I adore my Saturn Sky Redline....its so underrated! She has a tune on her and always turns heads!!! The Saturn is way better than the Solstice. I am still rocking her out, daily driver...
Hurt your feelings?
@@richardmyers7847 nah! I have too much fun!
Is it reliable be honest looking at buying one
@@emmep2749 ok bro wish me luck abt to but one it has 49k miles
@@emmep2749 heard they have sun coolant issues too
😂🤣😂 I swear, before this video started, an ad for Mazda Miata came on.
No room for a toothbrush? lol...I complained about the space in the trunk too, until someone called me out and sure enough my golf bag and shoes fits just fine with the top down and can even get a small backpack duffle in there too with the top down.
A pound of..leafs. can fit in there as well
We have a member in the car club with one of these, it's amazing. A Miata on steroids. Comfortable, quick, like the Little British Sports Car grew up.
I still love these cars. If you wanted something more exclusive this was it.
Biggest mistake I made was not to buy the hard top when the sales manager told me to buy it. Saw one sold for $80k at auction. 😢
I like these cars what wast the power n torque off the v8 modelo ones did it have a LS or LT on them
In the USA it is strictly inline 4 cylinder. 2.4l naturally aspirated or 2 liter with turbo. Any v8 is modified not factory.
Its Opel Speedster or Vauxhall VX220 in europe and it share Series 2 Lotur Elise chassis
No true…
It’s the Opel gt in Europe lol
*Trump voice* wrong
The Saturn Sky "could" have been better than the Miata if GM continued to develop and support it.
As it was, it was an impressive first release, but it isn't a Miata beater because it has no support either from its manufacturer or third parties.
Don't even get me started on how GM messed up the Volt by making it completely unlike its prototype. At least the Sky was really close to the prototype.
You can’t swap parts out from the solstice??
Mallet has entered the chat
ITS BOB 👏👏👏
ITS ANDY 👏👏👏
Never forget the red line
Blue shirt guy looks like Yuri from Straightpipes
I own a solstice. While I (obviously) disagree on styling, the car is *perfect* for it's smiles per dollar value. However, youll need a second car for life's normal situations.
Cool cars, impossible to get parts for 😢 same with the Pontiac
Lies. Stop making up shit.
@@darkblack7317 I’m not lying, I genuinely think Saturns are cool 😎
@@StoneyBaloneyUSA you said it's impossible to get parts so you're lying
@@darkblack7317 It’s a hyperbole.
@@StoneyBaloneyUSA no..... It's a flat out lie.
I have the exact same Saturn sky. Always get looks on the road. Manual is a lot of fun to drive, even Base. But that's my opinion.
The Sky was ment to be driven top down, only.
One car is rwd one is fwd, not at all comparable.
Miata vs corvette? Thats a comparison.
They're both rear wheel drive bro...
I didn't know the Miata was FWD 🤣
I’ve got my Redline at 321 horsepower and it’s scary fast. Drop it from 5th to 4th at 70 mph ant the car lifts up and rockets to over 120 is less than 6 seconds. Scary fast.
😅
HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY EVERYONE ✌️
GM plastics… no thanks
Saturn Sky was way better looking than the Miata and the Redline Turbo just destroys any stock Miata. The real issue was, at that price wouldn't you want a Corvette?
mine hauls arse....love her
2007Saturn Sky Red Line was only 28,000, the base Corvette was 45,000.
It's not better than a Miata. It may look better, but they are not comparable.
It beat Miata in SCCA every year
First.
Iron Duke engines??
Please….🤣
Take a sky/solstice and any Miata era on a tight race track-both of the GM variants would be lost in the Miata’s mirror….until a straight occurs.
Read the original reviews n comparos-they were straight line performers only.
Iron duke? Lol they haven't made that motor since the 90's
No stock Miata can even hang with the redline. As for non-turbo the miata only wins on tight slow courses due to weight differences. I would know as we ran a solstice in autocross 4 years and never lost to any miata. The s2000 was the only competition as club edition aero was too good.
@@toTheWatcher it was a crude car for gm- almost a kit car at best.
I was a sales mgr for Cadillac n Chevy store n wife was a Pontiac gmc sales mgr.
Ck out the service lines in those days to see what feeble cars gm produced in those days n worse now-Cadillac is an embarrassment to the marque. Ck out “driver 46” races against cars that would use solstice n skys for dart targets😎🏁🎄
@@mauricesoulis1590 lol now it makes sense, you're a typical sales person. Just spout off random unrelated info to the subject that isn't quantifiable or makes any sense to the topic. You bringing up the iron duke is fact enough of your knowledge on the subject.
@@toTheWatcher yer fun!
I mentioned iron duke as a gag- u must be in academia or accounting ya?! Lol-
Keep rooting for a loser of a company- be proud mate!🏁
@@toTheWatcher btw don’t take my word for it! I saw back end service n parts make a fortune on the general- I had to be the liaison between hostile customers and pos products-
Watch what I recommended earlier n it will all make sense to ya
I think the Solstice looks far better .
well.. no
@roger hill Well yes, lol, they're both awesome.
I own a sky redline. I think the front of the sky looks way better. The interior and the rear of the solstice look better IMO. I just think the front of the solstice looks like a fiddler crabs face. Weird comparison, I know
nope. Miata felt like a fun car. Saturn Sky felt like a whale in a penguin body.
Don't describe your mother.
Jalopnik just lost every bit of credibility with this video
Says the Miata owner
To be fair, the solstice version got a hard top
