@@IrishBumble actually my Celtic friend you thoughts are misplaced, the Irish genetically migrated from France and Spain, the people before that are unknown,as the Welsh and original English (briothonic)you were only saved from Rome by geography and not mythological warriors as the Irish high kings favourite pastime was killing each other and the peasants, think peat bog man, the Saxons were invited after rome left not invading, and modern English dna is still more than half Celtic,by the way the only Celtic in these islands to challenge rome was Boudicca an English Celt, the English fared better than you because the saxon was better organised but were beaten by the normans through geography, the main Saxon army was miles away,(norman DNA in england is very small)early middle age welsh gave us the longbow the most devastating weapon of the age,and by the way most of the bowmen who killed the Scots under Edward the first were Welsh, also Argyll is Irish for east land because the Irish invaded and killed the local Scots, true Celt loyalty, even the Picts eradicated an earlier people, alba, the English done better through the centuries because of better organisation, Ireland was conquered because of greedy landlords swindling their own,the same with Scotland the highlanders liked killing lowlanders and stealing their cattle, the Protestants of Scotland repaid Argyll with northern Ireland,it was the union that made these islands, half of the seaman at Trafalgar under Nelson were irish and Welsh, and most of Celtic glory has been under the union jack, the Irish hostility with England is largely due to the lies of France always happy to fight England to the last Irishman, the whole catholic, protestant thing is over a religion not remotely Celtic,oh and before I forget England has made so many mistakes it's numberless and as much as the Scots Irish and the Welsh (not so much) complain the people who've suffered the most throughout history from English rule are the poor English,so I repeat despite historical differences we need to stick together and if some people are more concerned at the moment with "define indigenous"than the existential crisis these islands now face with foreign and indigenous leaders happy to fuck us right over yet again then I suggest these islands are better off without them

The problem is that in Ireland we have 26,000 family's waiting for houses for 25 years+, but as soon as the refugees started to come, they pushed all the Irish to the back of the lists and handed out homes to refugees/ migrants, the government miraculously came up with 10's of thousands of homes they could give away, and not only not charge rent but give them a living income. The governments handling of the situation has driven anger levels and divisiveness up. Ireland has only deported 0.002% of the illegal migrants who have deportation orders against them based on criminality.

We have a major shortage of housing units in Ireland. We also have a huge amount of Irish people that are homeless and this has been a long term issue that a succession of Irish Government's have refused to actually address. Plenty of lip service and work salad by them though.
Those numbers you quoted do no take into account the illegal immigrants that have slipped over the border.
It is only the Irish Government blaming the UK Government not the Irish people. I'm afraid the media is now fanning the fire.

"Ireland" is not blaming the UK, this is the despised Irish government trying to deflect from themselves.
The majority of the Irish public aren't buying it. We want them out...the government, and the economic migrants.
We've welcome large cohorts of people from around the world over the past decades, with very little issue. We have large Brazilian, Polish, and Indian communities that have come to live and work, and most of them are great people. But it was controlled, and while it impacted our resources they also highly contribute to the economy.
What's going on now is something different; uncontrolled illegal migration mixed with stupidly generous welfare packages for Ukrainians.
Enough is enough, the government go first, then the economic migrants.

I just can't for the life of me comprehend why so many people think the solution to everything is "be nice." How could any country take another 100k permanent residents without significant consequences?
    100k people means:
All of the remaining houses are now massively in demand.
    Housing prices inevitably will increase.
Irish people won't be able to afford housing in their own country.
The government will have to spend money renting these houses and hotels to house migrants.
The migrants will need unskilled jobs as they dont have qualifications or perhaps speak the language.
Which means all unskilled jobs will be given to migrants rather than young people.
Young people will have a hard time saving money or finding work.
Birth rates of natives will continue to decrease as live becomes unstable.
Meanwhile, immigrants have many, many more children than locals.
Immigrants will similarly require schools, healthcare, and increased infrastructure.
The list and knock-on effects just go on and on!!
The country will simply be spread far more thin than it already is, it will become poorer and people will find it much harder to get by because there is only so much to go around and because the new population doesnt positively influence the economy. Ireland will lose its identity! The same for the western world; in times of recession we cant afford to take any more people, considering we cant even afford to pay our teachers and doctors a living wage.🫠 Oh ffs who asked for all this rubbish?!?! @@RyanSmith-on1hq Actually no. The Vikings never went into clan land. They set up settlements outside them. Back then all land was free. You could build and farm wherever you wanted. Not everyone in Ireland was in a clan, for example early christians left clans to live on their own, some villages were on their own, and you would have sea spots that were their own small independent clan.
Take Dublin for example. The Dublin vikings never ever went up stream and took Atha Cliath the Irish clan settlement. Instead they sailed over to England took English people as slaves. They would sail up and down the coast looking for small single dwellings. Any time the Vikings fought with a clan they lost.
The clans had something called Wolf warriors, warriors, trained troops they would send to France to fight for French kings as mercenaries. Wolf warriors were trained to survive on their own, catching food with their bare hands if they had to, eating raw meat, and being able to travel standing on or all fours to hide themselves. They would wear furs, and would howl if they needed help. These wolf warriors were trained in summer and sent home to their farms at winter. Every clan farm had one warrior stationed, this wolf warrior did no farming, no work, they sat around all day like a guard dog, just ready to fight. If a viking came onto the land, the wolf warrior would run toward them ready to die, he would howl as he did so, probably strip off to show his tattoos and his markings. Other wolves in other farms would hear the howl, get up and start running toward them. Within minutes, 4-5 trained warriors would be approaching the vikings.
The howls would make it to the stationed soldiers who were originally wolf warriors but are now soldiers, they would have a bagpipe played, the bagpipe would ring out, and it would be the order for everyone to arm themselves and get ready to march to war. The bagpipes were originally called "The great irish war pipes".
The vikings never found a solution for this system, so they avoided it. Eventually the viking territory encroached too much on clan land, so one of the clans said they would finish it. The clans were all part of a sept. So this king became king of his sept, he then became king of other septs and eventually he became high king, and marched on the vikings, and killed them all. The vikings fought the biggest battle they ever had up to that point in their history, they brought thousands of trained soldiers in, several viking kings turned up, even the viking sea king turned up as the Irish sea was essential to the vikings holding the UK. They were all wiped out, none were left alive on the battle field, and the vikings collapsed in Ireland, Ireland secured the Irish sea, and now with the Irish sea secure, the English could fight the vikings on one front. England only got rid of the vikings because the Irish wiped them out in Ireland.
The Romans never took on Ireland. Roman chariots and shields actually used an Irish design. The Romans knew of the wolf warrior system, and the clan system. Instead they actually asked a clan to rule over a large chunk of Wales. You should let that sink in, instead of invading Ireland, the romans asked Ireland to hold Wales for them.
The romans actually came up with a solution to the clan system, but never got to fully execute it. The solution was to undermine the system, not fight it. The head of the clan was actually picked by vote. The romans had big trouble with this in Scotland, they would win a battle and expect the king to bend the knee, instead the scottish would vote in a new king, a new clan head, and all of a sudden the Romans are fighting a totally different king over the same land. It didnt follow the first born son rule. Even a woman could be the head. It could be sons, cousins, nephews, whatever, anyone could be the next clan head.
The romans decided the best way to overcome this was to prop up some clans, then support the first born son of that person with the full might of the roman empire. Then they could get one person to bend the knee instead of a whole clann. This was the system that England eventually used to beat the Scottish and although back then England never went to war with Ireland, its what allowed England to get such a big foothold in Ireland very quickly without the Irish noticing they were being overtaken.
The normans are somewhat of an outlier in the discussion, they came to invade and inside Ireland embraced Irish culture, poetry, language, and became known as "more irish than the irish" inside Ireland. They were very much liked for the most part, they were very friendly, very respectful, and are an blueprint of how people should behave in someone elses land.
These current migrants are worse than vikings as their culture is so different and they totally disrespect Irish culture, as such Irish people should treat them at best like vikings, if they do not interfere with Irish people in any way at all, allow them to put up a tent on the outskirt of a city. If they do interfere with Irish people in anyway, send them home. The old Irish basically would have just cut all their heads off they are that disrespectful.

    • @geroutathat
      @geroutathat Місяць тому +2

No, because there was supposed to be a passport border between the UK and NI after brexit, Ireland held out the hand of friendship to the UK and allowed easier travel so they didnt have to do it. They didnt have to allow it but they did. Now Ireland actually cant claim them as French migrants, so the UK has done Ireland dirty. The only way Ireland can claim them as from France is if the UK actually helps them, but they wont... Basically the British should just either stop it, or at the very least officially mark each person as a French arrival awaiting deport back to France so that Ireland can accept and execute that deportation.

We are seeing that right now, by the fact that we can actually make an argument for why the migrants should not stay here and instead go to Ireland who chose to stay in the EU, which is perfect because now we can cause a real stir with the situation the EU has been put in. Ireland is getting more angry, the uk won’t take them back, so it’s up to europe to deal with the migrants they brought in. We don't blame the English. This is probably the first time in our shared history that we feel solidarity with the English. All of us on these islands - English, Irish, Scots, and Welsh - have to put aside our ancestral issues and unite against the real threat, which is an existential one. We are losing our cultures, our identities, our heritage, and the very soil that we've called home for 1000s of years.
Our governments are the enemy. At this stage it isn't country vs country, it's indigenous Europeans vs the globalists who want to destroy us.

Most Irish dont have a problem with some inward/outward migration at all and Ireland accepts 1000's of new citizens annually.. Most people have issue with uncontrolled and unvetted individuals coming into this country... The department of Integration wanted to place almost 900 Ukranians into a village in Wicklow.. This village had a population of around 300 people and not great services in place...with regard to the invisible border with the North... this was part of the GFA and ensured seamless ease of movement for both jurisdictions.. It also removed the visible partition. This was intended to be for the benefit of the citizens... not to facilitate free movement of individualss entering the State illegally. ....
