A nice video by the two of u. Actually India was the first country to get access to British English. The early Indian educators pronounced it in the right way. After Independence Indians took the English syllables to a different level according to their convenience & distorted the pronunciation. It continues till now & no saviour can save them. The worst distortion of English is seen in the Northern part of India.I was amused to see some professors breaking the English language. It was an enjoyable clip Mal & Yugi. Great.
My hubby always use to correct me on my pronunciation after our marriage even on my tamil words.. naanum romba nalla ponna kettupen that was early stage of marriage😂 .. slowely i started learnt from him but now being here in singapore my kids started their part 2 (on english words) cucumber , environment, pasta etc...😂.throughly enjoyed watching this.

I love this! I pronounce most like Malani being a literature student with linguistics & phonetics and I can’t stand when someone says the other way, though I don’t react but react to my husband and he argues saying as far as the message gets conveyed, it’s enough!😆🤣

Hi guys....malini akka u r looking very different today... Nice but we are used to the other version...hence I had the feeling that I was watching someone else!!!!!🤣🤣 lipstick shade was nice..👍👍😍
Most Singaporeans copy American slang and mixing it with British slang and ends up with Singlish la 😀. It depends on how you pronounce the vowels in a word and absent letters in a word can be learned only by listening to the native English speaker. For example try pronouncing city names like Leicester (Lester), Edinburgh( Edinbarah) Keighley (Keethly), Warwickshire (Warikshire) etc. When I watch Tamil TV shows or movies it makes me cringe when I hear them say Happy BIRDAY.
Vocabulary, slang, style of languages differ from Areas. I don't think something is right and something wrong but we shouldn't do mistakes atleast in mother tongue. Languages are only for communication
Looks like Singaporeans are using American English and Indians using British English. How are these words pronounced " often" and "Schedule" in Singapore?
We in Spore are taught British English and the spelling too is British and American spelling differs. eg British spelling is spelt ' humour' n American spelling is 'humor'
Madam English is a very fluid language. The same letters take different sounds in different placements and unless exposed to the native speaker one doesnot know the way it is spoken. Takes les for example. You talked about Charles which should be pronounced as charls. Why the 'e' then. How do you say ' 'lest'. It's les + t and not ls +t While correct pronounciation is desirable it is not a fault when a non native speaker mis pronounces .we find it quaint when foreigners do it but are extremely critical of our own people.
Hummus (Chickpeas dish) The actual pronunciation is 'oo' sound for both 'u's. Not 'hamas'. There's an emphasis on the 'm' as well. So it is pronounced as it is.
Why are things silent prounce all the letters in the word. American speak American English British speak British English Indians speak three English American English,Indian engleesu,British English that is where the confusion begin.
Yes my dear I like you sooooooo much with the earlier lipstick ma...... do try ma.... but do see and decide for yourself malini......ask yugi or your little one......
