I got this achievement when I was just a noob with less than 10 hours in the game. It was a multiplayer game. I was a pocket in the black forest. And my allies finished the game by the time I started to boom and built some military buildings. Truly supremely unexpected, this one. But that was one hell of a game from SOTL though! Lots of love.
We need a mod that makes supremacy give aggro when attacked (like boars). No formation or anything, just aggro. That alone would make the tech INCREDIBLY more usefull
@@poyloos4834 i should check it again, but probably better than that, they are much better at taking out buildings. Halbs aren't great for raiding, but supremacy vilg are real monsters, close even to Huskrls given their cost.
score lead, I tried this and led in score by a ton and AI attacked me with everything. I quit and retried with huge score loss. It attacked with skirms once...

He must have pressed alt+G to activate friend or foe colours. Probably a mistake as Alt+ Right Click is used to garrison in the TC and G is the hotkey to send vils to work.
I could never pull such a thing off since I'm bad at mutlitasking in aoe. Also one thing for sure is that you won't need to worry about AI getting spies xD
If you just want the achievement, just make a 7 vs 1 post-imperial game on a tiny map with All Visible. Then attack the AI with your starting units to prevent it from building up. It'll resign eventually. And if it doesn't, just sit back and let the other AI's finish it off.
I was trying to get this achievement and do the winter challenge at once, but realised Christmas dinner was going to be soon and couldn't cut it that tight. So I had to just drop a castle on the ai's town centre called it a game xD
there needs to be a specific AI that solely goes full supremacy on a game... imagine a super hard AI controlling each villager as a regular army... no delayt btw attacks... that would be... op AF

I remember watching Viper get the achievement in a ladder game. The amount of micro required is insane but they are absurdly powerful when fully set up with 15-20 TC's pumping out vills, some civs (particularly meso) really suck against killing vills. They take twice as many FU arb shots as halbs whilst being cheap as chips and doing nearly as much building DPS as a mangonel.
I just watched your "Tricks I use to play faster" video about making sure to use the market if your in the position your in in Feudal. Then I watched you with a market on screen and 200 wood wondering what to do to get 50 food to go up to castle xD A perfect illustration of your point 😊
But they will also need less houses to get that pop back up. It really doesn't matter. Incans get 10 pop per house built and lose 10 per house destroyed. Other civs get 5. The rate at which you get pops is the same at which you lose them.

Yes non-Incans have to build 2 houses for 10 pop, but that was never the discussion made here. I'm talking about Civ builds house, house gives X pop, house gets destroyed, civ loses X pop. And this is the same for both Incans, where X = 10 and other civs (let's say Spain), where X = 5. On a "per-house" basis, it really doesn't matter. Incans gain as much population per house built as they lose per house destroyed. Spain gains as much population per house built as they lose per house destroyed. That was the entire point I tried to make. Both have building times and cannot rebuild instantly, so you can take that out of the equation.
@@ThorsShadow I understand but what i mean That if are attacking and doing x number of damge The x number of damge is going to destroy y number of houses Spanish houses have double the value so that means your x number of damge/second is going to get hin closer to the food cap faster So if u can destroy 2 houses with that time and u are fighting a random siv u can only cost him 10 foodsupply and this is not enough to hit food cap But with vs them u are making him lose 20 which will reach the food block Now they need to rebuild Okay they may rebuild faster (2x speed) but this time he is going to lose production time for viligers or units In other sivs destroying 10 food supplies (2 houses for example) su is not a granted food block So the answer is yes it have more value because your dps is going to destroy more food cap per second and may increase the chances of making them hitting supply block
i think we have different DE versions, this is like Moderate Ai for me. My extreme Ai booms like crazy and then 20 minutes in sends a swarm of cavaliers and champions my way lmao
sometimes the AI goes for that weird skirmisher archer spearman mass trash rush. sometimes the AI goes for completely wrecking the living crap out of you with knights. Its always the one you expect the least
The AI will either annihilate your existence with cavaliers and champions or get absolutely trashed trying to build skirmishers, there is no inbetween.
I've got to say, I thoroughly enjoy your breakdown videos, but I enjoy your gameplay ones even more if that is even possible. I hope you do more, even if they are just achievement runs in the campaign and custom battles!

I'd love to see you play Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds (a very similar RTS by Ensemble on the same game engine). It would be really interesting to see you finding your way around the differences and similarities with AoE2.
My Strategy to get the achievement was to play entirely defensively build up and economy and make my village as heavily defended as possible with walls, towers, and castles, then build a wonder and wait 500 years until I automatically win the game. might not be a popular method of completing the achievement but it worked
I remember that in one video, Spirit of the Law said gg to the AoE II HD edition AI, just in case if the robots ever organized an uprising, he would be on their good side. AI replying this time, made me think... What if Spirit of the Law actually was on to something?
There is a much easier way: just lock the game to dark age and do a villager rush. The AI can't handle that. Villagers with loom are even better than militia.
Thx, after seeing you do it, I tried. Went reasonably well! You're too right about score lead as I tried once and had score lead and AI crushed me. I did a 2nd time and just boomed quietly at home...was hard fought as they went eagles; but in the end I won. Got both achievements! :) woot.
actually for most red-green colour"blind" people it is way harder to see the difference between: yellow and light green , blue and purple , pink and grey. that are mostly the troubled areas. i speak out of experience :)
you speak out of your experience. not all colorblindness is the same. my father has trouble with orange and green, bright red and bright green, brown and green, purple in general. he said my brown dog was the same color as grass, which was super green at the time. and said my orange dune buggy was "avocado green" (granted it was a kind of faded orange, but very clearly orange for people with normal color vision), and also called a bright red jeep lime green.
Did you ever hear of Enchroma glasses? When you are colour blind that is, because the overlap of the spectrum of 2 of your colour receptors is to big and that confuses your brain. Thos glasses filter out that certain part of the spectrum and after a few minutes of wearing them you will see colours like someone who isnt colourblind.
Going on your suspicion, I've noticed that when I play 4-player (1v3AI) games, I always just hard-boom and have a massive score, and very rarely get attacked. When I do get attacked, I usually have a lower score, win against the AI (I only play vs Hard), gain a huge score lead, then suddenly don't get attacked.
Spirit, my advice to maybe do this more efficiently just do some woden walls so you close his running around :)) I usually use this tactic walling around my opponent so he cant run or hide
Would be neat if there was a mod that can deploy garrisoned villagers as a unique villager-militia unit. They get a bit of armor and can come out as infantry or with their bows.

It's a nomad map type achievement, I've met ranked players (low elo) that did actually fight only using villagers for first 50 minutes, after that losing one did make military so winning one did as well and completely shut him down :P (non of them was spanish though xD) Winner did two TC drops, first one was success and was random, as he didn't know enemy TC would be in range lol and other one was on purpose, as they did a lot of villager fighting so I guess he decided just to keep it up for fun and dropped another TC which was fend off and destroyed thanks to support tower. Anyway it was incredible to watch, especially that the winner didn't build first TC for long, putting two villagers on lumber and one on fish with port, then making some fishing ships and after he build TC he went straight faudal with still 3 starting villagers lol
One of the first Achievements i got on De. Also works against Humans in Ranked games both 1v1 and Team games. But I did it as Tower rush into decently fast Imp because getting to Imp is impossible otherwise.
I'm just a casual player, and this is the first time I'm watching an expert player play. I'm confused by SOTL making a farm while he still has 4 sheep, a bunch of berries, and 3 deer available. What the hell, is this normal?
This definitely isn't expert play, but adding a few farms in dark age is fairly common. Once the boar are done you usually have too many villagers to take from a sheep at once, so it helps to have a few villagers farming and makes the rest of them more efficient. Slowly adding farms also lets you avoid having to pay for all of them at once when the last sheep runs out, and means they won't all come up for reseeding at the same time later.
I did this archievement as a 1500 on my friends 1300 account. I ended the game vill rushing his castle. He seemed to do everything right with crossbows and later knights, but well, nobody expects it 11. He wasnt even mad and laughed
the AI saying "gg wp" was the highlight
I liked that it blamed it on losing a villager to the boar.
At least it is not the feminist AI who would complain about having male villagers at the start.

Actually taking out incan houses is better cause they lose 10 pop instead of 5 pop.
But they will also need less houses to get that pop back up. It really doesn't matter. Incans get 10 pop per house built and lose 10 per house destroyed. Other civs get 5. The rate at which you get pops is the same at which you lose them.

I got the achievement earlier today by trying the wonder race game mode with random civ, I only bought the game last week so it was indeed unexpected
for a no castle drop attempt, you can try to wall your enemy in so you can force favourable fights

You should do this as burgundy with the intent to do a flemish militia spam at the end.
There is a much easier way: just lock the game to dark age and do a villager rush. The AI can't handle that. Villagers with loom are even better than militia.

Set the AI to very easy. They surrender as soon as you kill any of their units

If you're fighting with villagers you need to fill your command groups.

I got this achievement while playing against AI with a few friends. They eventually asked me to send help, I sent resources instead.
You make it look easy. Tried the same thing with the Hard difficulty and it took 4 tries. The AI also randomly choose Britains which helped.
Viper used this once in a team game.
and he just built bombard tower pretty much everywhere,
than the opponents resigned.

This is beyond the limit of my understanding. Perhaps this is a supreme military tactics I should try.
If anyone else is going to try this, keep in mind that villagers can be shift-queued to attack, unlike military units. Can help slightly with micro!

It's a nomad map type achievement, I've met ranked players (low elo) that did actually fight only using villagers for first 50 minutes, after that losing one did make military so winning one did as well and completely shut him down :P (non of them was spanish though xD)
Winner did two TC drops, first one was success and was random, as he didn't know enemy TC would be in range lol and other one was on purpose, as they did a lot of villager fighting so I guess he decided just to keep it up for fun and dropped another TC which was fend off and destroyed thanks to support tower.
Anyway it was incredible to watch, especially that the winner didn't build first TC for long, putting two villagers on lumber and one on fish with port, then making some fishing ships and after he build TC he went straight faudal with still 3 starting villagers lol

One of the first Achievements i got on De. Also works against Humans in Ranked games both 1v1 and Team games. But I did it as Tower rush into decently fast Imp because getting to Imp is impossible otherwise.

I'm just a casual player, and this is the first time I'm watching an expert player play. I'm confused by SOTL making a farm while he still has 4 sheep, a bunch of berries, and 3 deer available. What the hell, is this normal?
This definitely isn't expert play, but adding a few farms in dark age is fairly common. Once the boar are done you usually have too many villagers to take from a sheep at once, so it helps to have a few villagers farming and makes the rest of them more efficient. Slowly adding farms also lets you avoid having to pay for all of them at once when the last sheep runs out, and means they won't all come up for reseeding at the same time later.

I did this archievement as a 1500 on my friends 1300 account. I ended the game vill rushing his castle. He seemed to do everything right with crossbows and later knights, but well, nobody expects it 11. He wasnt even mad and laughed
