I always learn something with your videos. Sometimes something new, sometimes something I already knew and needed to remember, sometimes something I didn´t even notice haha. Today, I remembered some of my own experiences, that when we execute projects without experience to plan before, we always loose sooo much time finding our way trough so much stuff to be done... And you can, somehow, even with all the difficulties take it all step by step, do all the small bits and pieces, and in the end it all fits better than everything else original stuff? Honestly, skills that very few people on this world have.
You never really know how much you miss a channel until it hasn’t been on for quite awhile 😮 So glad to see you guys back and can’t wait to see this project installed on your boat. Time to get back to sailing so I can escape reality 😂 ❤️🇨🇦
Glad you posted. Not surprised you both took a minute to live life. I'm thankful that you're making content and showing me how to do things, but I'm also thankful you both go and do you're own thing too. Life is to be LIVED. All the gritty, terrible, boring, terrifying, sweet, gentle, heartbreaking, joyful, mirthy stuff. Don't miss out on that. Fair winds. I see another of your vids dropped, so I'm off to see that. And Thank You. ❤
HA! I had just looked up both of your accounts the other day, wondering if I had missed a recent video...and then just saw this today! Great to see you both and that you're still working toward getting this project complete. Miss your content and the pups. I hope to see you all back out on the water cruising in the near(ish) future! 💙💙
Ohh, nice to see you guys are still working on your boat👍 I thought by now you surrendered to the addiction to the city of Barcelona and the life in that beautiful place 😂😂😂
Hurray! You’re back! I thought for sure with all the warnings you were given about the build that you baled on the whole idea. But you didn’t! Can’t wait to see see it finished!
Really missed you guys, it's like you disappeared off the face of the earth for a couple of months and i was verry disappointed but now have made my new year with your reappearance
Gotta add my 2c worth, yes been wondering about you for a while now and I also dug back into your files to see if I had missed something, guess a lot of us have been missing you two Excited to hear from you both with your smiling grins ! The work on the new dodger looks amazing so far and will look really sporty (in black) on the stern, will definitely be a looker and everyone will know it’s you coming over the Horizon, Yippee! So happy you guys are back & see you real soon 🇨🇦Cdn. Dave🇨🇦
Glad to see the new video. I'm really surprised UA-cam had it on the recommendation list since it's been a while since you've made a video. I usually don't look at my subscription list everyday so it's nice when they actually get it right.
Nice!!!! They’re back! I was worried yall gave up on UA-cam to enjoy life! I wouldn’t judge you for that one bit! I just really want to see this finished and on the boat before you go!
Now I can see what you’re trying to achieve, looking very impressive I must say, very nice to see you both again, it’s been far too long, I expect your living your best in that fair city Barcelona.
Wow , nice work! Perfect on the job and so the result is beautiful. You’re the only crew that kept the weight in mind. Although the solid parts wil make the boat more like wind vane. The center of gravity is kept low. Less rolling and good recovery from capsizing. Awsome, thanks for sharing
Now that you have the base foundation, you have to be very careful of what you do next! Because every hasty decision could be fatal and cost you a lot of money and extra hours of work! Do you know the words: Measure twice, cut once!? Well, now you have to think things through before you make any permanent decisions! But it looks good so far! Good job, both of you!
I was going to say very much the same that has already been said in the other comments, so it’s just a “welcome back” from me, and next time don’t leave it so long.
Have you ever considered trying vacuum infusion? I'm just getting into it and it's awe-inspiring how huge the resin-to-glass ratio has changed compared to the hand-wetting. It will be at minimum 50% lightweight.
We started out doing a lot of this with vacuum bagging, but a lot of the parts didn't lend themselves to the process well. Infusion seems incredible but and I believe the hype, but we have not tried it.
@@ExpeditionEngineering Vacuum bagging is a bit trickier as the clock starts ticking from mixing resin and there is not too much time for hunting after vacuum leaks. Conversely, with vacuum infusion, you have unlimited time for dry setup and 10-60 minutes to enjoy your good prep work and admire resin flow. I just successfully finished 4 consecutive vacuum-infused parts and every time I had new ideas and takeaways on how to improve the process. I'm very happy that I gave it a try. Just sharing my experience...
It is looking very very nice, it is such a unique and beautiful addition to the boat. Is Carbon Fiber addictive? Now that you are closer to the finish are you looking what else you can build from it?
How much would something like this roughly cost to have a professional build it? Obviously its awesome that is so customized and it has to feel amazing to do it yourself.
Omgosh I was starting to get worried about you guys! Glad you’re ok and still at it. Keep up the good work. I will all be worth it when you’re done. God bless you both…… oh and the puppies too.
Goodness! What a mission! Always nice to have a project though. Are you going to paint it white to match the boat? Or leave the carbon showing like a race boat? Best wishes. x
I get that most of the design is a reflection of what looks best on the boat. I’m still interested to know details like how many layers of carbon, plus weight and type, is needed to provide the rigidity needed for your use. I can’t imagine that with that big of an investment in time and money that its just a guess. Did you consult an engineer or take inspiration from a previous design?
Could you briefly describe why that undertreatment was a bad idea? You foreshadowed this but didn't explain as you were tearing it off. Was it just flimsy or made a lot of noise? Thanks. I'm enjoying this series. Cheers
Thought you two got lost at sea been a hot min since we have seen you two almost gave up on ya . my device asked permission to delete you cuz of not been seen active for a while was very close guys. Not just saying this but your names came up as one of the most posted content creators list even she said you didnt post any more hope you enjoyed your break hope we see more posts of you
On a completely different topic I hope you are getting royalties from the company you did some advertising of a Japanese knife with as they are saturation advertising their product right now here in NZ, (on UA-cam) I’m sure you could do with some extra cash to pay for all that carbon and epoxy. Great work on the project BTW, not an easy one to tackle with all those angles and no straight lines 😀.
Fantastic to see you guys continuing your work on the new carbon fibre hard top, it’s really coming together nicely now it’s been ages since we last watched you in a new video. Do you have any new material for the expedition Evan’s site…??? Also do you have any plans for your future ( sailing) that you can let us know about 🤞🏼🤞🏼 watching you guys from your first upload introduced me to the world of Cruisers, 😀 & since I’ve subscribed to Teulu Tribe (British couple)… just like you guys not sure if you know about them Zak & Becca, watched ALL of their videos … also joined Spear it Animal from their beginning I know you know those guys seen you pop up in their videos 😜 as well as the The Adventure Crews, I’m now watching (only watched a few of her videos)… Lauren Landers lone sailor, she seems to be getting on quite well… BUT I feels she needs a “Brett” onboard to help her work through her boats issues!!… but bless her she’s pushing on & getting things done 👍 so to end guys, as lots have sayid great to see you back on here keep the videos 😢coming please 🙏🏻 … & stay safe … Regards Les from the UK 🇬🇧 …
why make your boat as off grid as possible when you park it in a marina and are away from it for so long that the food in your fridge has time to spoil ?
That one wheel journey was rediculous 😂 looking good guys!
This build is going to be in the top two coolest Bimini/dinghy davits on the 7 seas

Heading to Barcelona next week..plan to find your boat! Maybe say hello😂
Pleased you guys are back, and the dodger is looking great.
It is looking very very nice, it is such a unique and beautiful addition to the boat. Is Carbon Fiber addictive? Now that you are closer to the finish are you looking what else you can build from it?
That build screams blood, sweat, and probably a few 'why did I even start this' moments. Fantastic work!
way more than a few
I started wondering if you guys were ok and where you went
How much would something like this roughly cost to have a professional build it? Obviously its awesome that is so customized and it has to feel amazing to do it yourself.

Thank you! 💖 I miss seeing your adventures. I really got spoiled when you did the daily vlogs and I've never fully recovered. 😂
Definition of a boat;
A hull in the water you pour money into.
That's why it's called a B.O.A.T... When being repaired, the shop will always say "Bring Out Another Thousand"...

It’s been awhile ! The arch project has dragged on for quite some time now. Is it more than you anticipated ?
Could you briefly describe why that undertreatment was a bad idea? You foreshadowed this but didn't explain as you were tearing it off. Was it just flimsy or made a lot of noise? Thanks. I'm enjoying this series. Cheers
curious how the gap in video has messed up your algorithm. it cant be good. but he11 yeah a video!
do you guys know anything about industrial ceramic applications ? Cheers from BC stay safe.
Not a clue. Only potentially relevant knowledge that comes to mind is high temp ceramic coatings on exhausts and such.
Your guys haven't finished that? Thought I missed it months ago
We’ve missed your smiling faces!!! 😊
Yeah! 🎉
Great to see you back..
Although, something didn’t seem quite right...i hope your guys are ok 🤞🏼😁❤️👍🏽

Why not going with Aluminium? Why go through so much trouble for a weaker structure?
Un bimini "made in Badalona"
I had completly forgotten channel existi because of lack of posting
same
Been missing you guys. You need to get finished up so you can get sailing and "take a break!" Lol 👍

Was Jade the victim of having to eat the ice cream to have the popsicle stick, for the excess epoxy?
Wow, i almost forgot about you..Glad your back .2025 👍🏻👌🏻
Good thing you started two channels since you you have too much content for your weekly videos. Oops did I say weekly, I meant montly at best.
You're welcome
