Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water follows the journey of Jake Sully and Neytiri's newfound family. Despite their best efforts to keep their family together, a familiar threat resurfaces and forces Jake, Neytiri, and their four children to flee to the land of the Metkayina clan.

Mo’at is one of the most underrated and wisest characters in the story. She is like the cool wise grandma and has always the most open minded person (Na’vi) in the story. She welcomed Jake and asked Neytiri to teach him, she freed Jake when everyone else has given up on them, and she was leading the spirit transfer for both Grace and Jake. If you really think about it everything happened because of Mo’at.

Oh my god James Cameron used one of many writing techniques and used the heroes journey and plot from another movie! How cool! God you guys are children with a bright light, it's just sad how this is impressive to people when it's bare minimum story telling. Check out something better, like Arcane or Better Call Saul, made by actually talented people who can write.

@@kassaken6521no there wont be atleast not before they have finished all other movies. Afterwards they might do some collection that has all movies as extended editions (not their words, just that I wouldn't be surprised if they did that). But dont expect to have any extended edition of this movie before then
There are still so many unfinished scenes from the first movie that never made it into any extended cut. It would be great if they ever get back and put money into creating ultimate cuts. Sell it at any price, I'll get it.
It really breaks my heart to see them have to leave their home, and upon seeing Mo'at comforting her daughter, saying that "everything will be alright, we will see each other again someday when the time is right" in Na'vi language, I started to shed tears of great sorrow for them both. Also, even seeing Tuktirey begging her maternal grandmother Mo'at to go with them, and when Mo'at couldn't go with them because their people; the Omatikaya Clan needed their Tsahik, now more than anything, Tuk started to cry and gave her grandmother one last hug just like Neytiri did with her too. It was really sweet of Lo'ak for giving his mother the bow that originally belonged to her father Eytukan, who was also his maternal grandfather and he died trying to help people when the RDA soldiers destroyed their home tree, which was sixteen or fifthteen years ago. I can't help but feel sad for both Neteyam, Kiri, Lo'ak, Tuk, and their parents that they had to leave their home, their people, and even their maternal grandmother Mo'at in order to keep them both safe, and to get away from the vengeful Quaritch, who has been brought back from the dead in the body of Na'vi/Avatar, and the rest of the RDA soldiers. It truly breaks my heart to see them this way. May Eywa be with them, protect them from harm, guide them to a safe place, and give protection to the People of the Omatikaya Clan, and their spiritual leader Mo'at from harm while they're traveling through the oceans 🥺😢💔🙏

@@antheamyro9722 yeah the movie is honestly really depressing like I feel like neytiri lost too much, and if you've seen some of the other deleted scenes it's pretty crushing and I think they need to add more romantic and happy scenes with just Jake and neytiri in the next movie, because it is that reason plus toruk and the other amazing parts that the first avatar did so well
I will never forget the scream Moat gave when she saw that the Hometree was destroyed. phenomenal acting.
CCH Pounder's acting really is phenomenal.
It was so sweet when Lo'ak gave his mother the bow. I wish we could've seen more of a relationship between Neytiri and her boys Neteyam and Lo'ak and something about the way how she treated each of them separatly (of course she loved both of them, but she seemed more in connection with her older son than Lo'ak. He had more of his father's traits rather than his mother's). Or maybe in general just more of Neteyam and Lo'ak bonding together on screen. Or Neteyam with his sisters.
Very interesting you mentioned this cause we’ve mostly only seen how much friction Lo’ak and Jake has in their relationship and they have a complete arc from initially misunderstanding to finally understanding, while Lo’ak with Neytiri wasn’t explored at all. It seems from here Lo’ak has a softer more loving relationship with his mother compared to Jake.

I always thought that Neteyam was a mama's boy (was closer to his mother) and Lo'ak despite his tensions with Jake is gonna be a daddy's boy, because they are so much alike and maybe Neteyam's death will bring both of them closer. I'm really hoping they can rebulid their relationship for better in the third and next movies.
Yeah I was also hoping for Neytiri to get some cool motherly scenes towards her boys. Would’ve contrasted nicely when she goes apeshit at the end.
Mo'at would be devastated if she ever found out that Neteyam was killed.

I remember seeing the mocap scene with trinity bliss who plays tuk and the actress who plays mo'at were there hugging so cool to see what that scene was going to look like
This is what I expected from them. I had a feeling Tuk would miss Mo'at the most. I also like how she called Tuk by her full name.

They should have kept this scene and the date night moment and taken out some of the action. These scenes add more emotional value to the movie. Its not just BAM, we're leaving.
This seen gave me true chills because Neytiri and her mothers bonded feels even more real , reminding me of how hard it is to brake away from ones last reminisce of her culture & family to keep her children safe / I truly feel jake will never truly understand Neytiri's pain and nuances of his role he played in wipeing her people out , like she was so young and easily manipulated by Jake when she met him and idk it hurts seeing what happened to her not seen as more important then Jake becoming navi and "one of the people" 😮💨💔😔
It hurts to see how there’s been so many clips that I wished could’ve been added, it would’ve shown so much to the story and the emotion these characters expressed. ❤
Tuk is now my new fav sully because of this scene. They should’ve kept it in the movie❤
I hate that Jake had to quit his role as Toruk Makto and that they had to leave the rainforest due to Quaritch trying to hunt them down, but I do like that Avatar 2 takes place by the ocean. I absolutely love the ocean!
I'm glad Mo'at is still around to help Jake and Neytiri lead the people as Tsahik. I hope we her again in some shape or form, in the years to come.

I understand your great sorrow for them, and I don't blame you, I shed so many tears for them because they had to go away and Mo'at couldn't go with them because she has to stay with her people as she is their spiritual leader, and they need her more than ever. I love hearing Lo'ak call Neytiri mother, its so respectful and we barely got any scenes of them talking to each other. He only calls her mom in the final cut I really wish they kept this in.

they should of kept it in cause honestly i wondered why it seemed like they never said goodbye and i was questioning why they didnt add anything for that..
I think a better reason to abandon your home would be that the recombined will achieve their infiltration mission in the Omatikaya base, using bombs and C4, doing considerable damage and compromising your location, causing the entire clan to flee and separate to seek refuge in other territories, that would have given Sully better reasons to escape and would demonstrate the effectiveness and danger of the recom team.
I feel like Neytiri''s story/emotional journey took a backseat in the second movie, and I hate it! She went through so much from leaving her home and mother, to losing her son. She barely had any scenes, even though she was arguably going through the most. It also would have been nice to see scenes of her adapting to life on the reef. We got like none of that. Neytiri fans were robbed lol!

Leaving her home would be sooo hard. She’s only known that place. I would’ve gladly watched a 5 hour long avatar movie they should keep scenes like this in the movies. It would make the movie 1000000000x times better
Why was this cut out of the movie? God it FRUSTRATES me how movie directors are just happy with deleting perfect scenes from movies for 0 reason. Christ.
I can’t even give the excuse that James had a reason to cut these scenes out, I mostly blame Disney for trying to Disney-fye a story that’s quite literally about the genocide and the forced removal of native peoples from their homelands.

What would you cut such emotional and dramatic character moment for Neytiri and her mom?! It was so baffling that we'd never see Neytiri kiss goodbye to her own mom. Cameron missed an important character beat of the story but Neytiri felt shortchanged all the way through the movie.
I won't lie, I was super disappointed in the lack of Mo'at in A2. This scene would've added just enough to give closure to very short screen time.

personally i would have prefered scenes like these instead of the amount of tulkun and tulkun hunting scenes we got, specifically the amount of time wasted on the hunting crew and the biologist with a guilty conscience.
Instead we could have far more scenes like these, maybe some more with Neteyam and Tuk, bc unlike Lo'ak and Kiri those two really were pushed to the background. Or Neytiri who, once again, loses so much bc of humans. Like here. The movie repeatedly instilled in us that it is about family, and a family sticking together during a big crisis.
So why is it that i am wasting time watching a bunch of whales? I'm not even talking about the dead tulkun and its baby that were so close to Ronal, like that scene was important in terms of setting the mood. But man, seeing scenes like these being left out really annoys me. Three hours and somehow it still felt like a mess that didnt utilize the time properly, and i am saying this as someone who loves the franchise.
