. helsing
I think Brett was sloshed on this show.
That's not news. I wish they would have stopped it she was so obnoxious
Sloshed or not, she was the biggest reason the show flopped after Richard left. That old hag had no talent whatsoever.
name one she wasn't
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I just LOVE it when people make stupid assumptions on here
When wasn’t she ???? She was always half-in-the bag when the game started !
Richard still seems okay. Not exactly perky, but that's just Richard. He even smiled a couple of times!
Isn't that AWESOME?
He had pink eye. That hurts.
@@pencils812Yes it does. Feels like you have glass shards in your eye.

I can't BELIEVE Amazing Grace was't #1

Was this lorrie first time out
Yes
They all drank!!🤣🤣
did they bring that other contestant back again or did she just disappear?
I just looked up Lorrie Mahhafey's imdb page and they don't even list any show named "Legs" so I guess it didn't really "catch on"? Or even air?
It morphed into Who's Watching The Kids.

This was around the time when Bob Crane was murdered.
About two months after, right?
The tape date of this week’s episodes was June 25, 1978 and Bob Crane was murdered four days later on June 29th in Scottsdale, AZ

Certainly, a lot of them couldn't spell.
That "comedic effect" ploy was used to cover for the panel's stupidity.

Dawson acting like a jerk.
What's new
Nothing new. He acted like a miserable ***hole all the time. That’s why he couldn’t keep a woman, except Jody till she found him out.
