I have alpha gal. I stay sick all the time. I haven’t eaten meat for two yrs. I get “mammaled” from hidden dangers in products or foods that seemingly have nothing dangerous in them. But upon further investigation you find something with a weird name which turns out to be from a mammal. It’s awful and it’s scary. Now I have to research everything that goes into or on my body. Once I get sick I have no idea how to make it better other than wait it out. I’m talking lethargic, slurred speech, rash, tummy troubles, chills, cold clamy sweats. It’s awful.

I am sorry to hear that you have this allergy. You need to get EpiPen and Benadryl and keep it with you at all times. It is a very scary allergy and I also have this allergy. The best thing to do is to avoid anything with mammal meat and poultry products in them. Unfortunately, there are lots of products and foods with meat in them. This allergy is a living nightmare. University of North Carolina Medicine is a great place to get info and help. Vanderbilt University Asthma, Sinus and Allergy is a great place for help also. These are the only two places that have a comprehensive knowledge of this allergy that I have found. Most doctors do not know about Alpha-gal allergy. Simple things like shampoo, laundry soaps, gelatin, wines, foods, mammal meat, poultry, medications and many more can cause an anaphylaxis reaction to a person with Alpha-gal allergy. There is no cure for this allergy. This allergy can also be affected by a person simply by smelling meat at close range. It can causes open sores all over the body, breathing issues, pain, seizures, memory issues, and other neurological effects. This allergy also has a delayed onset of 3-8 hours.

I've lived with this since I was a teenager and many times was told it's all in my head and that I was just a fussy eater. I went vegetarian for decades as I didn't know what was making me sick. I only found out about alpha-gal syndrome when I was in my 40's. I haven't met a doctor in the UK that has ever heard of alpha-gal. The last time I experienced a reaction was on a trip to the US, where food was cooked in animal fat (which I didn't know at the time). My friends thought I might need to go to the hospital as I was extremely unwell, but fortunately, I recovered by myself. Usually, it starts with hives, headaches and vomiting then progresses from there quite rapidly. I grew up in the countryside around farms, so had contact with horses, sheep, cows etc and the dogs would regularly pick up ticks. I've heard people can recover from this, but as I can't get tested here in the UK I'm not going to experiment on myself.

I live in Durham NC and was recently diagnosed with Alpha gal. My Duke allergist told me to be careful about the drugs I take as well as reading labels to stay away from the bad stuff. My concern is that there has been very little education for the public. My pharmacist had never even heard of alpha gal. Is there a way to make this more public especially to doctors and pharmacists?

AGS could be triggered by mold exposure... it could be why it is found outside of the United States region... hashimoto thyroid disease could be a major factor... the thyroid gland control over the immune system and the gallbladder could be the key to understanding the gastrointestinal condition of Alpha gal... I would test the thyroid hormone output as well...

I was attacked 7 years ago when looking at property with my husband and we soon found that we had seed ticks all over our bodies from head to toe! Started off mild then progressed each time I ate beef to where I ended up in the ER after the Benadryl wasn’t working fast enough since I don’t eat pork by choice. Allergy testing confirmed mammal food allergies! Since I am trying to eat healthier anyway I see no point in immunotherapy. Still I miss steak once in a while! Shout out to Smitty’s Garage for great turkey burgers! They taste almost like beef! One more thing I personally am RH negative just wondering if this could be why I had such a bad reaction and my husband did not!?

My confusion comes from the randomness of the reactions.
I ate red meat nearly daily but my reactions were weeks and months apart and only 1 was severe
But some people react to an Advil, hell I still eat bacon every so often and nothing

2023. Two years ago I got bit by a tick when I used a porta-potti and didn't discover the tick until later in the day. I don't know if this was before or after I became allergic to hamburger. When I eat cooked hamburger I get stomach cramps and mucous rejection of the meat.

I'm repeating myself from another post for reference, but I am a patient of Mr. Commins.......this allergy can go much farther or involve WAY more foods and/or products than you can imagine as Mr. Commins states here and is related to your blood test IGE factor or value (higher the number, the worse it is). I personally am currently allergic to 27 different foods (incl Beef, Pork, & Milk), such as Salmon, Pears, Blueberries, Pomegranates, etc.....but you'll need to do skin or blood tests to determine them all (and your IGE value). Some fish skins such as catfish, flounder, shark, swordfish, etc can also cause a severe reaction for me. However, the most aggravating and dangerous effect of this allergy is reactions to Medicines, Surgery Drugs, and/or every day food products that either do not include the allergen on the label......which can include gelatin, porcine / bovine products, animal fats, etc, in them......or a alternate technical name which is in fact a derivative of the same such as some Stearic Acids (Fats and oils abundant in animal fat (up to 30%) than in vegetable fat (typically

      @SoaringEagle1 Рік тому +1

@@callmethreeone In short, we are digging much further into that, as I volunteered as a case study during my last visit. However, I do not have any problems eating the above mentioned fish meat, just the skins for some reason, so I have learned to be careful & just leave approx 1/8" meat on the skin when filleting....except for Salmon. Salmon meat is red / pink, and processed Salmon also contains 0-1% casein....a milk protein.....so I just don't eat any Salmon.

Dr Commins, I had this long before it was discovered. My first experience was 6 weeks after my daughter was born in the year 2000. My family doctor just thought I was allergic to whatever antibiotic the animals were fed before slaughter. I honestly didn't know my life was in such danger before I studied nursing. So I eventually stopped having the horrible reactions that could have killed me many times around 2011ish. The last time I reacted with just hives around my abdomen and slight nausea. I sometimes get nauseated after eating but not sure if it correlates to this still or not. I have never had testing but I know for sure this is what I had contracted as soon as I read about it several years back. My question to you is would you be interested in any study of long term possible health effects from this disease if any at all?? I live in South Hill Va so I'm not far and am interested in studying this myself for future educational purposes. I'm kind of curious to find out as the years pass if others have some of the same issues I have now or if I would have had them anyways. And if there are long term effects, is there a way to develop treatments for others before it does lasting and progressive damage?

@Widlywidlywaaa not vegan. Growing chickens too. Im eating fish and poultry with no problems. Cant have rabbit, venison, pork goat. If it walks on 4 legs its a no-go. Apperently Emu meat is good and has no effect on us. I never drank milk so i cant speak to that. I love cheeses and they are no problem for me, i think ibe had yougart too. Eggs daily . Watch out for wool and body care products though, many have Mammal products. I make gummies and have no issue with gelitain or hardning gels like knox.
Good luck with the chickens/turkeys farm.

They added alpha gal to the covid vaccine. The globalists wanted us to stop eating meat, so now they are weaponising food against us. They said alpha gal was a "new disease from ticks", but the real reason it's a new disease is because they have started adding alpha gal to vaccines, to make us allergic to meat, so as to stop us from eating meat. It's devious, cunning and totally evil. When they said we will stop eating meat, they meant it. This is chemical warfare against us using an allergic reaction from alpha gal, and read the ingredients in vaccines. Some contain alpha gal.

I was eating meat almost daily my symtoms were mild. But when i figured out what was causing mevto get sick and breakout in hives i just stopped eating pork and beef.
It has been 7 months since i last ate meat until last night.
It was horrible. My symptoms were much worse. With bad anaflaxis this time. Benedril was no help.
So Im thinking that he could be or has built an immunity of sorts by continued ingestion of meat. . I dont know. No one really does.
      Best of luck.
