SLP “converted” Z28’s to SS’s. All SS’s were touched by SLP. There were no SS’s coming directly out of Chevrolet (Factories). The high flow air box lid was called the “whisper lid”, which I’m almost positive was not an SLP original. What was hugely popular from SLP (that was not standard SS equipment) was the SLP loudmouth exhaust. You knew it when you heard it. Funner Facts: SLP was also responsible for the Pontiac Firebird Firehawk, not to be confused with the WS6 … which (the WS6) Pontiac DID make. You could get a Firebird Formula (the sleeper) OR WS6 directly from Pontiac … and SLP made the Firehawk’s (which my guess is were made from Formula’s).
agreed with everything you said except the one that had piston slap, most ls1s had piston slap out of the factory and never effected the car for the life of it
That red and black Camaro... just think that some guy stood back and thought "fuck yea, this is a SEMA build." That is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen
I bought a 4th gen 6 speed Z28 a month ago, bought it off the guy who bought it new. I remember when he he brought it home 21 years ago. He had it parked in his Camaro/ Corvette museum the whole time.. I just bought a brand new 21 year old car. Total showroom condition. Was never listed or advertised anywhere. No plans to drag race it.
All 98-02 ss’s are “slp” every one comes with different wing, badging, 01-02 ls6 intake but the other things like slp air intake and exhaust were extra options. The visibility isn’t that bad I think it’s considerably better the 5th gen Camaros visibility. Definitely getting harder to find a clean one that isn’t big money especially manual or hardtop.
My 2003 VW GTI new had the CRAYON smell too! I heard that smell comes from the glue they use or the plastics. Haha Netgear is from Houston. I'm from there too.
80's 90's and 00's german cars, especially Vw's and Merc's all smell like crayons because they dont use foam as seat padding, its this weird plastic strand material that is woven almost like wicker furniture, and whatever its made out of gives it the smell.
They said the car needed a optispark, so that would mean it's an second gen LT1, which is a 5.7 V8. But I agree, a lot of people can easily put a badge on a V6.
I have a 96 with 125k on it. Its got 30 year old car problems (loose steering, a friendly oil leak, hood struts are going and hatch struts left for milk years ago) but I bought it earlier this year for 6900 and that damn thing always starts.
Ok my favorite cars for this game are cars that would be fun to have/drive but that i dont actually want to buy. The g35, and Corvette episodes just made me want to spend 10-15 grand
All the civics pre 2008 models are either stock or near stock and way overpriced or have a million mods no one wants and way overpriced. You can get an Si from 2010 for the same price as a non Si from like 98. From what I have seen anyways
I’ll be honest, I love the Catfish Camaro Z28 and SS. If I were to come across one that had been taken care of and was a color I liked with a six speed and the price was right I’d buy one right now.
Automatic transmissions in these cars kills me. And there’s always more of them for sale than manuals. I’ll see thumbnail of a catfish I think looks awesome (most of the time they are) but more times than not it’s an auto
you think the auto will go out kinda early even if you do transmission fluid changes and driving normally ? or you just saying it’s boring cause it’s not stick ?
@@michaelvargas8656 I feel like you need to do more with the auto like a shift kit and torque converter just to get it working well, but that’s just me. And I’ve seen more autos go out than I care to admit
@@michaelvargas8656 I’m just talking from my experience. Automatics are where it’s at if you live in a town or city, but country roads are where manuals shine
jesus I got my 93 camaro z28 with 113k miles with the lt1 with a whole bunch of mods done to it for 2500 people wanting over 20k for it is just crazy absurd to me and really makes me laugh
So in today's market the convertible SLP does not lose value. Honestly it's more expensive now VS the T-tops and hard tops because there's so very few now

The only real SLP cars were with LT engines.
Only SS cars with the RPO Y2Y were slp cars.
SLP is the GM version of Shelby/ Saleen
They tuned the cars and added performance upgrades to the cars

That one Camaro that was painted black over the red had a ram air hood from a Trans Am too. Mine has one
Trans Am we have at home
You guys make great content! I'd love to see a corvette video more specifically the c6
Got a Corvette video coming for you soon but SADLY it's not going to be the C6. We'll get there though

After buying a 83 Camaro Autoform for like 9k with 11k miles on BAT, I can confirm that Facebook marketplace sucks to buy Camaros.
Really enjoy the content, easy S+ tier. When’re y’all gonna do a Integra video?!

"Slide her my number" how fckn cheesey
I had a lot of fun in an ‘02 doing track days and found visibility to be quite good except a narrow spot around 7:30/4:30.
2:00 says z28. Probably not an actual z28 (v8) coming from Little Rock with 24’s, just rebadged. Siri play “24’s by TI”
That’s also where I stopped watching it and got stuck in a TI discography for over an hour. I’m back now.

80's Toyota seat foam. Those VOCs had a distinct smell.

Please stop calling all 4th Gens "catfish." Only the 98-02s look like catfish. That redesign really was a bad choice by GM.
