Great video! Thanks! A few things to make the game easier: Keys. X clears (or holsters) your tool, Tab changes your chat type, Ctrl takes you out of the hunting reticle and out of the housing grid, O for social, T for emotes, K for camera. Type /unstuck into chat if you get stuck and when climbing and you run out of stamina, try jumping up the cliff before it runs out. Lastly, befriend "Jet" the Tailor. He has quests that reward fabric. You can also buy one Leather and then request 4 more from Social for the glider quest.
also to add for climbing. X cancels the climb and drops you down. There's been so many times I accidently started climping.amd had to climb back down when X just ends it. 😂
My personal advice is to NOT upgrade your bow. It only increases your range, not your damage output. And honestly once you have some experience there’s no issue with a smaller range. Hunting is a huge money maker, so constantly having to run back to repair the bow is an absolute NUISANCE
+1 but change to the copper arrows as soon as you can because that is 1 shot on most things. And back to the makeshift arrows if you hunt with someone else because both get the experience and loot
Once you get the last bow it lasts a really long time. About 400 shots before needs repair and it shoots really flat so it's much easier to get targets quick. Definitely worth it in the end.
If you press H on your home lot you can move your crops with your crops still growing. That goes for your house, tent, etc. You can move a fully decorated room of a house without having to take anything you have decorated with. It won't let you move machinery that is currently processing an item by just pressing control. It will tell you that you aren't able to move that item BUT if you press H you can move it. Also if you press Z while after pressing control, it removes the grid and you can freely place your furniture or decor piece.
Okay the first thing you actually should do is cut down enough trees and or mine rocks and harvesting so you get 500 gold. (NOT on your property , out in the world) Go to the general store and buy your first backpack upgrade. THEN follow his guide. Life will be easier.
I basically did just that without anyone's guidance! After my first "run" I quickly ran out of backpack space so I then set out to earn the 500 gold for the expansion asap. It's made my days in Palia a lot easier. First thing I tell someone starting out.
another tip, and i use this, when you have a couple crafting stations, like 3 sawmills and 3 smelters you'll run out of crafting station space really quick what you do is remove the ones you do not use (put them in a chest) and put the other ones down at least until you have enough money to buy extra space :P
You want to grow both Starred crops for selling and non-star for cooking. Since gathered plants from the wilds only have a small chance of being starred resulting in the mass amount of what you can cook being limited to non-star resources. Most recipe call for something that needs to be gathered from the wild. Making starred and non-starred resources useful. Most use at least sprouts.
Thanks for watching! Just want to clarify something... TLDR: just double check prices on transformed items...but the overall general advice still applies Just to clarify! I didn't double check the numbers for transforming early resources. Some things aren't profitable to transform (anymore), however the advice still stands that transforming other items/resources will make them more profitable. Given that it was ALpha, closed beta and then Open beta in such a quick timeframe, figures and values are bound to change. This was once profitable, and there are other changes that were made very recently that I can't discuss. Just double check but overall, things do become more profitable
The point about transforming products to make them more valuable is not always correct in my experiance. For example, cooking meat takes 2 meat and sells for the value of two meat (unless you get a lucky star quality). I think the same is true for planks and bars and the majority of crafted items. Larger cooked meals though, I think you cane make some good money from since you get bonus drops by cooking with friends.
Yeah crafting doesn't add to the sell price BUT it gives you XP for crafting and then you can sell it without losing money (unlike many MMOs where crafting at low levels actually kinda costs you money uhg!)
My advice for tool repair: If you're nearby to Kalima village, the anvil has an option to pay gold to repair, instead of using repair kits. If you have the cash, use it instead - and if you don't, why are your tools that badly damaged? Their whole point is to gather stuff to help you earn money. Save the repair kits for use at home or in zones where the anvil doesn't offer you that option.
I think requesting depends on if you have ever had that item rather than your level. I really do like your guide btw, so much of it is good info for new players!
I never understood the desire to get through tutorials/levels/areas as quickly as possible. Don't you want to play the game? I think it's more fun to take your time. I've been playing since August 2nd and I STILL haven't unlocked my glider.
It's more so to get the crucial things. That's why I said up until the glider mission, as that's still very early on, and you'll unlock all the items necessary to start building a really strong foundation. Again, no one needs to follow this, it's just for those who were wanting a bit more guidance or direction Thanks for watching and commenting! Really appreciate it
Go into the plot, click either ctrl or H to go into item placement mode, and I think it's G to pick up or right button click to store away. You need to make sure you have nothing else in the tent though
Silly question for my gamers, I play on Nintendo switch on a TV. I want to plug in my Razer ornata chrome keyboard to use in game. When I plug the USB into the TV the keyboard lights up but doesn't work :(
I think it would make a cute "room" to display your bug collections. Sort of like an entomologist's tent. Use some extra treasure chests, if possible, to place the displays on. This way you save yourself from having to buy a room.
Best beginner guide I’ve found so far. Love your accent too. Very complete but I have one question. I don’t have three buttons on my mouse, how do I mark the map?
Unless the Devs changed from Closed Beta (when you recorded this video) to Open Beta, cooking raw ingredients does NOT increase their value. This is accurate as of 30 minutes ago in game and based on the 4 basic Recipes in your video at 11:21.
yeah i didnt re-confirm that. i was going off old numbers and should have double checked. that being said, the advice of transforming ingredients does still apply as things outside of the first and meat do become more profitable when they're transformed. Oversight on my side, my b!
I can't gift to other players at all. I'm stuck on the "Prove your Generosity" quest because I am unable to gift things to other players. It isn't that I'm doing it wrong, it's that the button "gift" is greyed out, and every request I see, whether old or seconds new, says "Expired" How do I complete the quest and progress more in the main questline if it's doing this to me? Your video showed no "Expired" tags on the requests, which just solidified that something is wrong with my game specifically, and I need help figuring it out
So you can add Palia into steam by going into "Add non-steam game", and then use the steamlink/big picture mode. I use this to play on my phone using my backbone. There's no official controller support, however it works for the most part. Not 100%, but gets the job done. Some features like global chat won't work
think your info about focus might be wrong, think i remember something about well fed for maximum focus, and if you look at the focus in your inventory, you can se like someone have hit and axe down on the focus like 40% full and 70% full ore something (on top of the focus bar) like this """"""""u""""""""""""""u""""""""""\ ______________________/
I'll run some tests and check it out. The focus bar used to work different (can't discuss), however it was changed to a flat rate. I will run some more tests over the next few days and get back to you
From my basic observations I get the same XP boost if I have a barely filled bar vs a mostly maxed out bar. Possibly there was some text that hasn't been updated. Possibly I am horrible at judging how much xp I am getting, but I was doing this observation leveling both my carpentry and my cooking on different days.
@@steveheffner there were ....benefits....prior to the beta so it may have carried over from that, but from what I can see, it's just that overall %age applied regardless of whether it's 10% full or 100% full

you can move your crops for gardening even when things are growing by pressing H and moving it or pressing Ctrl and left click to move it.
