Heres my guide to survive the soical life in norway. No small talks on busses Dont say hi to anyone while walking Dont stop and admire things ( if your a teen) uuuuuh idk anything else
Exactly. First time I was walking in a park and said hello to someone I past they looked at me like there was something wrong with me and didn't say anything back...
@@Dani-it5sy SOME Norwegians are a bit strange in this way. Personally, I very often say hei/god dag if I am walking in a park and there is a person coming up towards me, just a tiny, brief interaction, but I feel that a tiny "god dag" is appropriate. But this depends on the situation. Obviously, I don`t say "hei" to everyone coming towards me in the park when there are many, which is often the case in midsummer here in Oslo. Also, when I am out hiking in the woods, I mostly say "God dag" as well, if someone is coming towards me. Small talk on the bus: it depends on- sometimes I do, when the situation feels right. So please don`t generalize. I have been on buses and trams in Copenhagen,Berlin, Munich, Cologne, Amsterdam, Sydney, Auckland etc , it is not as if everyone is talking to eachother, some do, others are quiet, reading a newspaper, a book.
@@bjrnjensen7074 I guess it also depends where in Norway. I was in a little town on the west coast. Norway is a big country with a lot of different cultures.
This Q&A was incredibly helpful, thanks so much for making this! We are currently on the road for the next 2 years and at the end of our travels we are looking to move to Norway! We are really excited for more of your Norway videos so we could get more insight about our future home :)
You seem to be such a good and kind person, beautiful inside and out! I love your channel and all your videos, so genuine! Keep up with the awesome work. Greetings from Portugaal!! :D
You look so cute in this video 😊 and I loved your answers, mostly the one about seeing all of Portugal because it’s really hard to choose the best places 😂
I don't know whether anyone will read this but, since I'm not European, can I literally just go to Norway (with tourist visa I guess), find whatever and wherever job and live there?
Joseph Mckeon A Norwegian salary matches Norwegian prices. Average minimum wage is about $21(+/-), and you often get 1.5x to 2x more your hourly wage in the weekends (especially Sundays), but it’s not that much considering what things cost, even if it is much if it was brought into another country. However, housing is expensive for everyone in Norway, unless you live far away from the cities (even that’s often expensive too).
When will you go to Lofoten/Vesterålen and see where the cod you ate in your bacalao home in Portugal comes from. You should make a video from there in portugese and share it with your family. 😊🇳🇴🇳🇴

I will move to Norway. I already have a family there who I see as my own family :). So I guess that’s an advantage I have. I will complete my pedagogy study here in The Netherlands and then move. In Norway I can stay with that family until Susanne ( the daughter ) and I have found a house to live in. Before I move I will also go to Norway in summer and winter vacation and also then they will help me and I can sleep there. So practically I really have an advantage there. I will get a job (after my Norwegian study in Norway I will attend) in a primary school ( assistant or teacher we will see ) or as an English teacher. Since I am now studying to be a teacher haha. Or maybe I will study some more! We will see.
