LEUKAEMIA - were a UK Hc/Punk band who existed from the early to mid 1980’s. They came from Peterborough and Stamford in the East of England. They were part of a thriving punk scene in that area at the time which included other notable bands such as The Destructors-/Peterborough/, English Dogs and countless others. Their influences at the time were bands like The Stranglers, Rudimentary Peni, Discharge and US hardcore which you can hear in their songs. This 7” EP was originally their 1st demo tape recorded in a studio in Peterborough during November, 1984.
Actually, we were NOT influenced by The Stranglers - this is a piece of mis-information and no similarity between us and them is evident. I learned to play bass by playing along to the records but that is the only connection and that is where any connection stops. I was MUCH more influenced by Grant Matthews from Rudimentary Peni and Klaus Flouride from The Dead Kennedys.
Punk is the first heavy aggressive music It needs more recognition, the metal scene is awful sell out bands to many copying each other same digital sound no passion nothing original not singing about anything important,,punk is the king of music
