I’ve been looking for a newer Bible and this one fit the criteria I hoped in unfolding further meaning in the Biblical text. Your review is also comprehensive and most appreciated! Thank you! Lord bless you!
I never even heard of an amplified Bible till today when I ran across one at my local goodwill. I just flipped through real quickly in the store, but when I got home & started going through it I was bowled over by it. It is the most basic of Bibles and I needed a little more info on it so I checked you out thinking that you might have a review of it (I wasn’t holding my breath though) so when you had one from a couple of years ago I was stunned!! I’m thinking You must have about 3 1/2 million reviews out there , don’t you. 👍🏻 the LORD has most definitely blessed us with a resource like you, that we can always count on to help us see what’s out there and compare before we commit to one thing that may cost in the hundreds of dollars. I just can’t thank you enough for your videos.
It’s a neat translation and it’s like having a built in glossary right there within the text itself and I’ve found that when someone is struggling with the KJV if I show them an Amplified Bible to them it helps them to understand it better. I’ve enjoyed this Bible. I laughed at the 3 1/2 million reviews comment. That was a good one. You don’t see a whole lot of AMP Bibles, there’s not that great of a variety of them. Thank you for watching and commenting and for making me laugh.

I believe it has really helped me decide to go ahead and get this particular Bible. I really love amplified Bibles better than the other ones feel like I understand it better. I agree it seem to make it more personal
I have this Bible in the purple cover, which is really pretty and looks great in my Bible bookcase-at tall and dark bookcase that holds the majority of my Bibles, AND matches my living room decor perfectly! I don’t really feel the AMP version is helpful to me, but instead becomes a bit redundant with the many familiar definitions. HOWEVER, sometimes they knock it out of the park with an amplified passage that is PERFECT and timely. So it makes a nice addition to my collection.
W. Spencer I agree about it can be both redundant and then spot on. I think it is a great one for new believers cause they will be able to understand it. Plus it’s a very nice looking Bible. They did a great job on it.

The special features included in the Bible like the study notes, thumb indexes, cross references, time charts and maps almost make me want to get a copy for myself, even though I'm a hardcore KJV thumper myself. I have a sister in the faith in New Jersey who would really benefit from a comprehensive study Bible that simplifies things like this one. Good birthday gift for her I think.
Yes it is nice because of the way it gives you various meanings and words to help you understand what the verse says. And they do have this one in purple too which I think any woman would love. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it 😊

With that said, I just recently found out about the Amplified Study Bible. I never heard of it before, & I’m wondering why there wasn’t more reviews and mentions about it? It’s a shame. So after I saw your review, it peaked my interest, and I ordered the purple cover with silver gilding from Amazon the other day, and it arrived in the mail today.
Well….I am totally in LOVE with this Bible already!! Wow!! It is fantastic! It’s a beautiful Bible & the 10.5 pt font is awesome. Plus, all the special unique features that this Bible has makes understanding it so much clearer. It’s different, & that’s what I love that about it. The footnotes are great too & really enjoy looking at the illustrations and inside maps & charts!!
I’m so happy I bought this Bible. I have many many study Bibles, & already this is one of my favorites! I will be using it immediately!! The size is great, not too big or heavy & not too small. To me, it’s the perfect size & weight.

I really appreciate this review. I've been trying to get a collection of my preferred translations just to cross-reference and have a collection of study Bibles and commentaries. I currently have an NIV study bible and I love it. Currently I want to add this AMP study bible to biblical library along with a KJV, NKJV, and CJB. All of my preferred translations.
This Bible has definitely caught my attention. With a full review like this, I understand the Amplified Bible much better! This would save me much time running to the KJV Strong's Links and trying to figure it out when I don't know anything of Hebrew, Greek or Aramaic. I love the description of what the brackets and parentheses etc. mean. So helpful. Also wonderful to see in-text maps. I love thumb indexed. Found out the one they have available right now on Christian book (in purple) has the 10.5 point size text with 9 point size notes! Very excited. It's now in my wish list (which means, I'll be buying it!). Thank you so much for reviewing this so thoroughly. P.S. I would just like to add, I am, apparently, nearly 4 years "late" on catching this, but that goes to show how valuable your reviews are! Bravo!
This is an old video! My first video was 1/21/18 and this one on 3/17/18, hard to believe it's been that long! I am glad it was helpful because sometimes my old videos make me cringe because I worry that they aren't as good because I didn't have an adapter for my tripod or a microphone. Once I get caught up on reviews I will probably do some new videos for some of the older ones. It is an awesome Bible though and having the various words in there really helps when you're reading because then you aren't pausing and looking up words because most people will know what the majority of the extra words mean. It is really nicely done! Worth every penny! And the purple one is really pretty too! Thanks for always leaving such great comments, seeing your comments always makes my day! The Amplified is my wife’s favorite Bible version. She won’t use a Bible that’s thumb indexed., though. She feels that they are for people who don’t know how to find the books on their own. I prefer large print when I can get them.
J Barron Owens I have a lot of thumb indexed Bibles but I never use the indexing so it’s kinda weird but I give a lot of Bibles away usually to people that do not have one or never has had one so that’s one reason why I get a lot of them with indexing cause I tend to give them to new believers.
I can usually remember where a book is, but some of them trip me up - is Joel before or after Jonah for example. If anything, thumb indexing makes finding books quicker even if you know where they are, especially in a Bible you've not used much.
I’m the same way! I can’t do thumb indexing! Too me, personally, I think it looks ugly lol
But the real reason, I love testing my knowledge on where books are in the bible.
Someone will say a book, chapter and a verse and I’ll find it within 5 -7 seconds! It’s good for helping build biblical memory.

excellent review thank you im a kjv guy but the amplified looks like the kjv text expounded a little ive watched several of your reviews and thank you for always doing an excellent job maybe to good...because you make me want to buy every bible you review hahaha im gonna go broke keep up the good work

Hi! I have the purple edition of this same Bible, and the 2015 edition seems to be less amplified than the older edition, in my opinion. I have the Everyday Life Bible of Joyce Meyer’s and it seems that older version has more parenthetical words, more phrases in brackets. I also have a 4 book parallel Bible that has the Amplified Bible, the NASB (both Lockman Foundation), the KJV and the NIV, all in one, and that one is very handy to have and use. I agree with dark print, I love a dark print but it seems like it is getting harder to find. The print in the CBP Turquoise one I reviewed is an amazing print! Question: I love my Large Print Amplified Study Bible and don't wish to ever use any different Bible for my main one. ..... but the font size is 10.5 and the study notes are only 8 points. According to google, 10.5 is not large print. Am I misunderstanding something? I'm 80 but I can't find a larger print in their "Amplified Study Bibles." ....... Other than that, personally I think it's the best study Bible I've ever seen in my life! It makes everything so very clear and easy to understand.
Sadly they do consider this 10.5 to be “large print” even though to me it’s definitely not large 😞 . I feel like 12pt or larger is “large print”…I haven’t ever seen the study Bible edition in a larger print than this one. There is an Amplified Bible with a 12.5 font and it’s got a nice layout but it doesn’t have the study notes but it would make a great reading copy of this translation. I’d love to see them produce a giant print Amplified Study Bible, I’d buy one in a heartbeat. Here’s a link to the one I mentioned with the 12.5 font in case you’re interested. The font is large in it too which is nice and it has a great layout and it is just a joy to read from. I really like this one. They have it in this brown one and also a purple. I don’t think you could go wrong with it. It ticked a lot of the boxes on my Bible checklist. This one if a keeper. And it is the last one I bought at the only LifeWay we had that closed over a year ago. Sad to see the brick and mortar stores close...thanks again for being so kind.

This combined with the NKJV Word Study Bible which has 1700, I'm pretty well set! 😉 Could you confirm the point size font on the CSB Goatskin that you reviewed? According to CBD, the hard cover & Premium (both non-indexed) is 9 for the text and 8 for the notes whereas mine is 9/7 respectively. Even the large print is 10/7, which isn't very helpful! 😉 I prefer indexed but for some reason the notes are only 7 and even a large print has 6 point notes which makes NO sense! LOL! Come to think of it, you said you also have the mahogany indexed (like mine) so could you compare the two? I believe you reviewed the indexed so your notes are probably 7 point. Thanks for your help Hon! 💖
pianist4him thank you! I’ll make myself a note to look at them so I don’t forget. Notes are no good if they’re microscopic and can’t be read. Christianbook also sells some page magnifiers too which can be helpful. They have a variety of sizes as well. I have some but haven’t really tried them yet. Depending on how my eyes feel I just grab a different Bible if the font is bothering me. Some days I can read a Pitt minion just fine and other days not so much. It fluctuates.

I have this Bible and it is very nice and stout. But, now having NLT Illustrated Study Bible and its colored entries, they share duties, which is nice.
FloofyCat I love this Study Bible and the NLT Illustrated is one of my favorites as well. They’re both amazing Bibles! I love that the amplified makes it easy to understand and gives us alternate words. I enjoy reading from it and it’s a very nice looking Bible as well.

Thank you for the review. I've been using my phone app to read the bible. I have an NIV Bible that I picked up at a used bookstore. But I still have problems understanding it. So, I use the phone app version of the Amplified Bible when I can. ( Not good in Church )
I've only been going to church for the last year, and the Amplified version makes things so clear. I did not know that Jesus talked in the second and third person, until watching this. Also, the Amplified version is sometimes used by my Pastor.
Now I know what Bible that I want, because of your video. Soon as I can afford it, this is the one I am getting. Thanks again for the video.

Larry Burch this Amplified is a great Bible in my opinion cause it gives you more understanding and you don’t have to keep stopping and looking things up. Another translation that you might want to look at on your phone app is the New Living Translation (NLT), that one is easy to understand and very enjoyable to read... if you get one of these let me know how you like it... thank you very much for watching and taking the time to comment. I love this review. I’ve been wanting a bible for quite some time. This one looks like it has lots of information. If you come across an extra one of these I sure would love to have it if you ever gift any bibles like this or if you find one for a very low cost I could make some kind of donation
It’s a great Bible. This is the only one I have like this. I rarely see them for less than $45-50. Christianbook has the hardcover for $25.99 and the e-book for $2.99 right now.

I have not seen a red letter edition, there are not as many Amplified Bibles out there as there are other translations. I wish they'd make more of a variety because it is a great translation.

Thank you for subscribing! You will like that rainbow Bible, I think they are really neat and I do really like this AMP Study Bible. I don't really have a favorite mainly because I am always reading from whatever Bible I plan to review next so they get switched up a lot and rotated but I think the Faithlife Illustrated Study Bibles are really neat and are great ones to get people into the Bible or for those coming back to the Bible, it has tons of illustrations that are unique and you won't see in other Bibles and they also offer it in the NIV and the NKJV translations. Also I think the NLT Illustrated Study Bible is a great one as well but the only drawback to it is that it has a glued binding so you need to be a little more careful with it but even with it being glued if mine fell apart I'd buy another one because I like it so much. I like study Bibles with full color and with photos/artists recreations/charts/maps etc because it really engages you. I do have videos on them as well. Die Bibel there is one called the Expanded Bible that is put out by Thomas Nelson and it is similar to the AMP Bible.

This one here is the only AMP Bible I have so I’m not sure what the other ones may or may not have as far as features go but before I bought this one I did look at other AMP Bibles and found that this one was the most appealing one to me so I think it’s probably the best one available. Tina Harrison this one is a great Bible! I really enjoy this one. The only one that I know of that is similar to the Amplified translation is one done by Thomas Nelson called the Expanded Bible. If you like the AMP you might like the expanded as well. It’s worth looking up...but this Amplified Study Bible is very nice. They also offer it in a purple cover design as well...thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it.

Amplified bible study
When I left the missionary Baptist church that use kjv bible and switch to the independent Baptist church the pastor use this bible and in that church we use more of the modern English bible and now I'm in a nondinominational church we use different types of modern English bible and study bible
catina marie claytor it’s a nice Bible and it can be helpful to have the bracketed words for clarification. I enjoy all of the main translations. Chuck Welch I just looked at that, that’s way overpriced! Christianbook has it for $45 indexed and $38 non indexed.
I got a second hand softback Amplified Bible on eBay for £0.01 plus £2.79 postage. Doesn't look as pretty but the text is the same.

TheGospelHQ you should check it out, it is available on the Bible apps so you could check out the translation for free. I have enjoyed reading from this one and it was my daily carry Bible for quite a while after I purchased it.

This one or nkjv study bible?
Personally I would opt for the full color NKJV study Bible by Thomas Nelson or one done by Holman. Either one of those is going to have a lot more than this one, I don’t have reviews yet on the NKJV editions but I have reviews of them in the KJV and that will show you what they’ll look like and what type of content is in them. Although I really like this one I don’t really use it for the notes but use it when I want to read the AMP translation.

I plan to get the amplified bible soon but I am not sure if I want the study bible or the large print.
I really like 12 point font more than 10 but 10 is ok.
But do I need the study bible ?
I have an NIV study bible, A MacArthur NKJV Study bible, currently in the cultural study bible and ESV Study bible.
I would rather have the 12 point font if the other study bibles pretty much cover the same stuff.
What is your opinion?
Is the extra material in the amplified study bible worth settling for a smaller font than I would like?
It seems to me that the amplified bible has a lot to study without the extra from the study bible aspect.

Michael Reed I wouldn’t sacrifice the font size you want for study notes. I did carry this one daily for a few months and I did read quite a bit of the notes just to get a feel for it but I haven’t referred to them since. When I read it I tend to just read the text and I enjoy it. A larger font would be a bonus in my opinion. It looks like you have some great study Bibles so if you prefer the larger font I’d go with the larger font cause you can always keep one of the Study Bibles nearby when you’re reading out of this and want to reference any notes but the notes in this one aren’t worth sacrificing the font size you desire most. Font size to me is important. If you can just see how the ghosting is in the larger font edition... I hope this helps & I thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. @@BibleBelievingChristian I have done a comparison between the study bible and the large print. The large print is significantly better in both ghosting and readability.
The paper is clearly different between the two versions. There is a color difference as well as a opacity difference.
The lead for the large print helps with readability to add to the less ghosting and the larger print.
I will be getting the large print.
Unfortunately, the options in covers are ... abysmal.
There is bonded leather ( my least favorite)
An imitation leather in pink/purple
Or
A hardback.
I will be getting a hardback.
