    Could you please describe what all is used at 7:00 part? Any real instruments too?

      I was playing guitar through microcosm which was synced to snare trap via midi.

    Is it just me or does the delay inside this pedal sound an awful lot like the Korg Monotron Delay? Bet they sound great together.

      That sounds fun. May have to try that one day. Haha

    This is class - great video. What is that arpeggiating sample player at 6:00?!

      Thanks dude. Running an arp script on Monome Norns into Snare Trap at 6:00.

    Great Review. How do you sync it with Blooper ?

    • @Wander.Wonder
      @Wander.Wonder  2 роки тому +1

      Just tap tempo here but you could probably sync them via CV with a sequencer. Haven’t tried that though.

    • @Wander.Wonder
      @Wander.Wonder  2 роки тому

      No you need something that sends CV like an interface or sequencer and send it to both pedals.

    Man, I love that Microcosm track with the rhythm on the offbeat. Been playing it all day! Got an OM-1 arriving soon which will sound great with the Microcosm and now I’m thinking the Snare Trap could work so well with them. New to the whole CV stuff though. Is it just controlling the tempo of the Snare Trap? Looks like a SQ-1 which I think can also connect with the OM-1.

    • @Wander.Wonder
      @Wander.Wonder  3 роки тому

      The SQ-1 is triggering and also changing the tempo. I’m pretty new to CV as well. Still learning to use the SQ-1. Definitely a good intro to CV with pedals.

    Excellent demo! The sonic craziness at the end of this is boss!

    I liked the last one best. Does this think make loads of noise? The sound on this pc is bad, but to me it sounds like this pedal lofi the music much. Anyway, makes me think what eurorack modules would make sense for a guitarist to use in a small eurorack case/pod. Or are pedals in general best and eurorack is just silly expensive and pointless for a guitarist?

    • @Wander.Wonder
      @Wander.Wonder  3 роки тому

      It’s not noisy on it’s own, probably just my choice of instrument tones and pedal combos. I don’t have any modular gear so I can’t really help out there. I think more pedal makers are starting to add cv and midi to kind of bridge that gap. Matt Lowery seems to do a great job of combing guitars, pedals and modules. Basically most companies seem to just make pedals or modules so I think it’s just a matter of time before we start seeing pedals in module form and vice versa. Zoia and poly digit are good examples of a pedal that is also a module now.

      @@Wander.Wonder Thanks for reply Wanderer. This is a rather long rant and I don't expect any comments on this, but someone might find it entertaining:
      A thing though is that modular signals are so hot compared to normal/line level synths, and compared to guitar it's even worse.
      Maybe eurorack is from Venus and guitars are from Mars?
      Anyway, sending unattenuated cv from eurorack to a pedal might fry it, and you would need to amplify any instruments you send into a rack. There are modules that do this but then on top of any modules a guitarist might like to use, he/she would need the case obviously, but also inn and out modules, probably send and return and something to safely send cv to other pedals, maybe in combination with floating ring cables, and for that money one could get some really cool pedals.
      Most fx modules are probably not as good or much more expensive than comparable pedals, but modules can do things pedals can't, analogues to having several exp. inputs on each pedal and a team of ompa lompas working on the pedalboard while you play.
      So maybe a guitarist might be better of mounting a drumkit on the back and a harmonica in front of his/her mouth?
      There are as you sort of say some interesting similarities between a pedalboard and modular, and some pedals are clearly inspired by, or are even synths by themselves, like the two you mention, but also many more.
      A pedal that I find worth mentioning in this context is the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Signal Blender that makes a pedalboard more modular.
      And this is sort of funny, but I have problems seeing this as the best of two worlds really:
      www.gearnews.com/tabletop-modular-synth-modules-in-guitar-pedal-style-from-hungry-robot-modular/
      One day soon we will see a band playing only on pedals.

      Great insight. The impedance matching seems to be a challenge unless you invest in the right modules or something like a boredbrain. I hope to build a small rig in the future but I think a great analog synth and certain pedals can fill that void for me for a while.

      @@Wander.Wonder Oh absolutely. To anyone considering eurorack I would recommend a semi modular, like Moog Mother 32, Make noise 0 Coast or Pittsburgh Modular Lifeforms sv1, in combination with a controller like Arturia keystep or beatstep and or maybe the Korg SQ1 that you got. This as no matter how many modules you might get you will always find use for the functions such a synth offer. I started with Mother, but from what I know today I think I would have chosen sv1 as it got two oscillators and thus makes a richer sound. Mum got an inbuild sequencer with sort of keys, but I'm not the only one who think her sequencer sucks.
      If I was not into eurorack I think I would go for the Korg minilogue XD, with or without keys, or the Monologue, that I think might be the best value for money. But it is also a matter of tastes when it comes to the sound, (the filter here has most to do with this I suppose), and of course the operation vs features=complexity ratio is important to consider. Menus, the sequencer, multi functional buttons and button combinations, that kind of thing.

    • @Wander.Wonder
      @Wander.Wonder  3 роки тому

      Yea man, totally agree. I’m thinking that I may get a Moog Matriarch as my first semi modular to start exploring patching before I dive into building a eurorack.
