Watching Ripley's reactions to "jumping" between the mushrooms was every kind of wholesome.
Look at how happy that family is. Damm Nintendo went ham on it and made people rejoice with everything. Awesome to see your family and friends had a shot on such an experience

the development teams at Universal seem to have gotten really good at the big "reveal" when entering a park. Whatever might be said of Harry Potter, they proved this with those additions thanks to how they carefully placed the entry points to make that first walk-in something to remember.
The fact you got to share this moment with your family is what it's all about.

It's really interesting that the lighting and colors they use inside the space makes it actually look like you're in a video game with video game textures. It looks like you're walking around with augmented reality goggles on it's kind of messing with my brain especially with the fake sky

I was born in 02 and raised pretty heavily on Nintendo games. I played a lot of classic nintendo games as well as a lot of the newer Mario games that have come out over my years, so seeing this park is like breathtaking to me, and I know I’m gonna have to go see this for myself sometime. Its stuff like this that makes me so lucky to be alive, the fact that I can go to a Mario theme park and feel like a little kid again, its just magical…

Looking forward to the donkey Kong ride in Orlando :D! (It probably is more your speed Max as it will be a normal ride without any AR) Universal is really doing some cool stuff with their parks at the moment.

my little brother is a BIG Mario/ Nintendo fan he's almost constantly playing Super Mario DS, Mario 64 DS, and Yoshi's Wooly World and he's already on lock to watching the Mario movie AND going to Super Mario Land. i cannot wait to go to Universals again on my little brother's birthday and to see his reaction to everything in the land. it's exciting seeing everyone's reactions and yours Max and them all being so positive.

Lucky!!! I went to Universal during the holidays and stood in front of the entrance and really want to see what's inside! Man it looks amazing, looking forward to visit there when it finally opens!!!!
I went and just being there makes you happy man. If you have any nostalgia or connection with nintendo and mario, its pretty emotional. I recorded my whole day n analyzed what music is there from what mario and put it up. Mariokart is a genius ride but you don’t get it until multiple rides. It isn’t watered down & accessible for the masses so you need to put in the time to adjust to it. They really went for it.

Gotta say as someone who recently went to the one in Japan, this is just the kind of video I’m looking for to compare my experience with and see what I can expect from the one in Hollywood. Was thinking of taking a friend here for his birthday as he’d never been to any kind of Universal Studios, and I wasn’t sure how much was carried over or changed from Japan. Other than the Yoshi ride being missing (for now) and presumably its associated food stand (which was also pretty great. They had Koopa shell buns that was either a cheese calzone if it was red or had yakisoba in it if it was green), looks like a very similar experience, and hopefully I’ll be able to actually get to try the Chef Toad food this time rather than get discouraged by an hour long wait two hours before the park closes.
Must have been really cool for your daughter to see that, I'd love to have seen something magical like that as a kid, I'm sure she'll never forget it. Being a lifelong gamer It's crazy seeing all this finally come to life. It's amazing how far the industry has come.

3:14 = My brother & I do. We love going on all the rides and being around the entire place & taking in the amazing atmosphere.
Never imagined that my childhood would literally come to life right before my eyes but this is exactly that. It's like if you got sucked into Super Mario World while playing your Super NES & actually finding yourself in The Mushroom Kingdom itself. I can't wait to go myself.
Max & Ripley look so cool taking in SNW together and jumping on Mushrooms. But where's the Zelda attractions? What about Kirby, Fire Emblem, Pikman, Starfox, etc. Any plans for rides based on those?
One day you're scoring Nukes and uploading high skill COD game play. The next you're a dad watching your daughter have the best time of her life. Man time flies

I just got to go yesterday. It was genuinely so awesome. The feel of being in the park was astounding. The scale of everything is PERFECT. You really feel like you've fallen down the rabbit hole a little bit. The moving parts on all the props are so well executed.
I took some pictures that I looked at later, and something about the lighting and color just legit made it look like I was staring at a game.
I tend to agree a bit about the Mario Kart ride. The AR was both too much and too little at the same time. There was one point during the ride where I realized I was like too intently focused in on the AR screen and I wasn't really SEEing the actual environment behind it which was just as stunning as off the ride. Plus the actual game part of the ride was pretty one note from what I could tell. That said, it was still a good experience and I think I'd do it again. Max was right that the line for the ride was actually mega cool. So many little world building things. Since you enter into Bowser's castle, you get to kinda see into Bowser's mind in a way we don't normally see. It was very cool.
I'm not really a fan of theme parks, but man this is AWESOME!

Ripley probably thought you guys went to a whole other magical dimension. Probably an insane experience as a kid. Can’t imagine this place while it’s packed though

I don’t know if it’s only a Canadian thing but the Scooby Doo ride at Canada’s wonderland will always hold a special place in my heart. Best gimmick ride ever!

As someone who grew up with Nintendo and Super Mario Bros. as a kid in the early 90s this makes me very happy! I really wanna visit this Super Nintendo World theme park someday! I'm also glad that I won't have to fly to Japan for that dream to happen! I can just drive there so it's closer now! I'm glad that it's pretty detailed and has all of the Mario stuff in there. It looks like something worth going to with the family like you guys did!

From your retelling, it seems the land envokes the same feeling that Galaxy's Edge does to a Star Wars fan. Definitely excited to experience this!

I actually teared up when I saw the park and I'm not even the biggest Mario fan, but those early games on NES/SNES/N64 are what I grew up with. Maybe it's because I'm like Ripley and got to experience Disney World at that age. But I'm so thrilled you all got to go. And Ripley is so happy and adorable!
