That was a very informative, interesting, and well-narrated video, thank you. The cleaning (03:39) and disinfecting (05:25) of the poultry shed, including the microbiological swab tests (06:17), is highly relevant to our situation in spring of 2020, with highly-infectious and potentially-deadly SARS-CoV-2 virus particles seeming to contaminate everything worldwide. I wish that the interiors of aircraft and airports, trains, buses, and their stations, grocery stores, and other public surfaces were routinely cleaned, disinfected, and swab tested as conscientiously as that poultry shed was.
That was incredible. I wish the U.S. poultry industry took such steps to reduce the spread of bacteria in its plants. Sad to say it would take a national catastrophic pandemic to force change in this country. I have one thought about this video though. Where does the waste water and chemicals go after the process is completed? How is the runoff contained and treated before it is released back into the environment?
Some companies within the US poultry does. At our breeder hen houses almost the exact same method is used minus they mechanized aspect. We are responsible for the litter clean out but after that complete washing is followed by 2 types of disinfectant. 300 swabs are taken per bird space and once those are cleared it becomes a shower in facility. Swabs are taken every 3 weeks unless it’s being shipped internationally then the SOP is weekly cleft swabs and blood samples. Veterinarians also do on site inspections for health papers and field techs do monthly bio security and animal welfare training along with weekly inspections to insure protocol is followed
that’s a very very high quality & standards of work .. what a great way of even checking the bacteria on floors n feeding houses via strips .. well done 10/10 cannot fault the services & high class standards
If people maintained their vehicles to this standard, the automotive manufacturers would go broke...people expect this of farmers...but would never do this level in their own lives. Awesome company...too bad it is necessary to go this far.
Good job fellas. Its a dirty job but someone has to do it. Feels good doing hard labor especially when you take pride in your work like these guys seem to. I do drywall, hard and dirty work too lol, but I try to be as professional and organized on my job sites as I can be.

Not possible in most of the houses I've seen. Most houses have dirt floors. This procedure would turn the house into a muddy headache. Besides, it's not economical for the farmers in the US to do this. There just isn't that much of a gain for what I suspect to be a service that costs thousands of dollars for a marginal increase in chicken performance.
Chicken is the least expensive meat, their margins are really low, doing expensive cleaning like that would make that business operate even lower or lose money. This is reserved for the most developed European countries whose citizens have more money to pay for chicken so farmers can afford cleaning that expensive and extensive. In other cases, they have should do it once a year, or when infection breaks, they do not have that luxury.
Gostei muito da organização e profissionalismo dessa empresa na limpeza desse aviário. Pena que aqui no Brasil nao temos essa qualidade e maquinários multifuncionais desse porte que atenda ao pequeno produtor.
That's crazy broiler houses in WV holding 26000 birds per house only get the litter cleaned out no floor spraying, dust blowing,or washing down layer houses on the other hand get the litter cleaned out once a year and sprayed down but no where near this extent
Very higent... i have a planning, to make Hampton court yards still standing in preservation... not really standing in concrete all... beautiful yards... 🌐🇬🇧🐓❤️
I did this job, we never used blowers we just watered the shed down prior to cleaning to keep the dust down, one hell of a job when some sheds had over 170000 birds in them 😢
Wow. Talking about high quality! How can poultry farmer afford this? We need to raise the price of chicken to be able to provide this necessary services in the US.

How many worker you have to clean barns? My place I'm only one who doing that...lol
Great video wish had a division in USA 🇺🇸
Very professional
I wish Tyson foods in the us had an operation like this.
This isn't feasible on American farms.. one it's just not cost effective
Then you should pay more for that meat, I can tell this is expensive cleaning. Farmers have to up the prices of chicken so they can afford it.
Tyson, should use there methods. Less issues with unhealthy chickens.

I wonder if they have thought about pressure washing vs blowing that stuff everywhere? The water would make it fall down and stick together.

Hi guys, great video! Could you perhaps give me a time span of the different processes, i.e. the dry cleaning, wet cleaning, disinfection?
Dry cleaning 1.5 hours, washing 6hr, disinfect 10 min (these are average times for an average shed)
