Even when Luke retires from competing, I hope he still stays active in the sport and we still get to see him. Getting the opportunity to meet him in person has still been among the top highlights from both comps I've been to!

I think you're right about the gripping and holding events. The massive wrecking ball at the last Giants Live was visually impressive, but as a test of strength, it just doesn't have that brute strength vibe that most strongman events have.
Yeah, if everyone can lift it, it only becomes an endurance test, and a test of patience for the audience.
Visually I do like the Hercules Hold, but forward holds not so much
I think it needs to be talked about more that it’s not appropriate for strangers, or even close friends sometimes, to constantly hound people about children. When and if a couple decides to have a baby is extremely personal and it’s not really any of our business. Love how Tom shut that question down and showed his respect for Sinead by not wanting to speak on her behalf with that topic. Women get bombarded with those questions constantly so it’s awesome to see a husband stand behind his wife like that!

I do like a grip event. Hercules hold is a good event I think. I will say that I agree with getting rid of the forward hold though.

I like watching the holding/grip events. I think you're right it's a little out of place in strongman though. You can be just kind of strong but still have a record breaking grip. Grip competitions should probably their own sport.
We still have some good years with Luke left, and who knows maybe he can be an example of world top 10 strength well into mid 40s.
The boundries of strength and athletisism keeps being pushed every decade, so why not.
Whatever you get up to Luke, I hope you'll stick around Tom as much as possible and do some crazy strength "party tricks" (maybe a bit like Odd Haugen).

Grip can be tested by farmers walk style events the frame carry for instance. Better than a static hold.

Think you are right with the hold events, strongman used to be strange things that looked impossible for the average man🤣 like the fridge run, or boat pull, those things were cool! The bar bending was a bit crazy too!

Love watching you guys i have been since I seen luke doing Scotland strongest man when I was training with the strongmen at the gym ( me a skeleton to those guys but as you say it's a family once you are part of it).

Surely a stoltman classic or invitational is on the cards in Scotland, could even do it in invergordon giving the European athletes an equivalent to the shaw classic.
The ideas you had about the scrapping or tweaking certain events is only going to help shape the sport and give better platforms to athletes to showcase who is really the strongest.
I think luke would be a fantastic promoter also with his passion for the sport, maybe unearth the future monsters in the sport and get some boys off the rigs and into strongman

Agree with Tom the truck/vehicle pull has to be heavy as itherwise it isnt showing whos the strongest, as bexomes about speed. Should be about distance like back in the day oulling planes etc.
Arm over arm is better test of grip than a hold any day.

when it comes to static hold events - oddly i really enjoy the Hercules Hold, but i'm with you on the deadlift/hold and front hold - don't get me wrong they're impressive feats of strength (i tried a front hold with a 20kg plate in the gym the other day and lasted about 2 seconds haha) but visually - until the athlete starts shaking madly (at which point it's over) there's not a lot to watch. Give us pulls, pushes lifts for reps, carries etc... all day every day at events and i think the fans will be more engaged.
big love for the Stoltmans - Luke thinking he has 3 years left fills me with dread at 43 years old and just starting out with strongman training - means i'm WELL past it haha (i'm no Mark Felix) - hope to be watching you guys go from strength to strength over the next many many years #stoltman
