    "Why are my tattoo lines intermittent?" Purposely skips tattoo needle across surface

  • @laceydavis3568

    Wrong, it’s because you’re dragging the tip against the skin instead of practicing the correct needle depth, you do not want the needle to barely protrude from the tip you want about 3 mm of needle

      Also never wanna work at a 90° angle, you wanna be at a 45° angle so you aren’t ditching the skin.

      @@tetsusiega2this is wrong you use 90° for smooth lines and use 45° for shading and color packing..... also u can use 90° for packing solid color..... if u put lines in 45° they look blurry and not as sharp as they could look.

      No once you turn the machine on it sticks out an additional 3 mm. So if it’s already sticking out before u turn it on that means it’s going like 6mm deep into ur skin. So he’s right

    nah u can leave the needle out at the length he had it originally… seeing your needle and where your line is going is a major part of nailing a line ! you just need to put the needle in a little deeper and control the level of depth, youll get a perfect line w the original needle depth

      It’s old school. You can do it with the soft plastic tips and not upset the skin too badly. It is bad form and will get you called out like pushing mango. Being able to see your needle is important if you want any real fine detail control. 4 mm needle protrusion. Go 1/2 to 1 mm deep into skin

      If you know not to push in like you would with a pencil, you can definitely ever so slightly FLOAT the tube. With a slim sheen of Vaseline you won't irritate the skin more than you already are

  • @Lazuray666
    @Lazuray666 28 днів тому +2

    This is called dragging the tip and is only best done when very first starting but not for long...you need to float the needle and be able to gauge the depth you're hitting. Sometimes you want 2mm, other times 1mm depending on the part of the body...the more fatty parts you need to hit closer to 2.5-3 but there's always the danger of blow outs...which is why feeling the consistency when lining without dragging the tip is better to learn sooner than later.

    To each their own…I have personally seen amazing work from artists who ride the tube with no negative outcome. It’s all about the finished product which takes lots of practice. If you learn to master that skill and it works for you go for it and don’t let the tattoo police(gestapo)or any one of these other artist out here make you feel that their opinion is the only correct way to tattoo. Busca tú camino. Find your path.

    Ive been letting the needle hang my whole career I dont like riding its a mess. To the people out there whats the voltage whats the stroke doesn't matter it just takes practice and trying different things stuff keeps getting more easier. I used alot of give on my coils went to direct drive cordless can use any stroke as long as it more than a 3mm personally. Depth, hand speed, machine speed, an also please learn to draw. Procreate cool but draw some dammit. Tattooing trade is supposed to be a skilled trade thats for people who need to make art its our life, we cant live any other way.

    Don't ride that tube yall. Learn how to control your speed and depth. That's what it comes down to. If your running at 7volts that's a different soled than 7.5 or 6 and so on. I'm sorry but the only way to really get good is the drill on skin. I started in prison if it make anyone feel better. My first client was a real body building ass nazi looked like Hitler on roids. Mustache and all. Don't ask me but try doing your lines while being bricked up. Idk if it's the difference in blood flow or what but when I am and I hold my breath I get the straightest lines ever lol just don't let your client know lmao.
