An ESV study Bible would give me a helping hand for understand difficult scriptures when I have no one to ask about them, the large print would be nice on my eyes.
This looks like a great Bible for long reading without giving yourself a headache from small text. I also love how lengthy the book introductions and the notes are. If you are going to spend the extra money on a study Bible, you want one that goes into depth so you can learn more about God's word as you study.

Wow - now this is my favorite. A Study Bible and Large Print together works best for me. Because of your personal opinion about this version of the Bible as a study Bible, I would love to have this study Bible.

Well I have been looking forward to this Bible that would help me win souls to the Kingdom of God the end time harvest is ripe but the laborers are few.
I'm a baby in Messiah. I'd never heard of grace or that justification was a process until this summer. I always have a had a love and fascination with the antiquity of the bible and prophecy but Fear, Obligation, and Guilt based religiosity ravaged me. I think that this bible could edify and inform the holes in my understanding. Thank you for your consideration.

I totally love how unbiased the study notes of the ESV study Bible are. I have and still love my MacArthur study Bible however, Bibles like that tend to only reflect the views and opinions of the name it bears. The ESV study Bible on the other hand is more diverse in it's information therefore, resulting in an excellent study Bible that is neither biased in opinion nor dogmatic in theology.
I agree! I had some people claim that the ESV was biased towards Calvinism and reformed theology. But I recently got this Bible with my name engraved in it. And looked up and studied verses calvinists and arminians like to use and it took a pretty neutral position. It never forced one or the other on the reader. It just explains the concept of election from God and God choosing people and even then it didn’t seem to Calvinistic. I feel like it gets this rep because this Bible is more popular in Lutheran and reformed circles of thought. Nevertheless I’ve seen it in my church which leans charismatic and I have Methodist and Wesleyan friends who like it as well
Thank you once again for a thorough review. It's kind of trade-off: large print vs. full color. I guess that's a wash. Since I don't have a "study" bible either one would be great.
It's great that you review so many bibles for us ordinary folks. The premium ones are beautiful but some are rather expensive. There are so many nice ones and you seem to cover more of them than any other reviewer. Thank you so much.

Whereas the smaller one would be nice to give my wife, this I would like to give to my father who’s eyes need a little bigger font for comfort studying. He has never owned a study Bible, but this was something I hope to get him someday. The font, articles, and the esv itself are all appealing and make for an enjoyable read.

I have a personal size, but I would like to eventually get this large print version. I like how they use a double-column format, which helps streamline the size of the text block.

Thats the Best size for me, i got the personal size and the font would make My head hurt after reading for 20 min so i gave ir to My son ,since then i got My eye on that large print :)

It’s a neat Bible and so nice to have a larger print. I really like the portfolio cover designs, they did a great job on them and for an imitation leather Crossway does an awesome job on their trutone editions. I’ve yet to wear one out. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it sister!
I just purchased this exact edition after having loved - but struggled with - the personal size. The font in the personal size was just too small and I would get a headache every time I read it! I am so happy to have chosen this one. So many resources, and one of my favorite translations...and I can read it all comfortably! Thank you for your review, love your channel!
The personal size text is quite small. I'll give mine to a young person with better eyes and keep my large print version.

Yeah the heirloom editions are amazing! I love all of Crossways products but the Heirloom editions are definitely jaw dropping!

I love to get a large print study bible. I don't have any study bible. I want to learn the doctrines that we believe in and why. This year I want to do the Advent readings with the messianic prophesies in the ESV.

They only do the ESV translation. The Bibles they make are very well made. Excellent quality and they have superb customer service too.

This Bible has been my main driver for the past 6 years. The font is perfect for my aging eyes and surprisingly for LP the Bible is not much bigger at all than its regular sized cousin. I'd love it if one day Crossway (or someone) would put a finer cover on these...The genuine leather is as good as it goes right now. This Trutone is nice tho. Thanks for offering this gem of a study Bible in your give away but don't add me to the contenders as I have several of these. Let someone else win it.

I would love to win this study Bible as I would love to study utilizing the ESV version. I currently use a NLT. However, I’ve heard that the ESV version is a word for word translation as opposed to the NLT.

Thanks for the review. On reflection, l wish l had gone for the large print and agree more ribbons would be great. That said, l get a lot of benefit and joy out of my ESV study bible with the smaller text, despite its size. Keep up tge great way.
I have used the KJV from Grade School through adulthood. I just purchased last week, the larger print, standard sized NKJV Bible. I was still curious about the NASB and the ESV Bible. Having researched the two, I'm more set on the ESV Bible. That Bible you demonstrated, is a fantastic bargain for $89.if not abused, that Bible could last for many years. It's loaded with an abundance of information, maps, and illustrations. A great study Bible for home, but not to take around to Sunday School, or church. It's a fantastic Bible. I need the larger print Bibles, to put ease on my eyes.

Hello, I would love to enter for a chance to win this bible as it’s my favorite of the bunch and I’ve always wanted the full-size study bible. My original ESV study bible was lost a few years ago in an apartment flood and I’ve been waiting at the chance to grab another one ever since.

This Bible has tons of information in it! Do you know whether Crossway has just the study notes and maps in a separate book? It would be great to have access to those, just to sit and read like a textbook. It would be great if they could somehow extract that data and print it as a helps of sorts. It could then be used with one of their other Bibles that doesn't contain anything other than references. In this technical age, one would think it could be done with every version of the Bible they print. Just wondering if perhaps they have already done it.
I never thought of that. A book that just has the notes and info. That would be nice if they did one.
Yes - I've seen a review of this bible where you could just access the notes (via an app/website) which organises the notes according to the translation you're reading
this is a VERY large/heavy Bible. I like it but just too monsterous to take anywhere. I put it on a table at home to read it due to the weight. I ended up returning it since I needed something with a larger font (though the font size on it is not bad… just the notes are too small) that was small enough to carry with me to church.
I have a large print but it has full color on all illustrations. Is this a newer edition?

the Bible Dry Highlighters work really well, I have a video titled Bible Marking Pens and a show them in that video and the Bible I show in that video doesn't have as good of paper as this one does so they should work better in this one.
10 point font
That one looks awesome, especially since it is in the large print format. I ended up just going down to Dollar General and getting a cheap $5 pair of readers and what a difference those make. I can read all of my regular Bibles now, no problem. They do give me a bit of a headache, which I have issues with but what do you do? :P Another great review, even if I'm a few years late on this one. God bless my friend.
reading glasses make all the difference in the world and your eyes will adjust to them over time but it is so nice to be able to see things you didn't realize you were having a hard time seeing.
I so wanted to love this Bible. But the pages are so thin- the thinnest I've ever seen, that I had to return it. It is looks like an outstanding Bible. Unfortunate.
ghosting/poor paper is my biggest pet peeve and can make an otherwise amazing Bible one that remains on the shelf. Readability is so important to me.

So what edition of the large print Study Bible has the color photos?
As far as I know this is their only large print edition of the ESV Study Bible.
I am trying to decide between this and the life essentials interactive bible, which do you prefer?
I like that this one has large print but I think the regular size edition has better print quality in it which makes it easier on my eyes. The Life Essentials one is a really neat Bible but if I could only have one I would opt for the ESV Study Bible because I would not use the interactive material every time I used the Bible but with the ESV one you'd have all the images, charts etc still there as well as all of the study notes. If you prefer the CSB translation the CSB Study Bible has a lot of full color images as well as all of the study notes and they offer it in a large print edition as well, in fact I will be filming the review of it in the next few days. I think the interactive ones are great to have in addition to a good study Bible.
Why don't they just print all the information and not the actual text in a separate book so we can get all the information on a even larger print. I love the editors and creators approach on this bible. The footnotes and all the informational text and maps and pictures in this bible is outstanding.
It would be awesome to have a separate book for all the study materials. Barbour makes a Bible study companion with just the notes and I’d love to see other publishers do the same thing. Crossway makes some nice Bibles. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it
What is the difference between this one and the CSB Study Bible?
They are different translations and done by different publishers so they will be quite different. They’re both great Bibles but I would go with the one that you prefer the translation of. If you can I’d take the time to read a few chapters in each translation and see which one you like more, one might speak to you more than the other so read the same few chapters in each one and see which one you understand more and which one you like the language of more because that will make a difference in how much you enjoy reading from it and how much you will take away from your time reading it. Because both will have very good study notes and both will have neat study features like charts, artists recreations and such so go with the translation that you prefer because that is what will be most important. Does the paper quality ruin it and does it Ghost to much?
I apologize for the delay in responding but for some reason this comment went into the spam folder...The paper isn't too bad in this one and any time I have an issue with ghosting in a Bible I just put a piece of black paper behind the page and that reduces it a lot! Which do out think is better bible, the fire bible or Esv study
Keri Murphy if I had to choose between the two I would choose the ESV Study Bible by Crossway. It is overall one of the absolute best study Bibles ever produced. It’s got multiple contributors so it’s not just based on one persons commentary or opinions. It’s a great study Bible!
A 10 point font is definitely no large. I find a 10pt. font a real struggle to read... An 11-12 would be so much better.
Yes I agree with you, I find a 10pt comfort print font easier to read then many other fonts in a 11-12pt font. I have to wear reading glasses for everything so even a 14-up font I need the reading glasses which isn’t fun but I am used to it. I’ve bought Bibles with super giant print because I know at some point I will need it.
