not the exact video I needed but I learned a lot! This was very helpful man, thank you for putting the time into making this video. I know making a video while working on a project only makes the project take even more time
What is used to crimp it? It’s it one of the metal loops that you can tighten with a socket or screwdriver or something else? If it’s the metal loop that is broken and crimped the hose to it I would just try breaking it. Possibly pliers or wire cutters working it off.
@ can you get some wire cutters on it and start snipping away? You’ll end up replacing the hose and the collar anyway I would imagine. So getting it off by any means necessary. It should be a relatively thin metal collar.
@@BeePerky yeah I ended up cutting it with the dremel and peeling it away, but the replacement hose was about 2 inches shorter and barley clears the pulley , so makes me alittle nervous
@ glad you got it off! My replacement hose was really similar with length compared to my old one. It has been working just fine though for a while. Hopefully you have the same experience.
To get the fan off try leaving your belt on and the tranny in gear. If your tension idler is working properly it shouldn't be a problem getting it loose. One thing he doesn't mention is that it's a right hand thread.
I’m sorry but hearing your frustration made me feel so much better. I gave up after about an hour of not being able to get the damn bolts in my water pump, any tips at all? I still haven’t done it.
Honestly I don’t. It really took me about an hour to get it done. It was really hard to lined up. Sounds silly but maybe take a break and try again later with a fresh approach. Other than that I would say maybe check the bolts threads and see if they are good still. Also double check that the water pump is correct and lining up properly. I ended up starting one and then getting lucky with the others. Let me know if that helps at all.
@@jadeaslain6327 I tried and it just spinned the belt. Didn’t have enough friction. At least for me. Were you able to do that without removing the belt?
@@dalebrooks4444 how did you do it? If you use a little duct tape and wrap it enough it cinches down on itself. It shouldn’t slip off. How did you do it? Length of webbing? Duct tape at the start?
@@BeePerky I taped the very end then a couple pieces every so often got it tight as I could hooked up visegrips used my jack handle as a cheater bar. The fan was on there so tight couldn't get it to budge then the tie down slipped I reset it twice then 4 or 5 wraps slid off on attempt 3 and got behind the pulley. So I went to old trick and tried getting screw drivers behind the pulley tried a curved tipped pry bar no luck at all. Tried a few different clamps to no avail even tried a filter wrench. Finally I broke and made the hour drive to the parts store and bought the special wrench kit for removing the fan and pulled drove the hour back home and managed to get the fan, the pulley and the water pump removed in about 20 minutes but it got dark so going to put it back together in the morning. If it wasn't for that dam fan I wouldn't have had the whole thing done and the truck back on the road today. What a pain in the ass lol
@@dalebrooks4444 dang! Sounds like it was on there really tight. Sorry none of the work around a worked for you. Glad you were able to get it off in the end though!
saved my life with this one man i appreciate it a lot
So glad I could help!! Thanks for watching.
the indestructible 300 six. what great trucks they are if you can find one
Yup it’s such a great truck!!
It's crazy the amount of people that knock on my front asking to buy my truck lol.

Thanks so much for watching and for the very kind comment!
Thanks for the video, you made the job look very easy, I am planning on replacing mine since it is also leaking and making a little noise.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Glad I was able to help!
Best tutorial video I have seen #chefskiss
Thank you so much!! I really appreciate the comment!
Yes it was, I wish I would've found this before I replaced mine. It would have been much easier.
Great video 👍🏿 my leak on my 1994 inline was coming from a weep hole at the bottom of the water pump, took me a while to locate. 😅
Thank you! Thanks for watching and glad I was able to provide good content.
About to do it tomorrow thanks for the video.
@@ShannonSnavely absolutely!!! I hope you have better luck with some of the bolts than I did.
My bottom radiator hose is like crimped into the pump … any advice would be appreciated

@ no it’s a solid metal collar that goes around the whole hose. No release tab or anything

I’ve tried that the fan clutch still rotates.

Dude, you should have loosened the fan clutch while the belt was still on there
