I just give you one of them which is power to weight ratio in relation to engine layout. Ask you the question why Honda built the RC51 and why Aprilia built the RSV in the early 2000's? 2 brands that never built or raced bicylinders 4 strokes before. Until WSBK rules change again few years later because they figured out where Ducati was getting their advantage. That says a lot.
