One of the best things he does is say things like "I'm so sorry." Someone just acknowledging that your pain is real is extremely beneficial mentally. GREAT WORK!!
I would think the better thing to do is provide re-assurance with something like "It's okay" instead of saying sorry. "Sorry" may imply that something went wrong

I love that this guy explained and demonstrated every single aspect of what he is doing and why! I have NEVER had a visit like this!
i would venture to say if a guy that young is having all these issues from lifting weights he probably needs a trainer to critique his form.
He did mention that a lot of these injuries started when he was 16 so hopefully he’s adapted better form since then but it probably would be a good idea.
@@leandemonn he probably hasn’t tho. He’s def compensating if his body is outta line
Bad posture and lifting weights, bad combo
Form is very rarely the reason for injury. Doing too much, especially too soon, is far more often central to injury occurring. Huge misconception amongst newer/non (even experienced) lifters. That said, getting a coach would be a good shout for reducing the chance of injury, but mainly for load management, not form related, reasons.
@@chadpezza307 Perhaps dude! No way to know either way without more information and lifting injuries typically have a multifactorial etiology (many causes at once). From my experience though, most young guys love to train close to failure too often and with too much per session volume. Its more often those squatting 225lbs, not 5/600lbs, doing too much without giving their bodies (particularly connective tissue) time to adapt to new training loads
I love seeing how he describes everything very accurately and thoroughly rather than the classic chiropractor that goes, “let me crack that” (coming from a PT)
I loved all of this. A good chiropractor with knowledge of not just the skeletal aspects but how it connects to the nerves, etc… so good. I could watch this all day.

@@filthyflop5721 I have the same shoulder grind issue how did u fix it ?
I'm literally in the same situation. I always had back problems, a stiff neck, and left shoulder pain. I played sports all my life and got in 2 major car accidents. My spine was messed up and my nerves were damaged to where it made parts of my neck and left arm numb. Also hard to breathe but I didn't realize till after treatment. That crunchy shoulder noise is literally what I had. It all felt funny but never hurt so I ignored it. I was 17 then and now I'm 20 and it got worse to the point where I have had sleepless nights and the pain wouldn't let me think straight. I'm going on my 3rd month of seeing a chiropractor and physical therapy. After my 2nd intense session, anytime I would get excited or angry I would get very lightheaded because my brain was used to much lower nerve signals sent to my brain. My chiropractor told me he was amazed I went that long in the condition I was in and thought I was fine.
That's crazy bro hope everything goes well.
Hope u get back strong
I have this same issue. For breathing, try diaphragmatic breathing, it will take the pressure off the upper back. This simple trick helped me at least control that aspect of pain.
Try not to hold things in your hands for extended periods. I use a Levo Bookholder, to hold my iPad, for hands free. Saves the neck.
I hope you find pain relief. Get a referral to a Pain specialist. You need to get out of the cycle of “suffering”. Pain can be managed.
That thing about the atlas bone was crazy. I have the same thing it turns out, just switch the sides. You could feel the bone on my left side, but not on my right. I've felt that my neck/head isn't really in balance(where it wants to be isn't the correct place to use the mans own words). A couple of years ago I had Bell's Palsy affecting the right side of my face and ever since then my hearing in the right ear have sometimes been a little sensitive and I sometimes feel a tingling sensation there. Bell's Palsy is inflamation/swelling of the 7th cranial nerve, which just so happens to go right beside the hearing nerve, and when the 7th cranial nerve gets swollen it will press on the hearing nerve and you guys get where this is going...
As I lay here in bed and tilt my head to the left to "even out" the Atlas bone I can feel something happening in my ear, my shoulder suddenly feels a little less rigid, my right side of my hips(which have been ridiculously tight) started to loosen up a bit, my left side(going all the way from shoulder and back down to hips and even feet) feels a bit more responsive(for a long time I've had issues with mind-muscle connection on my left side).
Simply crazy
The muscles on the left of my spine, from hip to base of the skull, are so tight that when I do a dead hang from a pull-up bar, my torso cants to the left. My whole left side seems to be higher than my right. I stretch and massage myself all the time. I need constant massage and chiropractic. Probably PT as well
@@caleb3909 What the guy's describing is definitely not normal. Some deviations are to be expected, but if they are this pronounced and/or affect your quality of life, they need to be addressed
Strengthen your other side. Stretching and massaging is only a start
It has to be a whole package. Just stretching won't fix the weakness in the joints and muscles. It stays imbalanced.
You need to stretch, deep tissue massage and do strength training.
Y’all are correct, and I know I am too inactive and need to build muscles, glutes especially. Seems this is a big part of the problem as far as I can tell

The twist looks so painful but the moment right after the popping sound it feels so relieving. And the stone oil scrub called “gua sha” ever since I was a kid I’ve seen my parents do that when they get sick, and they feel good immediately. It’s been around for thousands of years
Everytime I see a younger person, I think how great and much of a benefit it is to become aware of posture and stretching at a younger age before long term problems happen. I feel like it should be more talked about in physical education in HS. I can't remember ever being taught the benefits long term to just being conscious about this stuff

@@bosoxdanc1 exactly. Saw a chiro for mine shoulder and it did nothing but make it worse. Saw a Dr, torn labrum that was causing the popping.
Depending on the cause of the “grinding” and “popping” you may never be able to make it stop and in fact often time that’s normal and ok. If you’re concerned I’d recommend seeing a physio or a doctor (if you think there may be an actual injury present), but generally speaking knees, shoulders, and many other joints pop and make a pseudo grinding sound in a non-pathological way so if you’re not feeling pain or instability or some other symptoms when the shoulder pops or grinds I wouldn’t sweat it unless of course there was a particular incident in which you were injured and the shoulder started doing that afterwards.

The chiropractor before that was trying to help you. The fact that you don’t let people do their job makes no sense
I’m the first few seconds hearing that shoulder I felt better knowing I’m not the only one with a shoulder like that
All of those times that he cracks his neck, I’m just amazed as to how the neck can snap back into place without breaking the bone.
Not going to lie, his shoulder in the beginning scared the shit out of. That sound was just wild
On the scraping… what is it doing? And what were the “marks” you were referring to? I’m very interested in that technique
Releasing built up tension in the muscles
Opens up some of the blood vessels on the surface to release some of that built up tension and pressure
This made me realize just how important ur posture is, and also that I have pretty much all of the same problems as the kid in the video, I just don’t have any good chiropractics in my city that I can go get it fixed
The fact that they are people there who feel my pain is relieving.

Most informative video I’ve seen on this yet. I have a neck injury from a fall, get spasms frequently.. the chiropractor I was going to only cracked my neck and sent me home… for a year!! Thanks for sharing.
Poor guy. He’s got incredible strength to be persisting through all this joint instability all these years. It’s sad, though, because a healthy majority of his pain could probably have been alleviated, if not fully avoided, from prioritizing technique first over load while lifting, stretching & warming before and after exercise, and getting checked out sooner rather than later. That said, it sure as hell ain’t as easy to pick up on these habits as a kid as it is as an adult. Kudos to him for finding a chiro and taking charge while he’s still young. I pray for a quick and painless recovery and wish this lad all the best! 💙

I've had the shoulder scapula thing for many years. It wasn't till later in life that it became something more and an on again and off again thing. Over time my body had enough of both massage therapist and chiropractor working on it. And I called it quits for that issue and it's also the left shoulder blade area.
The Chiropractor is one of the best groomed, pleasant, professional and comforting Chiropractic doctors I have seen. He is also very good with his patient as he informs him what to expect. He continually is speaking to his patient ensuring he is at ease with the situation. His patient certainly is able to endure more pain than most people. The neck and shoulder cracking had to be at least uncomfortable. The marks on his upper torso left tension/burn marks. I am sure he felt skin burn for a couple of days.
