Here’s a super cool bro story about Max. We were playing a very early copy of marvel at Max’s house it was me Steve and the guy who brought in marvel. Max and I were still just acquaintances. We played Marvel till about 4:30 in the morning Max happen to live two blocks away from where I worked. I was horrified because it takes me two hours in traffic to get to work. I asked Steve dude do you think Max will let me sleep in his house for a few hours. We asked him and he said yeah. I was so unbelievably grateful that day

We've gone to the movies about like 30+ times, we go to arcades, grab some lunch/dinner at various restaurants, gone to a couple car shows, been to the Renaissance, been to the rodeo,, and sometimes when there's not much going on and we just wanna hang out, we'll chill at his place and just watch movies or play video games till like 6 in the morning. I want to say a sincere huge thank you to Max (and Videogames ofc) for his content, humor and very cool soulful persona, just be a dood he always be - Not only did I learn more about Fighting games in general (bc i love em casually and i still em), but I fell in love with them again, not to mention that at that time I was not very good at English, but listening to Max, I also learned more just in this way (now I understand 99%), and I am also wildly grateful for the fact that he showed me in his own way what the word HYPE is TRULY and how you can enjoy special moments - for example, I don’t really like the same reactions as content, but from Max - I always enjoy and get high, it charges me, and I opened it with EVO Hype Rage and I STILL rewatch 2014 and Garireo Comeback like my favorite anime series with that perfect music and commentary, it gives me strength and inspiring me. I just want such people to be fine and Max deserves all that he has achieved - and I'm talking about family and such friends first of all, of course. From Russia (not Zangief ^^) with Love, Dood !

It's crazy hearing these stories again several years later! I remember my fiancé got me to ask how Max gets his hair looking so good too 🤣

That's beautiful, here's to everlasting love and friendships that last a lifetime! You all make me happy, especially the baby! Ripley is growing up so fast 😢
This is beautiful. Some of my favorite memories is those sleepovers just playing video games all day and night with friends, and going to Arcades/game stores/comic book stores and just chopping it up with strangers who like similar nerdy shit. I definitely miss the Arcades the most, although there has been some resurgence in some areas, with Arcade bars and game lounges. But it's definitely not the level it was in the 90's to mid 2000's.
That Damn! Max said while looking at Jessica. ❤ I've been with my wife for about 12 years and it really hits, that this women still decided I was worth something, way back 😆
That's really cool to hear. I always wondered how you guys all met. Max living the dream getting the girl from working in a game store and doing drawings haha.
im not a dood, but i met max at a E3 line for the first playable final fantasy remake demo for the public. behind me was the fighting gameworld god me and my friends have been fans of since highschool(max, who btw was making me feel mad nervous being so cool talking to his wife and friends and stuff) and there were some japanese doods in front of me who didnt understand the process it takes to play the ff7R demo and unfortunately none of the staff spoke japanese, weirdly enough after living in japan for 5 years i had become fluent in the language so i got the japanese doods the info they needed and made sure no more of their time was wasted, and it was at that moment, a voice with the smooth lightness of 1000 cherubs would beckon me... "dood.." i turned around to see godlike golden hair swaying, "not all heroes wear capes" from that moment forth i knew Max was telling me with great power comes great responsibility and to use my language ability for good and ive been saving random japanese business men ever since. Thanks Max!
Met so many friends and closet people in my life through YoVideoGames, and it happened because i got annoyed one day from Max's stream announcements videos spamming my subscription feed back around late 2013. Best decision ive ever made
I remember the first time i seen Max and the Doods from a compilation of RE2 remake teaser reveal. I heard “that guys a maniac! Why he bite mee!” from Max. Found out what their channel was cause these guys look interesting and the room looked cool. Watched more reactions from them. First full video I watched was his RE2 original Leon B walkthrough. Then once I found out how big of a fan he was to FF7, the rest was history. Their group of friends vibe also reminds me of my friend and I too.
I wish I met my friends in this manner. Oldest friend I met when I moved next door as we headed to 4th grade. We didn't talk really but one day we just did. We was gamers. We rented games and all called eachother and be like "I got this game come and check it out." Pretty much brothers. And family took me on vacations. But the rest of my circle I met from him in middle school because he had band with one friend and introduced me to others. I only talk to like 3 of them and the one who was like my brother still lives very close
Well, everyone else is talking about how they found your channel and what it means, so here’s mine lol. I was looking around UA-cam for some killer instinct stuff since I was interested in the game, and I ended up finding one of your videos about it (I believe it was a news video about how it’s possible we won’t see another KI and why), and I ended up just kinda looking around your channel and just enjoying the vibe. Which, it actually means a lot to me that there’s just such a good vibe on the channel because I don’t really know to many people I can geek out about fighting games with, but I can just turn on some of these videos and just have a great time while I play some Tekken or umvc
I absolutely LOVE this sort of content. Thank you for sharing these great stories, Max. I have *very* similar stories of how I met some of my oldest and closest friends, or DOODS, back when I worked in different facets of gaming. And many of them I still keep in touch with to this day--though I do wish I could still play games with them like we used to, much like you all get to do. Those places from the past *also* included EB (Electronics Boutique), Game Crazy (Hollywood Video's chain of game stores), GameWorks Seattle, and other various arcades & small businesses. And that said, I'm, forever grateful for those moments and bonds that were formed. I hope you do more "personal-ish" type videos like this in the future. And, as always, I look forward to joining you in your chat whenever you go live. Much love from my family to yours, Max.
Imagine going into Electronic Boutique back in the day and going into the store and asking for recommendations on cool fighting games and Max ask you if you need help lol epic
I didn't know Electronics Boutique (EB games) existed outside Canada. Duuude, I hung out at EB Games all the time back in the day. Anyway, I find it so cute Max met JJ at one. That's awesome!
*Sigh* I'm a little jealous because I wish I had friends like Max does. So cool to finally hear that story. I met the guys and should have asked tem then.
theres something special and magical about making friends through sth you love like video games. I had a similar story. I had a lot of friends at my elementary school and in my neighborhood in the early 90s, but only few were gamers as gaming itself wasnt mainstream yet. I was one of the few kids that was totally into the snes era and its golden age of incredible games. my mum made a friend who also came from the country she was originally born in. she invited her over for dinner at our house and she brought her son who was around my age. it was a very mum thing to do. I was initially a bit annoyed because it felt forced and against my will to meet this kid. when we got to my house we went to my room and he saw my snes and we started to talk about games. I quickly realized that this kid was a gamer just like me and we nerded out about all the amazing video games we played and wanna play. he heard I got a snes so he brought his copy of F-Zero. So we fired it up and had the most amazing time taking turns playing this absolute gem. Note this was before the internet. Everything was word of mouth and gaming magazines, all offline. We played some other games of mine and had the greatest time just playing, laughing and bonding. We ended up going downstairs to the kitchen to ask his and my mother if he could sleep over so we could play some more. It took some convincing but they allowed it and we went to play all night just having a carefree, honest and fun time doing what we loved, playing video games. This kid turned out to be one of my best friends and like a brother of mine. We lost touch when I went to live abroad and we became adults both occupied with our own things in life. It has been about 25 years now since that day we first met and immediately became good friends. I will never forget the time we had and the memories we made. And it was video games that brought us together. I think I will hit him up as some other dudes comment here and Max talk reminded me of him. Thanks both of you for sharing.
First found you when I newly got a PS3 and the only game in the store at the time was mvc3 but that wasnt my first introduction a day later a friend got me to get soul calibur and i looked up some videos before buying and found yours. Loved the videos so much i subbed and looked at more on your channel thats when i found your assist me and third strike series and that became mt life for years just watching everything on your channel to this day. I was also there when YoVideogames channel was first made and I loved to watch all the lets plays of Donkey Kong and others. Been here for years and dont plan on leaving anytime soon. Video games making lifelong connections out here, happy to see it. Great hobby
Max you and the whole yo videogames crew are my biggest role models and are the whole reason why I'm super into fighting games now. It's thanks to you guys that I have found my passion for fighting games and cannot thank you more than enough for that, I don't know how I would've been without fighting games. Thank you guys so much for the years of entertainment, I love you guys, you guys are the absolute best!
This is the best story of doods meeting each other EVER… I’m so glad you guys found a home in each other’s lives!!! Love your content and I’m patiently awaiting your next Mario Party Superstars playthrough!
Max is the best, wish I had friends like him 😢
Friendship goals. Wish I had a group of pals like this ;-;
Little did that manager know that they would change the shape of the timeline for years to come
I want to say a sincere huge thank you to Max (and Videogames ofc) for his content, humor and very cool soulful persona, just be a dood he always be - Not only did I learn more about Fighting games in general (bc i love em casually and i still em), but I fell in love with them again, not to mention that at that time I was not very good at English, but listening to Max, I also learned more just in this way (now I understand 99%), and I am also wildly grateful for the fact that he showed me in his own way what the word HYPE is TRULY and how you can enjoy special moments - for example, I don’t really like the same reactions as content, but from Max - I always enjoy and get high, it charges me, and I opened it with EVO Hype Rage and I STILL rewatch 2014 and Garireo Comeback like my favorite anime series with that perfect music and commentary, it gives me strength and inspiring me. I just want such people to be fine and Max deserves all that he has achieved - and I'm talking about family and such friends first of all, of course. From Russia (not Zangief ^^) with Love, Dood !
Man, I'm so happy for you and jealous.
I wish I had friends, but I don't.
25 and living in my parent's basement...
I'm hoping for some work friends someday.
@@crewchannel4591 I'm an uber nerd with slight autism. I got homies at work though. Just got open up about your interest and not give af about what people think. You'll be surprised by how many people like similar shit. Like this dude at work. Giant 300Ib dude who you would assume is into things you wouldn't care about and would make fun of your interest. We talk about anime and old ass tv shows all day. I work in an oilfield related job, so Im really the only nerd there, but I still chit chat with all the dumb mf up there, they my people. Just open up and talk to people dude.
@@Clos93 Thanks! I've made a really good friend in nearly every kind of social circle I'm mandated to work with. My big problem is bugging them once the circumstances of seeing each other dissipate. Right now, I'm working remote.
Dude this is a dope story I'd listen to more dood stories
I've been wondering how you all met. You guys are an awesome group.
I remember when I was just fresh out of high school, and I went to momocon Atlanta 2016 (at least i think it was that year.) Yovideogames was doing a panel, and I asked how everyone met there! It's crazy hearing these stories again several years later! I remember my fiancé got me to ask how Max gets his hair looking so good too 🤣
i met YOU guys in 2013 via UA-cam, Max you were playing killer instinct and i was hooked on your videos ever since.
Same here. That and the resident evil playthroughs
You all heard it from Max. Woman like Talent. Pack it up boys
I can easily picture both Simmons and Doom being described as every word he was just described as: mall rat, con head, conlord
as a ConLord...um....oof
It's really cool being able to listen to Max talk about how he met everybody but also cool how despite everyone hating Sonic R the soundtrack is absolutely a banger as always. Living in the city baby!
Eb games! I remember that! 🙊 Nice story bro!!! Makes me remember My good ol days too.
I was a viewer way before Max started his Assist Me series and would regularly watch. MvC3 and 3rd Strike was a good time. Killer Instinct as well.
*How I met YoVideoGames
*music kicks in
*LET'S GOOOO*
That's beautiful, here's to everlasting love and friendships that last a lifetime! You all make me happy, especially the baby! Ripley is growing up so fast 😢
This is beautiful. Some of my favorite memories is those sleepovers just playing video games all day and night with friends, and going to Arcades/game stores/comic book stores and just chopping it up with strangers who like similar nerdy shit. I definitely miss the Arcades the most, although there has been some resurgence in some areas, with Arcade bars and game lounges. But it's definitely not the level it was in the 90's to mid 2000's.
"We used to play a bunch of games, drank code red, and went to denny's"
Yeah, that sounds like a friends group of gamers.
The Jessica story was so romantic it hurts. Like their story could be a wholesome romance movie.
That Damn! Max said while looking at Jessica. ❤
I've been with my wife for about 12 years and it really hits, that this women still decided I was worth something, way back 😆
So we wouldn't have the doods if Max wasn't adopted by the mall gang, got it.
That's really cool to hear. I always wondered how you guys all met. Max living the dream getting the girl from working in a game store and doing drawings haha.
"Videogames brought us all together."
💯
Max's drawings are friggin awesome so it makes perfect sense lol
Having all these cool people in YoVideogames is just like a dream.
"videogames brought us all together"
beautiful
So Steve was Max childhood arrival, nice and beautiful story of how Max met his wife dude
he should turn his life into a story book. its entirely too wholesome
I met this channel around 2013… I love it ever since. Btw I envy and admire the friendship you guys have it’s simply amazing for so many years.
Yet no one dared to ask how he met Ripley?
Chat is cowardly.
im not a dood, but i met max at a E3 line for the first playable final fantasy remake demo for the public. behind me was the fighting gameworld god me and my friends have been fans of since highschool(max, who btw was making me feel mad nervous being so cool talking to his wife and friends and stuff) and there were some japanese doods in front of me who didnt understand the process it takes to play the ff7R demo and unfortunately none of the staff spoke japanese, weirdly enough after living in japan for 5 years i had become fluent in the language so i got the japanese doods the info they needed and made sure no more of their time was wasted, and it was at that moment, a voice with the smooth lightness of 1000 cherubs would beckon me... "dood.." i turned around to see godlike golden hair swaying, "not all heroes wear capes" from that moment forth i knew Max was telling me with great power comes great responsibility and to use my language ability for good and ive been saving random japanese business men ever since. Thanks Max!
Finally the origin story we all have been waiting for!
Alternate title: "How I met Ripley's Uncles"
Met so many friends and closet people in my life through YoVideoGames, and it happened because i got annoyed one day from Max's stream announcements videos spamming my subscription feed back around late 2013. Best decision ive ever made
Max..are you still in touch with your old manager that hyped you up and introduced JJ to you? Are you two still friends?
Didn't expect a lore video but I'll take it.
Oh shit a lore video on YoVideogames? Sign me up
Electronic's Boutique! Damn, do people even know what that is anymore?
I remember the first time i seen Max and the Doods from a compilation of RE2 remake teaser reveal. I heard “that guys a maniac! Why he bite mee!” from Max. Found out what their channel was cause these guys look interesting and the room looked cool. Watched more reactions from them. First full video I watched was his RE2 original Leon B walkthrough. Then once I found out how big of a fan he was to FF7, the rest was history. Their group of friends vibe also reminds me of my friend and I too.
It'a always a joy to watch Max and the crew, they always cheer me up.
Next year will be a decade that I've been subscribe to MAX ...
Damn im getting there... 5 more years and Im out of the 30's 😑 nooooooo....
I might have to work at a games store since every good thing ever happened to Max in one
Much love from my family to yours, Max.
i absolutely luv how good ol' vimeo gamerus brought yall together. so uplifting to hear!
Imagine going into Electronic Boutique back in the day and going into the store and asking for recommendations on cool fighting games and Max ask you if you need help lol epic
Love story time with Max.
I didn't know Electronics Boutique (EB games) existed outside Canada. Duuude, I hung out at EB Games all the time back in the day. Anyway, I find it so cute Max met JJ at one. That's awesome!
I love your guys friendship and funny moments can't get enough 🙂
*Sigh* I'm a little jealous because I wish I had friends like Max does. So cool to finally hear that story. I met the guys and should have asked tem then.
This is such a cool story. I always come back to it every so often
theres something special and magical about making friends through sth you love like video games.
Your one of my all time favourite people and youtubers and im so glad i found you guys ❤️❤️❤️
