Severe itching that you will remember! Red, swollen, inflamed, arms, and legs and trunk and neck with itching and burning so bad that you think you will die!
Thanks for sharing! My wife has Alpha-Gal Syndrome;diagnosed a couple of years ago, after a few years of GI issues, blotchy red hives after eating….she is also allergic to sesame, kiwi, Pine nuts, shrimp, and has a mild gluten intolerance.
I'm fume reactive. I've also had to delete all mammal byproducts, all dairy, and change to mammal free toiletries. So many people and doctors just don't understand the seriousness of this allergy. Thanks for getting the word out to educate
I know what you mean. I had to change everything laundry soap, dish soap dryer sheets. I read everything to see what the ingredients are. I changed everything too. Found a lotion for the itching.
Three out of Four in my family have alpha gal allergy. It took nearly 20 years to find out that I had it. I felt aweful😢for years. It made me feel like I was PMSing out of my mind. I am thankful to still be married. My son had migraines, so badly he lost vision and would have to call us to come drive him home. He missed so much school before we figured it out due to vomiting from migraines. My daughter has autoimmune encephalitis s and alpha gal played a role in her not being able to recover before we found she also had alpha gal. Her symptoms were much more vague, but was worsening her encephalitis. So thankful for the interview and the work you are doing to educate people.
When I was in high school id break out in hives when I was taking a shower. Honestly thought it was sulfur being that’s a prominent thing in my area and my house is plumbed with well water. When I moved into a city in my early 20s I learned there was a separate cause but never could figure it. Moved back into the original house and just dealt with it. Last year I was suddenly breaking out left right and center and was progressively getting worse. I’d be in bed and wake up in the middle of the night with swollen feet and hands. Was smart enough to start taking pictures of my hives and showed them to my doctors. First blood test showed positive for the antibodies to Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever went in again for alpha gal and discovered that was my issue.
Thank you for this interview. You might be saving lives by posting this. So much help for those who do not know were to start. We live in the same area and these recommendations of specialist are priceless to many.
I have had Lynne in 3rd stage and have the joi t pain, developed asthma, and all the symptoms. I can't eat red meat so now I eat fish and chicken mainly. And no white flour
I was just diagnosed 2 days ago . I got bit 3 years ago .. my Dr didn’t even know what it was .. my levels are extremely high .. I have diverticulitis I’ve thought it was that ! I asked for the test .. I couldn’t go 12 years of severe pain .
I just found you two! I am so happy! I had alpha gal from 2010 til last Nov.(2022). I was able to eat beef and pork again. Was so much enjoying rib eyes! Then this past July (2023) I found a tick on the back of my leg. I got it off, and noticed the redness of my skin all around where the tick had been. I didn't think much about it untill a few days later about 6 hrs after I had eaten a chicken fried steak at a restaurant! I battled horrible itching/hives brain fog for 5 days with benedryl and prednisone! I am now 76 yrs old with a lot of joint pain. I am an avid square dancer, but it is a real challenge to do it now. I have to use two canes to walk and dance. I wonder if the allergy has been contributing to the joint deteriation?
I haven't received an AGS diagnosis but I was bitten by a tick and afterwards dairy gave me the worst GI issues ever. After cutting red meat out of my diet I noticed feeling more calm overall and calmer GI issues. Added red meat back in and went to the bathroom within 30 minutes which typically means I just ate something inflammatory to my gut then a few days later big gut inflammation.
This sounds exactly like me. I must have been AG positive for over 8 years before I was confirmed. I attributed mine issue with total burnout from working 70+ hour weeks for 20 years. I shut down my biz over it and changed my home to be on the ground level because my joint pain was horrific I couldn’t walk stairs. I needed a severe lifestyle change. To make a long story short. I ended up in the ER with anaphylactic shock and after tons of tests. Voila…Alpha Gal. I also live in the Northfork of Long Island where ticks are so prevalent. Thanks for this video. It helps and people laugh at it.
I got bit june 23rd and have been sicker and sicker test after test...i told them i got bit by a tick. The ran a tick panel at hospital but it was negative smh. I just orderedy own alpha gal lab teat on line. I got sick to stomach couldnt eat which made me feel better. But got malnourished and have histamine intolerance and now POTS so i pray i get answers. This has to be it.
Never been bitten by a tick but have symptoms of AGS - in the past 10 years I’ve had reactions (usually both vomiting/diarrhea) after eating beef and never linked that it could be AGS. Can anyone explain if this reaction is coming from eating beef from a tick bitten cow, for example? I reckon the chances of an animal who grazes and mostly lives outside would be more susceptible to getting bit by multiple ticks, rather than a human. Not saying humans don’t get bitten by ticks but I’m 95% sure I’ve never gotten bitten by one. So if we eat beef from a tick-bitten cow then those with this sensitivity can suffer from the alpha-gal infected beef?
Often times people never know they are bitten by ticks. It's not always as obvious as it initially seems. It's worth chatting further with a doctor that understands ticks, to find out if that is what you are dealing with.

Wow incredible. I might be on the precipice of diagnosis with this. I’ll report back if I do.
I'm fume reactive.

We're glad to spread the word about Alpha Gal.

I pack a cooler with foods that I can consume when visiting family for the weekend!

Thanks for sharing your story. It's a great reminder to always use tick prevention if you are able.
Great interview and good work all of you.
Have to be careful with gel-caps, gummies, and capsules…..most contain gelatin-which is made, in part, from mammals (horses, pigs, cows)
This is true. Thanks for the reminder.

I think Alpha Gail can begin with your esophagus closing shut. When you eat meat, it sticks inside the esophagus like Velcro….
Oddly my Dad had that problem now I do.🤔
I’m an alpha gal. 😊👍
Thank you for the info!!

Your allergies can be treated with NAET allergy elimination technique.
My 11 year old tested positive after four weeks of throwing up
Sorry to hear that.

@@freddygarmin8075 do your research. Going to an allergist was worthless.
I'm glad there is a growing awareness around Alpha Gal. Always a good reminder to use tick prevention.
The worst thing is when a healthcare provider snickers at your symptoms. There's truly an epidemic of souless providers out tgere.
I have alpha-gal... Spent 6 days in the ICU.
My son just got bit by a Lone star tick, and the Dr's haven't approved of him getting a blood test. How soon did you notice symptoms of Alpha gal
@truthseeker479
I am 49 just diagnosed yesterday. Had every symptom then some my entire life especially blacking out.
I was diagnosed yesterday ☹️

YES! I have the same problem. I even twist my ankles often.

Have you all been on the alpha gal Fb pages? We could all benefit from you speaking in there.

I live in the city and don’t think we get many ticks here but I tested positive after having lamb.
Alpha Gal and MCAS here... Fume Reactive and living in nearly total seclusion...It took my quality of life away..
How possible is it to get a false negative test?
Has anyone tried SAAT acupuncture to treat or reduce reactions?
