Back in the 90's we were chilling out one morning at home after a hard night techno , my friend throwed OK Computer on the SL1200.............my life was never the same again........
I. Was. There. With my best friend. And with all that was going on with Radiohead at the time, nobody was really sure if they were going to play. Just before they took the stage, I passed a joint to some gorgeous girl. She took a hit, handed it back to me, exhaled, and passed out! She dropped flat ,to the ground. Flop. So I pick her up in my arms and I'm standing there thinking that she needs to get to a medical station.... but I'm not leaving this spot because my favorite band -ever- is about to hit the stage at any second. So there I am, truly concerned for this poor girl, but unable to move because I flew out from NJ for this moment and ..... So I handed her off to some random guy standing there and told him to carry her over to the medical tent. He looked like a decent bloke to me. Away they went and just then Radiohead took the stage. I'll never forget it.
+gotchabythepants Total Coachella moment from the early days. I feel you. I was there with a good crowd of peeps. This was probably the best show I've ever seen to this day.
gotchabythepants You did the right thing to get her to a professional in-case she had a more grevious issue--- weed had never killed anyone. Admittedly there's been a couple of times I've been dehydrated and pot has made me "pass out". I was fine a minute later. If I was that chick and just stoned off my ass I'd be pissed if someone dragged me away from Radiohead. Again, triage for folks at a concert is real so u did good bro. Drink more water y'all.
I'm gonna disagree with the others. I don't think you should have left her with a stranger. Nevertheless, it makes for a pretty hilarious story today. haha
Thomas DeTurk Damn good question. I saw them in 97 at a small venue, they are outstanding live. Not seen anything since to compare, their timing, passion and sheer talent is amazing.
Wow the energy! Great version. Quite possibly the best band ever...The new album is amazing - I'm sinking deeper & deeper with each spin and loving the ride!
johnny deserves to enter to the list of best guitar players of all time just because he is a genious with his effects... and this one.. I was a major fan when I saw this the first time.... the 1st time I saw this I was shocked
I love how I am in my days where I'm discovering Radiohead ( I only have about 1 year listening to them a lot. Before I only heard creep pretty much) I listen to Radiohead everyday and I love when I realize how beautiful a song that, for example, I haven't quite hear as much as others (pyramid song, you, bones, paranoid android, optimistic, talk show host) is.
damn this is one of the best radiohead songs ive ever seen performed. also its the fucking craziest I've ever seen a radiohead crowd. they are going nuts towards the end
It's one of the best songs Radiohead has ever made to be honest. Unfortunately criminally underrated. "The Bends" was a very good alternative rock album but "Planet Talex" was easily "Ok Computer" quality. They did this song in the mid 90s. Shit like this was never heard before, alternative rock was still very influenced by grunge or britpop and suddenly Radiohead came out with this insane futuristic tune with one of Thom's best vocal performances ever.
WOW what a fucking fantastic video, everything about it, even the shot of the people in the crowd just holding their arm in the air eyes closed, to the brilliant performance. i wish i was there.
wow. i havent watched this vid in ages, i was i was there. best band in the world. id love it if radiohead were special guest at glasto again this year.
Fang is character from the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. He has his own blog and put a post up with a hyperlink that comes to this page... so thats why everyone is metioning fang^^ haha
You can force it but it will not come you can taste it not will not form You can crush it but it's always You can crush it but it's always near Chasing along Everyone is outspoken ( my version )
hey here's a new discussion topic about this song: thom yorke was pissed drunk when he recorded the vocals for this song on the bends album btw: muse can get as big as those guys, just give them a few more years cheers to all radiohead fans
I really really hate when there are comments comparing Muse to Radiohead, and even the high rated comments are about that, i think that Thom's smile when he sings, or that this performance was perfect, or Jonny's energy to play guitar are more important than that.
jesus fuck i could listen to that intro riff for all eternity
projectcapsule it's so orgasmic
Good choice, Jonny. Good choice.
Ed O'Brian Fucking nailed the climax
Gorilaz profile pic? Awesome! :)
that intro blows me away every time
tremolo, reverb, delay, phase, and a bit of brilliance
Ed and Jonny made this performance so fucking special !!
when I was in college, I hear radiohead, and it really changed my life...

Why were people unsure they'd be playing?
That's what I probably would have done too

Wow. Where is new rock that sounds like this? The crowd says it all - Goosebumps.
Thomas DeTurk Damn good question. I saw them in 97 at a small venue, they are outstanding live. Not seen anything since to compare, their timing, passion and sheer talent is amazing.
+Thomas DeTurk Where is the old rock that sounds like this?
Holy Shit, that was awesome! I think I need a moment.
Radiohead is the only band I know that has great opening songs for every album they release.
Planet Tele
Wow the energy! Great version. Quite possibly the best band ever...The new album is amazing - I'm sinking deeper & deeper with each spin and loving the ride!
90's was an inspired time.
Everthing is broken.....
johnny deserves to enter to the list of best guitar players of all time just because he is a genious with his effects... and this one.. I was a major fan when I saw this the first time.... the 1st time I saw this I was shocked
What I love most about this is that I don’t see any cell phones in the crowd
This concert really gave me a whole new respect for this group... They were very energizing!!!
Great band and a wonderful concert !!!

A timeless classic. This song, infact, the whole of the bends, will always sound current.

Phil Selway, one of my favorite drummers.
Thom is using a FENDER JAGUAR!! WOW!
Radiohead is the reason bands like Muse and Coldplay are popular.
Mmmm. I was there. So fucking excellent I can't even tell you

Without Radiohead there is no Muse. Period.
