Jonathan has explained that each spectre is bound to the Raise Spectre gem. so you will have an entire quad tab of spectres. The big problem here is leveling these gems to 20.
You don't need to level gems anymore, they drop at certain uncut levels. So you could just buy a stack of LVL 20 uncuts now and make them spectre gems.
i assume you can unbind the specter from the gem so u only need so many specter gems as your gonna use different types of specters, so 1 to 2 gems will be enough
I'm a such a sucker for Minion classes in any game! It started with Diablo 2 and never stopped after ^^ I am excited like a kid on Christmas for POE 2 (And especially the Witch/Necro!) Much Love for making this video. Greetings from The Netherlands!
Raging spirits says on the skill gem, summons spirit on fire spell projectile hit. So you cast fireball with lmp, hit with 3 fireballs, you get 3 raging spirits. You have 6 fireballs, you get 5 raging spirits because of the limit.
magma orb, unleash, lmp. each bounce counts as area for that portion of the trigger, and they are projectiles that hit, so you get that too. first cast should give you near cap instantly. so you're only casting at the start of pack engagements.
Raging Spirits are sort of "triggered" by fire spells. 1 per hit for projectile and a number based on radius for aoe targetted spells (may not require an enemy to hit since that isn't indicated). If you are auto triggering fire spells then you would also auto summon these Raging Spirits but by default no, they won't just auto fly out from you without a button press. Raise Zombies last indefinitely until they perish. Unlike other reservation based minions they do not automatically respawn, you must summon new ones to replace them. There is no hard cap on Skeletons, they are purely limited by your Spirit reservation stat. We don't know how high you can stack Spirit but that's what determines the limit. Bind Spectre is essentially a pokeball, yes. I doubt there are other versions of the gem since each one will simply add it's bound creature to your list of spirit reservation summons. Skill gems are not "locked" to their classes. They are designed thematically around the classes, but as in POE1 any character can use any skill gem in POE2, so yes you can use any combination of minions you might want, aside from perhaps ascendency specific minions if those return.
So, summon empowered zombies, stack power charges, detonate zombies with arsonist at the end of empower duration, re summon zombies, i would assume minion bomba is fire damage so add SRS. seems neat.
My favorite part of all of this is the auto resurrecting minions. I'm hoping it's not just the skeletons. Also the specter rework sounds good. I hate the poe1 specters and AG. I refuse to play them.
I hope that at some point they make there a distinction between skeletons and beast minions when it comes to scaling. If there is no meaningful distinction between a wolf and a skeleton warrior outside of just their stats, I would just pick the higher number, if there were effects that only buff beasts or only buff skeletons - then the pick would be more build dependent.
I don't know if this was mentioned somewhere but skeletons seem to take up less spirit with gem level, I doubt the basic warrior will cost more than the mages and such. So early game we will probably want to focus on a single gem to get as many bodies out as possible and only worry about synergies when we get enough of the gem leveling items. Also any +X to gem level attributes will be almost obligatory for necromancers (if they are even in the game).
The new SRS text is a bit confusing. It shouldn't say "your fire spells will ALSO summon raging spirits" ... it should just say "your fire spells will summon raging spirits". The way it is written it sounds like there is another method to summon them but this reservation based buff makes it so any spell tagged with fire will summon them. Which means even flame wall. It's kind of funny how they flipped skeles and zombies from poe1 to poe2; zombies being temporary now. And with no way to make bodies, you pretty much have to depend on power charge sustain, but we've seen no skills that can do that (yet) right? At least during bossing (i.e. lacking bodies). The Monk can make power charges, so maybe there is a skill that can be yonked for the witch. Or maybe need some uniques. The skele choices are pretty cool because it will be a spirit budget thing ... for example (completely made up ignoring math): i can summon 6 arsonists, OR 3 arsonists and 3 snipers. Does that help? Like can i "detonate" the gas cloud from the snipers for big explosions/clear? We don't know yet but the permutations will be NUTS! Summon wolf is so freaking cool. My single favorite picture from poe2 press kits (actively my desktop right now) is a witch standing amongst an army of skeletons, holding an SRS skull in one hand and her other hand is resting on a firey wolf. Every single time I look at it, I think of how much I want to play that exact build.
Just a quick one, to say that Spectre in PoE 1 isn't QUITE as awkward as that, providing you also use a Desecrate spell. That will allow you to cast corpses, some of which will be the same type of corpse as the spectres you've already used.
I played zoo necro once in Synth league and hated the AI and squishiness. Only other minion build I've played is HoAg Jugg which is one of my favorite builds of all time. So not the biggest minion fan in the world. HOWEVER, I think minion witch and a monk will be my two main gameplay types in poe2. I'm hoping they make some cool interface for things like AG and spectres.
I'm never interested in minions builds in ARPGs, and way less in PoE because builds don't feels very minion focused, but this gems, the little QoL and such are very excited and for the first time I want to try the Witch and the minions as the first class. I will have a rough time on what class to choose on the first run when the early access drop
Should have done more research on the spectre gems in poe 2, most of what you said 'we don't know' has been confirmed. That any non unique monster can be a spectre, and spectres are bound to the gem
That's a given. We do not have any clue how the spectre gems scales damage nor do we know if there are different kinds of spectre gems similar to the skeleton gems. We also do not know if this has an impact on spectre banking or snapshotting. Essentially, we know f all about spectres right now.
Poe 1 sucked and is boring... If minion necro is a thing in PoE2 ( i only play minion necros in D4) and its actual minions like in D4 then ill try PoE2 but if theres no minions then its a hard pass.
Want me to deep dive skills and compare them between POE2 and POE1 based on what we know so far... let me know in the comments below :)
I think the changed gems could be interesting to compare. Stuff like the RS and SRS comparison you did
@@omegasybers1110 yeah I might do that vid tomorrow. Good suggestion

Necro Ascendancy will go SO HARD
I've been romancing necks for a quarter century, this is no question what I'll be focusing on for the first months.
Necromancer never dies.

When i started in PoE beta all those years ago, i played minion Witch, gotta be the same in PoE2 :)

I believe a unique wand with +3 to all spell gems was shown to exist.
Looking forward to creating my Firestorm - popcorn SRS necro 👌
I am looking forward to trying minions.
Same here man
summoner looking juicy
Wall of Flame should work pretty well for SRS as the wall will double dip for your ranged skeletons.
I reckon there will be alot of double dipping early on haha

Raging spirits is weird, it’s basically a buff (support) gem now that has to be used with fire spells.
lol this guy saying skeletal in two ways is throwing me off
If SRS is self cast at 5 per cast, that sacrifice/minion explode skill could be fucking nuts
SRS detonate dead without having to spam srs

There's also a skill called fortress now that looks awesome

I don't see minions working any differently from poe1 unless they actually did some real work on the AI controlling your minions.
Watch the witch gameplay man, it's significantly different
POE 2 will be a Epic Fail...you people fail to realise the reality that is shown.
can be because there is i think 80 or more % from poe 1 but in poe 2 harder alot so we will see what happend :D
