As a lifelong resident of New Hampshire, it’s great to see our beautiful state through a fresh pair of eyes. You just barely scratched the surface. Hurry back.
I'm from Maine (the state you drove through after seeing Steven King's mansion). So happy you were there but wish you could have spent some time in Maine. NH is great too! One thing you said early on was that you guys didn't want to have any regrets on your trip. That often times you'd drive by and say "oh, isn't that nice" but now you stop and experience the area, event or whatever. I need to do that more. At 66 years old I realize there is not a lot of time left to make those memories, so thank you for the kick in the butt to go out and experience life, not just view it.
I'm so glad you decided to go to New Hampshire. New Hampshire's beauty leaves an impression on one's heart. It was so amazing meeting you, Demi, on a random loop. You made my day too! 🥰 I'm so happy you got to experience some of the hikes. One of my favorite quotes, "time spent in amongst trees, is never a waste of time." Enjoy every moment. Safe travels - Jann
Perfectly said that’s very true, I absolutely love being in nature ☺️ awww thank you Jann I’ll always remember that meeting! New Hampshire is definitely unforgettable ❤️
I met a Brit in Littleton who was married to an American guy and lived in the White Mountains, too. What's really special about an otherwise seemingly innocuous observation was that over 50 years ago my family moved to an island off the coast of Spain and we would drive to the big city on the island, Palma, Mallorca, to go to an international school there. Turns out she lived in Palma at same time I was commuting there to attend school and she went to an international school as well. We were only a year apart in age, and we started asking each other about the school we went to and found out that she was at a British international school at the same time I was going to the American international school. (Until then, I only thought there was one international school.) But anyways, after half a century and a world away, to have found that we were both going to an international school in the same city and at the same time was quite remarkable. Would have been nice if we had met as kids!
The Kancamangus is a New Hampshire treasure. The Kanc notch at 2885 ft is only 200 ft below loon mtn peak. That notch is a weather maker during the Winter. We camped there in early November and it snowed 3 inches.
Evans notch! Its great to see this area get some attention. The social media side of vanlife has traveled around it in many ways. Great video awesome to see our neck of the woods.
I just stumbled across your channel and love it! Your video editing skills and selection of background music are very impressive. Looking forward to more videos!

I have driven those routes many times. I guess I have taken them for granted all these years. It’s fun to see you enjoy our beautiful States. Safe travels!
Great stuff, “we should be on the Kank drive”, yes the Kankamangas highway is quite a sight and very enjoyable. I’m glad you loved our humble little state that is so often overlooked. Come back anytime and you will experience something totally different from what you saw before especially if you change the time of year. Come spring or fall, this place is wonderful. I grew up in California spent decades overseas working and my wife and I ended up settling here just because of the way it is here in. “Namsha”
Such a beautiful place I’m still reminiscing those moments spent in the river and hiking and seeing the mountains I’d love to see it in the fall I can see why someone would want to live there!
Thank you for a great video about our state. I have only lived here for 6 years but wouldn’t want to live anywhere else - and I have been from Sicily to Fairbanks Alaska and from Iceland and the Shetlands to the Falklands. New Hampshire delivers every day.
Wow! I love that it really is a special place isn’t it and even after speaking to locals everyone was so friendly too it honestly blew me away as we drove through NH I see why you’d want to live there 😍
I so wish you had spent more time in Maine, and visited Vermont, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Each of our New England states have so much to offer. Beautiful coastlines, mountains, forests. Countless quaint little towns. Not to disparage our other states, which I know you are going to enjoy. So glad I stumbled on your channel.
Welcome to New England! But seeing you camping in our great outdoors I think you should get a head's up - if you don't know about Lyme Disease, carried by the miniscule deer tick and very common in this area - learn what you can about it and about avoiding it. Not to sound alarmist but Lyme Disease can be very serious and it is best to get treated sooner rather than later. I was lucky to get treated early, within the first two weeks is best. Those tiny ticks are everywhere outdoors and wearing tick repellant is a must, for our furry friends in particular, the little beasties are so small they are very difficult to see in a pet's fur. People need to check themselves thoroughly as well. If you find a bull's eye bruise get yourself tested. If the first test is negative, request the more expensive second line test which has a much lower false negative rate. Bruising from tick bites is not always present. If ticks are removed early on after biting you the chances of infection are much lower. Care must be taken removing a tick that is biting, learn the proper method to avoid leaving the head of the tick behind. It's wise to be tested after any bite, no matter how brief. Take sensible precautions and enjoy the great outdoors.
Thank you for taking the time out to inform me I do appreciate that, we are aware of the ticks and Lyme disease especially after spending so much time in Nova Scotia we also have them in the UK just not as bad we’re all using repellent and taking precautions as well as being aware Edie also has regular tick treatment and tick spray to help prevent as much as possible
I was also up in that area a few days ago. Next time, stop at Lake Chocorua in Tamworth, NH , you can pull over and swim in that beautiful clean lake , the water is amazing.
You are in my neck of the woods. I grew up in Lincoln 1964 to 1983 been all around since. My mom still lives there wasn’t all that stuff there when I grew up. Enjoy

First time watcher and I have subscribed. I hope to enjoy your journey. We lived in UK for 3 years and enjoyed every minute of our travels there as we explored and the best was getting lost and finding a special place. See you next episode.
New Hampshire is fabulous! I spent much of my childhood there with my older sister who lived there. I used to drive down from Montreal and made many stops on the way. You did well to stay a bit and see how lovely it is and the people are a little more chill than the bigger cities. Vermont is nice as well. My Sister lived in Portsmouth and as I got older I went north anfdsouth Maine and Massachusetts and ended up on Plum Island just behind Newburyport. one half the island is a sanctuary for birds and the other half is residential, if you have time try that you'll like it as well. I am a Canadian and loved spending time in the USA when I was young. Now I live on Vancouver Island so if you get this far BC Canada you must travel the Island it is truly spectacular! happy and safe travels. Thank you for the video it brought back so many warm feelings and memories
What a wonderful place to have grown up and seen in your childhood it sounds truly wonderful, a very special place! We are visiting Vancouver island next year and couldn’t be happier! How’s the weather there during march / April time ?
We vacation in the white mountains all the time and all our kids want to do is just swim. We love finding random spots along the kancamagus . Nothing else but find places like that and swim
The gentleman sent you in the right location. White Mountains are gorgeous. Hopefully you head in the direction he explained to go up the higher mountains. Worth the drive and view. Spent many summers visiting Vermont and New Hampshire and loved the sights. Not the mosquitoes though. Ontario, Canada following your adventures since you arrived.
Such a beautiful place, so many river swims and hikes and endless beauty of the mountains! Definitely came back with a few bites despite trying hard to repel them 😆
The beauty of living in central New Hampshire is that you are only 1 hour away from almost anything: 1 hour from the White Mountains, 1 hour from the Atlantic ocean, 1 hour from Boston... hard to beat it! The Kanc has to be my favorite place on earth!
It's hot here in BC _ Western Canada , and I can feel the cool water with you in New Hampshire . What a great respite for you all. And you boytoy/ excellent cameraman ( name ??) has quite a nice beard on the go. Isn't it great when you get out of the towns and cities.
I love your style of vlogging! SO fun and calm. I am also in NH going on camping trips. I didn't know about Stephen King's house... will be visiting that!!!! I dream about traveling with someone in a sprinter van like you are. You got a new sub!!
I heard you say you’re going to go back-and-forth to New York City. You might like to check out Hudson Valley in New York upstate. In Vermont you’ll love Vermont.
Thanks for sharing this! I like the music as well. I don’t know if you’re planning to visit Vermont but I would recommend visiting Stowe, home of Trapp family (sort of, they operate a resort there). I haven’t been there in a few years, but I expect art galleries, restaurants and the like are still there.
Just came across your channel while surfing youtube. Welcome to the U.S. I hope you have a fantastic 6 month road trip here. You were in our neck of the woods but I imagine you are no longer in New England right now. I saw you went to Acadia National Park and couldn't find camping and dealt with a lot of traffic. When my husband and I went to Acadia spur of the moment in the summer we stayed in a state park across from the island. So try to find state parks while you are traveling they often keep sites out of their reservation system just so they have sites for walk in (drive in) travelers. Also, when just doing a single day at a national park be sure to get there before 8 am in the morning and you'll beat the traffic and find prime parking spots.
Thank you for the warm welcome, although New England was a short trip it sure was a beautiful one, it had its own charm and feel to it.. but I love this about our travels we will find ourselves in places we will want to revisit because we didn’t get enough of it ☺️ we have slowly started to pick up on the camp sites in state parks, what a treat that has been!! And definitely good advice regarding the national park I can see that making a massive difference! Thank you for the advice and for watching ☺️
Of course the time you guys come is when we have one of the two rather abbreviated heat waves of this summer. Usually the high temperature during the summer is under 80 degrees. Very tolerable. I live in Littleton. Not too far from where you guys were in Lincoln.
We stayed land explored Littleton too a very cute town! I think we might have visited a brewery there too! Ohh it’s a shame because this heat has been killing us we did expect it to be hot just to so unbearably hot 🥵 we’ve managed some how!
@@demieverafter Yes, the breweries. When I moved here seven years ago there was only one, now there's at least three. And for a town of 5000 people, that's a lot of brewing. Don't know exactly where you are right now, but it's been pretty cool here now for awhile. You must be following the heat waves. (Maybe you should take an unexpected, random left turn and see if that shakes off whatever is stalking you.)
Us locals call Rte 112 from N. Conway to Lincoln the "Kanga (as in kangaroo) mangus (as in mango) highway. Dont' ask me why.... It's a New England thing! Safe travels!!
Wow, that place is very creepy!! New Hampshire would be much more beautiful than NY!! That place would be really refreshing for you and little Edie. The last time a wild Black bear killed a person in NH was in 1784. A couple of people died since messing around with caged bears but they really aren't very aggressive unless you intentionally try and piss them off. Obviously, accidents can happen but moose on road sides are much more of an issue.
Thank you so much for visiting the state I was born in and lived my whole life. The Live free or die State. I hope you come back and visit our rivers and forest again soon …. As we say in New Hampshire will leave a light on for you.
Such a beautiful state! And what a place to live I really didn’t want to leave it was so beautiful and the people were awesome too! We enjoyed reading the live free or die on the number plates!
NH is nice, but be careful driving around b/c drivers are not required to have insurance; so the lower echelons don't get it, and they're the ones likely to take you out. Speaking from experience.

I love your style of vlogging! SO fun and calm. I am also in NH going on camping trips. I didn't know about Stephen King's house... will be visiting that!!!! I dream about traveling with someone in a sprinter van like you are. You got a new sub!!
I'm from WI and ever so often I'd drive the country roads past Neil Gaiman's charming Victorian :)
Thank you for watching ☺️ Vermont was on the list but we changed plans unfortunately however fully plan on returning to Vermont in the fall one day!
That was a really good video. I hope that you went up the cog railway to the top of Mt Washington
Thank you!
Booooo...Hike the trails, stop polluting the air!
Try any hardware store, or maybe outdoor store, down there and ask for coyote spray.
Absolute essential when Hiking with a little dog!
👍🏻👍🏻
Great tip thank you I still need to get bear spray too!
Should have checked out Arethusa Falls not far from North Conway. Very easy walk to the falls and there is a hiking trail near by. Glad you liked NH!
Next time!
You should go a little further south and drive the Blue Ridge Parkway! You’ll also be able to see The Great Smokey Mountains National Park!
A good guess to where we went next 🥹
I love New Hampshire... reminds me of Luton.
I'd guess you were swimming up in the Evans Notch area, along 113. Nice area.
It was so beautiful such an incredible memory I just don’t get to do stuff like that in England!
0:44 You’re in Maine
Haaa! That drain scene was filmed in Canada, in BC in my town of New Westminster. I saw them filming it at 3rd Avenue and 3rd Street.
Oh wow what a treat to have seen them filming it! Creepy too haha
Us locals call Rte 112 from N. Conway to Lincoln the "Kanga (as in kangaroo) mangus (as in mango) highway. Dont' ask me why.... It's a New England thing! Safe travels!!
Good to know I keep getting it wrong but I know now 😅
wonderful! this area is my home!
Amazing! I love it there 😍
Im from mass. NH is my favorite place in the world❤🇺🇸
Do you have a favorite curry recipe? I live just north of Boston MA and am very happy to have found your channel!
Can’t believe the classic chicken curry I always use the same base for most curry’s and it always works a treat!
Wow, that place is very creepy!! New Hampshire would be much more beautiful than NY!! That place would be really refreshing for you and little Edie. Makes me smile to see you having such a good time!! What a glorious place for you on a hot day, Yes, live for the moment. The curry looks wonderful!! This trip is so amazing, the scenery is second to none. I am so glad you went on a hike, I miss simple things like that. Just had my 74th birthday (on the 2nd Aug) and and although I am limited in what I do, you make my heart sing when I think of all you are going to enjoy and the places you will take me along too. 1:30 am, better get to bed. I am looking forward to your next episode as always. I will be sending you an email tomorrow. Bless you both and the little fur baby. 😘❤👩🦽
Hey Annie, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY to you!! And what a privilege it is to get older each year did you have a nice birthday? I’m pleased you enjoyed the video, it really was a special one and I hope that shows I loved every second of New Hampshire I’m glad it worked out the way it is. Yikes I haven’t stayed up until 1.30am in a long time 😆 we’re suffering a little in the heat but we’re still having a great time ☺️ looking forward to catching up soon xx
I stumbled on your channel, if you are coming back up the mountains you should check out NEK Vermont, Lake Willoughby area, not far from the Canadian border. Be safe God Speed.
Definitely hope to check out Vermont some time!
Curry in a hurry, a beautiful end to a wonderful day ❤
I live in Vermont 😊 but work in vt nh maine. I worked in Conway alot last summer. Glad you enjoyed it. Did you go up mt Washington? You gotta get to northern maine to 😊 happy and safe travels
Unfortunately I wanted to hike Mt Washington but couldn’t as it was too hot on the days we were there and our van wasn’t allowed to drive it either so we missed out but hope to come back in fall some time and see it!
@@demieverafter take the cog railway 😊
@@350mack I loved the idea of this unfortunately they don’t allow pets and it was a tad to hot to leave Edie in the van by herself for hours when we were visiting, hope to hike it next time 😄
You should go to the Lake Placid area in the Adirondacks NY
That was my thought too when she said they could go to NY any time. There is much more to NY than just NYC.
You should also go to Letchworth State park. Great camping and the Grand Canyon of the east.
The water is refreshing? That water is FREEZING to the point of instant heart failure on its best day! 🤣🤣
Haha I thought it was the perfect temperature 😆 especially on a hot day. So refreshing!
That is why we live there ....
LFOD !
Shout outs to Maine. Don’t worry I see u ❤️🦞
🙌🏽
Greetings both , looks absolutely fantastic in New Hampshire , a good decision ... bloody Pennywise the clown ..horrible , stuff of nightmares !! ..as is Stephen Kings house , creepy to say the least ... watch out for bears !! , love from south luff ( that curry looked good )
Eyuuuup 👋 ahhhh it was an amazing week in New Hampshire, unforgettable! Haha knew you would be creeped out hope it doesn’t give you nightmares! Glad all is well in south Luff, we’re currently in Virginia 🙌🏽
So...yeah, where you were camping? I live 3.5 miles away...and work in Lincoln! 😂 🖕SEATTLE!!😂😂
In fact, that hike you did?. ..that's my commute every day...😂
Beautiful lady
Your little dog is so cute. Is she a fox terrier? ❤
Awwww she is the star of the show always she’s a Welsh terrier and she’s 6 years old ☺️🥹
I’m a big UA-cam fan follow a lot of people. I just found your page I subscribed and I’m thinking why would you want to come here you’re from England but you are in New England so I love your accent and I’m so glad I found you are you going to go to Massachusetts? If so you’ll have to hit Salem you’ll love that if you like scary stuff.
The last time a wild Black bear killed a person in NH was in 1784. A couple of people died since messing around with caged bears but they really aren't very aggressive unless you intentionally try and piss them off. Obviously, accidents can happen but moose on road sides are much more of an issue.
Hope you had time to try a Maine lobster in your travels.
I had so much lobster in eastearn Canada that I just didn’t want to even look at Lonster for a while!
If still in NH feel free to reach out.
Wow I didn’t know that we’re out of NH now but good to know when we go back !
🇬🇧🇺🇸👍💐🙂
☺️
I would keep your dog on a leash toO
Please make the writing bigger and outline it with back. Some of us older people can’t read what you wrote. 😂😂
Oh noooo I’m sorry I’ll bare that in mind next time 😆🤣
Good looking female your are.
Did Dave say not all Americans are a.....es. Why was that necessary.
The person does not know how to pronounce the Kanc properly. Look at how it is spelled. It’s Kanc a mau gus
lol you should have waited until October!!!! Next time
Schedule didn’t allow it this time but maybe another time! 🍁
Vermont and NH in October…. Nothing in the world like it
