The laser pistols are hidden gems among all the weapons. At first they seem to be a worse counterpart of normal pistols: Worse attacks power, worse impact, worse lingering impact... but when you factored in their HUGE ammo capacities, and the fact that with disciplined trigger fingers, these puppies almost NEVER overheat, suddenly you now have one of the best close-range weapon in the game.
Ive been rocking the laser pistols since they unlocked and never looked back. They've been in virtually every single build I used to complete the end game and am still using them for ng+3 run
I think most people don't realize how much better they get with the correct generator. With the 150 EN weapon specialization they shred (as Oro demonstrated)
Close-ish range. Other than missiles most weapons aren't really effective beyond 250m. These have an ideal range of 190. They have much better cooling than the lightest laser rifles with only slightly less range and damage making them a much better pick overall (since you can fire longer)
@@CreativityNull This is the big one for me - the range on the pistols is very similar to the assault rifles, making them a better analogue to those than to the pistols. This allows you to out-range most other weapons outside of the various rifles, and with their light weight, you can generally dictate the range of engagement in a fight.
@@Khotetsu that's why I love them on light builds. Super versatile while remaining light and still hugely damaging. The heaviest 2 laser rifles are the only ones really worth picking up IMO over the laser pistols.
I will say, because of their ability to dip between short and mid range on the FCS scale, I made a somewhat different build than Oro's so I can use the Talbot FCS.

The handguns are a bit deceiving when it comes to range. Unlike regular handguns, who already ricochet at like 120m, the laser handguns do full damage (or close to it) up to around 230-240m (tested against inactice test AC pre-patch).
it always tickles me when I make a build for fun thinking it's bad then suddenly it appears on this channel. It took me so long to find the right combo of parts to make this work
One thing to note is thst laser orbits do not benefit from energy specialization and have the same damage regardless of generator.
Swap the head for shade eye and you can fit melander c3 arms for even better arm tracking btw.
And make the build look cooler doing it.
I haven't played since about 2001 or so (PS1). I loved all the armored core releases for that platform. Fast forward to learning last May that AC6 was about to release, I bought a PS5 and pre-ordered the game. I love it, NG++, yada yada. I was slow to enter the PVP, knew I would get my clock cleaned. I used this build exactly for my first PVP and surprised myself. I won about 40% of the fights and one match. Thanks Oro!

is it just me, or does both the shoulder and handgun look kinda like the plasma caster and handeld plasma caster from predator.
It’s probably the idea fromsoftware was going for. It’s just way to similar in appearance
I know there are some other games you will focus more from now on but I really hope you keep making more ac6 content from time to time. I love the game and love your videos about it.

My main craft is very similar to this. I use the Kasuar RJ legs, and I use one laser handgun and one laser shotgun, with their opposites in the weapon bay. I fire them until they overheat, then switch to the next pair. It's a relentless barrage of damage that absolutely melts with the 150 EN Firearm Spec.
Not only is it effective and versatile, but it's also crazy fun to use. I highly recommend it.

This kind of build is my go to. Been messing around lately with the laser handguns and aurora cannons on the missile lock FCS.

I have a build somewhat close to this in terms of armaments. I use a laser pistol and the first laser rifle (small one I guess) laser drones and laser turret. Works nicely in PvE. Not sure about PvP.
I've been running a build like this since I started pvping in this game and the playstyle with laser pistols is so satisfying. Just a good consistent ultralight with no super negative matchups.
These ac6 videos are so addicting to watch , I hope arsenal videos come out weekly bc these are extremely entertaining to watch

I did this but a lighter build with the light RJ legs, VE-20B, talbot, and plasma missile launchers with the ephemera core, but with firmeza arms for the balance between firearm specialization and recoil control.
I swap boosters depending on the situation. Usually go between gils (mostly for the QB efficiency, not the reload speed on QB, with it also having a decent basic boost speed) or bluezel (when I REALLY need that assault boost speed)

been using this same weapon setup for my sazabi build for a while now. and it looks even better on a lighter build
I like how Oro is back after month of absence and now catching up to all meta builds
So I just got the game a few days ago, just beat ice worm, and my primary build is a biped with the laser pistol in the off hand, the 70vpm plasma missile launcher on one shoulder, the vp60lcs on the other (though I'm going to test to the LCD there soon to see which performs better with my play style) and the 760PR plasma in my main hand. I fire off the missiles while shooting them with the rifle and the pistol while charging the laser cannon, when they're close to staggering, I fire another barrage of missiles and the pistol while charging the rifle. Then I hit them with the cannon and the rifles charged shot. It works pretty well and reminds me of this build. Loving the game so far.

I've been running dual laser pistols with two of the 6x plasma launchers, I've been very impressed with how it shreds in PVE.
With the 150 energy firearm spec from the VE-20B, you get +25% damage with energy weapons, and also a 0.5x speed for charged attacks.
It's worth noting this doesn't apply to the drones here, ONLY to energy weapons that can be charged (and the pulse guns / light wave cannon)
I actually completed my first playthrough with a build very similar to this. But I replaced one of the laser drones with a back carried pulse blade so I could switch and punish staggers on bosses. I also wasn't using the 150 gen though so not as good as your build.
Have you tried this build with Dual 45-091 Orbits? They shred and dont have a hard time keeping up with the faster builds as much as the bits do. Also theyre lighter than the bits and free up some speed
Ran this since the beginning on a bit lighter mech with dual orbits instead of the drones, you can choose to pull back the orbits when you want to cool them down in anticipation for a fight

With the distances you're typically beasting on your opponents at, you could even run the 2nd -BOT model FCS (i forget the name at the time, i think it's the TALBOT)
I have a fun time with a set similar to this with the laser pistols and the laser turrets. Setting up a trap with the turrets is so satisfying.
I think it comes down to taste and play style. I love the turrets.

for me its the dual laser handguns and dual vertical plasma missiles. raining plasma from unexpected directions is great
This kinda reminds me of the build I made after wanting to get my energy weapons build to use the veB.
Called it lemon zest and themed it after RaD. Used the mind alpha core cause I wanted to be a bit tankier than ephemera. might see what back weapons I can get out of it if I swap to tool arms, that would make 3 RaD parts seeing as I use carla's head.
Missiles are fine but I could do better.
I personally use the triple booster but I can see myself trying HaL. Not trying the BST though Im not that bold.
One time i was trying my absolute damndest to make a LW Tetrapod build, i knew instantly i wanted to dual weild laser pistols alongside the orbit laser drones, it took a lot of tweaking and a lot of experimentation but its a pretty fun build thats actually pretty good
Honestly the build looks cool and the paint job makes it look like something from gundam. Honestly drip and use are both 10/10

Made a variant with Basho head, G2/PO4 Booster and dual laser cannons on the back. The damage is kinda nuts.
Dual laser handguns were my weapons of choice for most of my playthrough. My solution didn't allow for the best energy weapon generator, but I found that just using all Nachtreiher parts (except the shade eye head for coolness and less energy burden), and using Alula boosters, gave me incredible boost, quick boost, and tracking (thanks to the max firearm specialization). The downside of my build is that I had to settle for plasma and split missiles, but the damage and tracking of the dual handguns AND being extremely fast more than makes up for it. Talbot FCS for great close to mid range, since that is where I found myself alternating most of the time. There's probably a better choice for the FCS though. I could fit all of that on the second best generator for energy weapons, with 100 Energy firearm spec or something like that
Im not sure ill ever see anything as cool, flashy and holding the power of deletion like your HAL 9000 build.
i use this build and personally think the close range FCS is preferred, since the pistols ideal range isn't super high
That build at the end was kinda crazy, the dude knew what he was doing too and their mech and emblem were stylish. I bet they didn't even change it after the nerfs to stun needle.

I was going to say this could be an early game PvP build that can used well but then I remembered the Ephemera Core (its in Ch.4)
I made a similar build with laser orbits and the EN WPN generator.... pretty solid.

I’ve been using 2 LH with 2 LD’s on a light weight with 150 generator for the last whole month! It was a total pain getting it to even run without going over EN load. Good job making it work, I know what that took lmao.

I have a very close build but one shoulder weapon is the normal drones bc I just notice it’s more chaotic and harder to dodge in the arena

My setup is similar to this, but I have the Laser Shotgun on my right hand, as a burst blast. Tho that's for PVE, since you can land hits better... I just like the charging blast aspect.
I think the colour aesthetic of this build could be used with Nightfall's aesthetics. Something about those Arms and Legs looks menacing.

you're a real VE-20B gamer when your energy surplus is single digit T_T i have a similar pistol build but i like to use the 60LT lazer turrets and focus on kiting

You keep choosing the BST-G2/P06SPD over the ALULA, and I wanted to ask why? I usually compare the two and on most of my builds (if i remember correctly) the ALULA loses 10 boost speed but gains 50+ quick boost speed, along with some other benefits that make me favor it almost always.

Did you try new and improved aurora? I you are already sacrificing generator stats for VE-20B, you might as well fit them instead of one or both drones, as they'll also benefot from energy adjustment. They are also quite okay at melting shields.

Dual Homing missiles plus dual laser pistols, frickin destroy every enemy and boss in game, my PvE build is this with shade eye, alba core, nachtreiher arms, alba legs, SPD booster, P10SLT fcs, CO1G AORTA and assault armor, 381 boost speed, 9300 AP, great recovery from stagger, 104 tracking, wolverine beast mode, this rig is lightning fast and I've managed to S rank every replay mission I decide to speed run objectives, try it out see what you think, I love Lazuli build as well might give it a whirl and see if it compares well to mine...

I use a similar build and it absolutely destroys bosses in the game, it's so powerful I have a hard time using my other builds
The auroras are a good fit on a dual laser pistol build, since they also benefit from energy weapon spec now
