- When Saturn introduced the Sky it was a revolutionary car for the brand. Here is a Saturn Sky that is a revolution within itself. This Sky is powered by a 2JZ Toyota Supra engine. Check out all fabrication that was done to make this build a reality.

I have the same baby at home, I love it would never leave it
It is one amazing car!
Just got a used Sky with 69k miles, runs like a charm, just s beautiful car in and out. I have at least 2-3 people every week commenting on my car, first, they can't believe it's s GM Saturn, or they just don't know what it is, but they love it. I've even had a guy ask me if it was a Ferrari. I was lucky to pick this one up, the interior looks showroom as it was garaged it's whole life. I did have to replace the top convertible because the window detached from the fabric, so I opted to just get a new one rather than bank aid fix it.....this car will definitely be a collector someday !!!
Herb Hurley congrats on your great find. I really think the Sky and Solstice will be remembered as awesome machines. I just wish they could of stuck around.👍🏻
I just picked up a black redline with only 28k miles on it. They are definitely cool cars!
What year of Saturn sky should I get
@@jabberwalkie6349 2007
I have a 2007 black redline with the 2 tone cream/black leather seats and taupe top. I picked it up around thanksgiving time has 32.000 miles on it. Showroom condition as well... garaged it's whole life .1 owner weekend car. I just finished installing the DDM race brace package on it and a K&N cold air intake, Real Burl wood Maple Dash Kit.... next is a Hi-flow Cat and a mach-shorty 3 in. stainless exhaust system then a Tune. I love it so far , cant wait to get it done and take it to autocross !!
This Saturn Sky and Pontiac Solstice is a very underrated car, I think only now people are starting to realise how good these cars are.
I just bought a Saturn Sky Redline...Its a little beast.
Great Review!
I've only seen pictures of this car and it's really great to have a video and you did an excellent job narratively and the camera work was ace. Subbed
Great video Raiti’s Rides!! That’s one cool car!!! Keep up the great reviews and have a great weekend!!! 🚗
Thanks Shaun for the awesome support! I hope your weekend goes well!
Great video! always nice to see you do a sky or a solstice. I own a Solstice and love it. Body is still relevant even today. Fun and comfy ride!!
instaBlaster.
I believe the Sky/Solstice is based on the Opel GT from Europe.
You are correct! It is sad that they are both gone!
@steelmesh the Pontiac Solstice came out two years before the first Sky ever hit the streets...
@steelmesh My comment was in response to why the Pontiac Solstice outsold the Saturn Sky and Opel GT "significantly"... it is because Saturn Sky didn't come out until 2008 and the 1st Solstices we're rolling off the line in 2006... Plus by 2008 a significant number of people who are going to buy into the Kappa platform were already doing so... and then by 2009 Saturn/GM were already in the process of shutting down....👍
Other way around, the Opel GT was a rebadged Sky. The Kappa platform was developed in the US and all Kappa cars were built in Delaware. The cars used a really cool unibody with a central tub but then just framerails at the front and the back, and saved development money by using a CTS rear differential, Cobalt and Cobalt SS engines, a regeared and strengthened Colorado transmission, and some borrowed Cobalt suspension pieces.
Raiti's Rides They may be gone! But these bad boys are still out here. I have a Saturn Sky base model at 22 so they definitely caught the younger generation. Candy red... beautiful car. Planning on making it a 2020 Saturn Sky if you catch my DRIFT 😉😆 Gonna completely remodel the engine to a big boy V8 and so many more mods inside and out. It’s gonna look like it came out this year! I can’t wait to share. I’ll sub and hit that notification bell so I can keep up with ya and when I get my car mods I’ll be more than happy to share it with you and the world!!! WE NEED GM BACK!!
Great video, that's very different. Never got any of those in Australia, I think the closest we got to that was the VXR Corsa but they were front wheel drive if I remember correctly. The 2JZ conversion is awesome, I'm surprised they managed to even fit it in there lol.
Adam Randell thanks brother! This one is SUPER unique. The fabrication was done so well. It sounded really good leaving!
Very cool car, great work joe!
Double G thanks for your continued support.
We went to a car dealership as a kid and I remember them hitting the door. Crazy lol I haven't thought about that in years
Wow first time i ever heard of Saturn. I just looked up and it shares the same chassis as the Opel GT and Pontiac Solstice.
It def an interesting conversion. Because typically most of the Saturn Sky conversion are normally LS engine swaps.
A 2JZ in a small car is def fresh and mind blowing. And will surprise a few guys at the stop light.
Lin Chester I’m so glad I was able to bring you something new.
This thing sounds so sick with that 2JZ!
Lin Chester
If and when I blow my stock 2.0l I will probably go this route. They say it's an easier build than the LS. Will have to research it more when that time comes
Love it. Too bad Saturn is gone, this is a sweet ride
Sick 2JZ conversion! You should get some of these guys to run their cars for the camera!
I am so glad that you liked this Saturn Sky with some trickery under that hood! I will be getting some footage together soon! Stay Tunes!
Raiti's Rides nice, can’t wait!
Thanks you so much for sharing the car passion with me!
This thing must be mind blowing to drive!
jdrracer this thing sounded so sweet!
jdrracer
They're a blast and 1/2 just stock turbo ie Redline. I can just imagine what this baby feels like. I wonder how many speeding tickets the owner has?
Love those rims. Yeah very sad that the sky was discontinued.
But it makes the ones out there all the more rare and sought after
BigBearHuskyMusher thanks for your awesome feedback!
Nice video...very informative...
That's sweet nice custom
kg the great one definitely a one of a kind!😊👍🏻
I love the look of the vented hood louvers. Has anyone ever seen those for sale
AGREED!
They're from a Mustang! :)
Love my red one- :) nice video
Wished I had those mods on my yellow Redline.
BTW...A lot of people want to know if they can put 275/40/18s on the stock 8" rim.
Yes...No problem. I have Mickey Thompson Street comps on my stock rims.
They grip and stabilize so much better than the stock 245s and they look amazing.
BigBearHuskyMusher thanks for your awesome feedback!
He's got the 275/40/18s in the front. Wonder what his rim offset is. I'm gonna check see if my stock rims with 275s will fit in the front without removing the inner fender splash guards. I'll post back wwith the results when I do
I bought a Sky Redline this year. Fantastic car for the money.
You’re welcome!!! Thank you !!!
Shaun Christensen I 😊👍🏻
BTW, going to Cars and Coffee at Gateway Classic Cars at 351 30th Street NE
Ruskin, FL 33570 on the 28th of April , going to check it out.
Is that at the end of the month? I have been on the fence about going. Let me know what you think!
OK
Myller De Araujo how is that event? Where are you at now?
I love the sky really enjoyed driving it
It is such a unique car and so terrible that they are not making it anymore!
Raiti's Rides
If more people bought them when we built them, GM would still be making them!
That beautiful ride was built @ the Wilmington, Delaware Assembly Plant. They are currently tearing that plant down. Sadly!
Man that's good design, Saturn sky whoops ass
fernando meneses the owner really did his homework!😊👍🏻
Inside has too much plastic? Do what I did I wrapped the door inside panels and the center consul in gorgeous Napa leather with diamond stitch quilt
where did you get the hood vents what co. makes these
I will find out for you by the ower.
Yeah where to get those hood vents. nice looking. Ii'd like to know as well
I was searching the comments for the vents too. I'll check back.
qfloyd25 I’ve been trying to track down the owner.
RB25DET 240SX Review soon???
UnstableAdrianHD yes sir! I’m ready!
Dude i have a question this car also is 2.0 turbo same as saab 9-3 turbo?
Do you mean stock from the factory?
@@RaitisRides yes from factory
Yes it is! Thanks for asking!
I have the 07 solstice with stage 3 tune oh yeah she move
What year is this car?
2007 I believe. Thanks for watching!
Raiti's Rides yep! Thanks for responding
If this is his car. Why in the hell is he doing a history video about it at a car show? Plus it's not original with a Toyota engine. Sorry man-not for me.
It is not my car! I like to review cars at car events that I go to. Thank you so much for watching!
@@RaitisRides It's Paul Clark's awesome "Driver's Car".
When did he claim it was his..?
Well,....... I still would race it.
Furby AndElmo it would be to! 👍🏻😊🏁🏁🏁
They should have put in a LS7 engine
Nice car but original is what I preferred. The modded engine kills it for me.
I can see your point especially because it is getting harder and harder to find Saturn Skys.
What’s a Pontiac sky?
Saturn
GM screw themselves over. Miss seeing them on the road and also Pontiac, BTW did you find out the power this thing has Joe?
Angelo Gonzalez I miss them to. Somebody told me around 650!
Only #3000 ....👍
Should've axed the GMC brand and kept Pontiac
Lexus sc300
non vvti 😍
Yes sir!
If you're going to do crazy on these, do it with an LS7 not Toyota-you must be mad.
I think the owner wanted to be unique with this build!
Half the price and more reliable. 2jz drops right it. Infact it's a common upgrade to drop a solstice transmission into a supra.
Use IT..... 2yz
Is Pink and cute .
Tough cars are shown in the 1/4 mile.
Bla...bla...bla
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
Way overpriced
They should have put in a LS7 engine
