I have a dewalt dw402 also. wiring a new cord on, 2 wires in, but 4 terminals on the switch. do you know the correct connections? maybe a picture. I looked on youtube for hours with no help.

The guy tells you black is for brass and white is for silver terminal on the power side. Go directly to 8:00 to see the work on the switch.

half the ring gear is gone thats your problem, could of been cause by a sloppy bearing though
you could replace the ring and pinion+ the main bearing but youd be better off buying a new grinder and keeping thatas a spare motor/switch

@@IntoTheDirtshop Thanks for the info. Turns out my DW402 is the older generation of grinders. The attachments are different. I found one that has a clamp on system with 40mm inner diameter clamp, the grinder is 38mm so it should work.
ok so my baring was totally fd up. How do I order the part. The label on my grinder is missing and I can t find a picture of my grinder anywhere online.

Buy a harbor freight grinder, it's 10 bucks and works

Mine did same thing. New part is over $40. Not worth fixing if tool is half dead. Buy a new DWE402. Parts are cheaper for new model. Sell the old one.

It is assumed that this instruction is to teach a safe and technical way to disarm the tool, not an instruction how to break it. I should take it out of UA-cam, learn HOW NOT TO BREAK THE LID OF THE OUTPUT AXLE ASSEMBLY by disassembling this for the ball bearing change at least and then upload the video again. I'm still looking for that information because neither a postmortem is made to the broken piece to learn from the error as it is that the parts come out without damaging anything.

Se supone que este instructivo es para enseñar una manera segura y técnica de desarmar la herramienta no un instructivo de como romperla. deberia sacarla de UA-cam, aprender COMO NO ROMPER LA TAPA DE ALOJAMIENTO DEL CONJUNTO DEL EJE DE SALIDA al desarmar este para el cambio de cojinete de bolas al menos. sigo buscando esa información pues ni un posmorten se le hace a la pieza rota para aprender del error como es que salen las partes sin dañar nada.

Yo he tenido ese modelo de esmeril y es el peor modelo q puso a la venta la empresa dewalt. Malísima...muy mala. Calidad. la corona. Trae una aleación muy pobre. Tienden a barrerse
