I have anxiety and depression but it got better after my first trip to Japan. I love their forest/mountain temple/shrine which has that spiritual feeling that I felt at ease and calm. Ever since then, every time I feel anxious and depressed, I'll watch your videos which brings me back there from where I am as a part of my therapy. On that note, just want to say, I absolutely love your videos! :)
Thank you for sharing your story! Glad we can be of some help with your anxiety and depression. We'll have a few more relaxing videos like these coming up :)
My family visited the Kamakura Temple for 4-5 times within these 14 years. Love the place, the atmosphere, the city itself, and many things there. During watching this video, I also looked at the picture of The Great Buddha, which I got from this temple on my desk too. We will go back to Japan whenever we can. Love from Thailand.
Probably the most I've walked in my life. I walked to most of the small shrines in one direction then back to the giant Buddha in the opposite direction 🤣 totally worth it the small shrines had zero crowds. Yes I could have taken the bus but it was all on the path on google maps
So peaceful and beautiful video , Thank You . I miss Japan and when this nasty pandemic is over , my family will visit Japan again . Please always keep Japan safe clean orderly , kind ....as it has always been . Love to. Japan. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. From USA .
Japan is indeed a very unique place culture heritage food Education, technology tourism and many more the best place to spend a great day's in your life 💐
That’s my hometown! Since I’m now in Tokyo and haven’t been able to travel back because of COVID, it is so nice to see these familiar scenes this way. Thanks for the video!
With my son, we visited the Great Buddha in Kamakura. I had awful lower back pain from walking for hours in Tokyo the week before. Like from 0 to 10 it was as 15. Once I was on the site, my pain level went down to around 4. It stayed like this for about 2 hours after we left. Thanks for this amazing and peaceful video.
I booked for a trip to Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka in April 2020. It was cancelled do to Covid-19 pandemic. It was supposed to be a holiday gift for my parents. We all love Japan. Hope we can travel to Japan soon.
It hurts my soul the fact that it's so easy to realize the footage is from before the whole coronavirus situation. People without masks, tourists, no social distancing, people on the streets, the stores are open... I truly hope it's over soon and we can go back to the time when we were not afraid for our lives whenever we bumped into someone.
Kamakura was one of my personal highlights in travelling Japan in 2019. It was so calm yet beautiful. I remember going to a tiny vegan restaurant, where the owner hosted me so lovely and tried her utmost to speak English. I promised I would be able to speak Japanese when I came back. Next year I hopefully(!) will be back , and I don't plan on breaking my promise :)
Kamakura is the place where I first had a date with my, now, partner. It breaks my heart that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I had to cancel all my trips to Japan. However, watching this video really gives me hope that this pandemic too shall pass. Thank you for your video.
We also hope it shall pass as soon as possible, we really miss being on the road travelling. However safety first, so we hope everybody is safe and healthy!
@@japanguide So anyway, how's the condition in Japan in general? I heard from my friends there that around 60%-80% of the usual crowd has been out on the road again, especially in Tokyo, since the state of emergency has been lifted by the PM. Is it true? how about the other cities? I also heard that some iconic shops in Osaka have to close due to the pandemic.. :'(
We’ve never been to Kamamura yet. Hopefully Japan lifts the visa suspension soon so we can go back and enjoy the country’s beautiful and scenic spots again 😥😥😥..
All the videos on Japan are very good and definitely Japan will be more beautiful than the video. Please put the date and month when the video was taken. Would help us in planning to visit Japan.
I have been traveling Japan for the last 2 years by car …. went from Kyushu to Hokkaido with my car and in Okinawa by rent car and have been recording in video and photograph all my trips … there are amazing locations besides tourist spots … I’m a road explorer , if you travel in Japan and can drive in Japan …. do it !!!
Fabulous, many years ago, I visited Kamakura, and I actually felt true peace, whilst there. I arrived too late in the day to be able to go inside the bronze statue. I have also pictures of Kamakura, in a old video I made on my channel. 5 * * * * *
Kamakura is cool. Be sure to get there really early. I got there around noontime as a daytrip from Tokyo and it was just not enough time. I wish i got there early early like at 8 so that I could have explored more and maybe visit enoshima as well.
While Im enjoying the current bgm, maybe you can reuse some relaxing bgm from previous episode like trip to nikko, towada, hieizan, koyasan, and kiso valley for future video like this. Those are the most enjoyable & chill trip I've ever watched from this channel 😇.
When I saw the word "Kamakura" I remember that this is the place where Mai and Sakuta from the anime Bunny Girl Senpai supposed to have their first date.
May I ask.. If I follow this UA-cam video to get around Kamakura, is it in order from one place to another ? Also is it doable in one day and back to Tokyo ? 🙏🙏🙏
This video was made more to show some of the scenic spots of Kamakura. But if you are looking for a full day itinerary from Tokyo, we have a dedicated page on the subject here: www.japan-guide.com/e/e3121_kamakura_full.html Hope this helps!
I am so sad. My mum tell me travelling is waste of time and money, ask me work until old then go travel. The world is still there. I think anyone can die anytime. By the way j am reaching 50. Yet i cannot make decision. Sad life I decided to watch all your vedios. Since i cant go. The nearest country i go is Malaysia. Just a 20min walk across the boarder.

If I manage to visit Japan again in the future, Kamakura is definitely on my list 👍
I have been inside the great Daibutsu on my way to Hakone. A very memorable trip!
There‘s a doorway at the left-side of the Kamakura Daibutsu (鎌倉大仏: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a9/Kamakura_Daibutsu_rear.jpg ).

That's a good tip, we filmed the Great Buddha scenes at the opening and it was amazing to see nobody around.
