Yea totally understandable. We did have a bit of an audio issue with the stream recording this week, we got it all figured out for next time though! Hopefully it isn't too bad. Thanks for watching!
I'm so stoked bro. Hearing the passion and heart/soul about it makes me sold. U are a wise man. Can't wait to check it out. Gonna get a founders as soon as I'm able. Keep rocking brother. Keep being the ripple
The discussion on card packs being cumulative instead of swappable was most interesting to me. It feels like it can open a whole can of worms like dilluting the card pool to much (it's harder to see synergies for one particular pack when there's 200 cards in the pool), or powercreep like you discussed. Have you considered having a fixed number of packs per run, but instead of manually swapping them out, the swapping is done randomly and automatically before each run? I think this would mitigate many of the issues without much downside.
Yeah I can't help but think of Wildfrost, which is commonly criticized for this. Even though the larger pool of cards and charms isn't bad, the game is much easier with a smaller pool because the increased control and synergy.
Glad to see you're maturing as a studio. I very much welcome the new media practices, because it gives you more exposure through more content creators and stops racing with cloners. Plus, not having to do so much media all the time sounds like it would free more time for game development!
Super excited for game, always awesome to hear reynad talk about the design philosophy, game mechanics, studio challenges, etc. I think it would be awesome if the collectible economy included a way to see how many of the collectible are owned. eg: this collectible is 24/276
what a great video. I truly enjoyed every moment of it, except for the loud as f*ck music in the beginning. I'm actually getting excited for the game 😊Hope this get's recommended to me again once it's out - otherwise I'll probably forget... But once again: loved the positive chill energy and especially the clear statements. Like I feel like I know what I'm getting. Thanks to Reynad & Bazaar Team!
Just came across your game. It looks AWESOME and Unique, kinda like Roguelike hero builder then auto battler.. it looks sick. Cant wait for it to come out. I hope to see releases soon!
I dropped HS after un'goro and started playing MTG. I stopped with MTG and later Arena and am now playing and trying out board games and fixed card games. Also looking to try out some other TCGs.
Ive had some conversations with people and the nomenclature of the game modes comes up a lot. People seem to have such a strong emotion to the word ranked and they feel cheated out of progression and rewards when that mode is not easily accessible. But, like reynad said, it seems to just be about the nomenclature. In my opinion it would make sense to have normal and the other mode be named something like a tournament. Some kind of gathering of champions to compete for prizes, rather than "ranked" being the mode you grind for visual progression.
It's a little unfortunate that you had the vision for a deckbuilding game of this style and then after you announced it we've had a bunch of games of the style. Really excited to see your execution and will definitely be playing the closed beta
Very hyped about the game! The issue with the external launcher isn't so much that's it's not good or not working, it's more that people either won't try it out because it's not easily accessible from Steam or because they straight up might not know about the game since it won't show up in the Steam front page. Plus people are a bit more wary of games that are not on Steam overall, but I get the marketplace argument. I'll definitely give it a try either way, but I suggest you look into what Steam actually takes from your sales. It would really boost up the player base.
I just learned about The Bazaar and absorbed a ton of info yesterday alone. Man, this looks so promising. Got me hyped quite a bit. Any chance that there will be a PayPal purchase option soon? Can't get a founders pack now, which is a little disappointing.
Maybe Ranked and the mode where you earn the prizes should be separate modes so 3 different modes might be better casual, Ranked and Arena (or whatever they wanna call it) i feel like ranked should be more about grinding and climbing the ladder more than a special thing where you earn prices idk just an idea!
Do you think people that focus on the competitive side will feel limited with the ranked format? Some just want to grind to the best ranked. Does not personally affect me tbh
15:27 It kinda is if it doesn’t work on the Steam Deck (or my phone)… That’s the only place I game these days, but I can access pretty much any PC game I want from it I suppose I’ll end up having to boot into the Steam Deck’s Desktop mode and perform some Wine shenanigans in Linux just to get your game working for me during the closed Beta lol (I know you’ll have phone support eventually, but native Linux and/or Steam Deck would be nice for non-power users)
Feels a little bad backing this game in 2018 and not getting content similar to founders pack rewards of today. I know ill get 3x in game currency, but after waiting for over 6 years for the closed beta, theres nothing special to signify that other than a cheap lanyard that fell apart quickly.
Yeah I hope they at least give a title or something. I've given hundreds of dollars between the campaigns so the realization that that might not translate to much in game is really depressing
Hello, I'm trying to create a tempo account on playthebaazar to buy the founder's pack without success. It always shows the message 'Email is required,' as if I hadn't typed anything in the email box.
@@PlayTheBazaar that gets me to the create an account page where I can put in a username and password, but I get the message "Account creation failed. Please try again."
Stay strong Reynad, long time watcher and had a lot of similiar experiences with Covid and share a lot of your opinions, stay strong and enjoy the struggle brother!
@@wyrdplae8586 The music is from the original twitch VOD, Reynad was playing it on stream. He didn't notice that people were saying that it was too loud for a bit. It's much better after the first 20 minutes.
This game has some serious issues, with 31k damage and shield properties. insta .5 second Skyscraper kills, and properties with the pig guy. Its not okay... Same with the Rocket from aquatic ammo weapons. Having insta 1 second kills is a bad design. The small items are seriously underpowered when put up against insta crit/multi strike medium/large items.
Why can’t I get early access when I was an Indygogo founder? I got my merch… but I feel like you guys are hoping the people who participated in the fundraiser aren’t paying attention 😕
Doesn't he own an esport team? And has enough connections and income history to get investors . Yeah I just double-checked. He's the CEO of a massive extremely profitable esport team.
I’m sure he has. (As far as I remember) He’s openly criticized Super Auto Pets for copying his asynchronous online matchmaking he claims he and his team invented. He said in this video he wishes he didn’t reveal gameplay so early so devs couldn’t copy that as well. I assume he has negative feelings towards both those games.
@@rivia562 Surely I could just (hypothetically) claim that my team "invented" asynchronous online matchmaking a year before the Bazaar team did, meaning that both teams actually stole MY idea. Patents in gaming is a hilarious concept anyways. As iiLivingMeme said, trying to hold an idea for yourself alone is just greedy. Games won't even touch the concept of a Nemesis System because WB greedily patented the idea.
@@lost_pantheon You’re right about claiming something un-patented, but that’s the whole point of getting one. I’m sure IF he patented it he would’ve let other developers use it. I assume he just wanted credit. I don’t know the guy and my previous comment was what I remembered from an old video but may not be entirely accurate, especially considering I’m always high af.
Not sure why you value mac support over linux tbh, mac is a real pain to develop, costs money and requires special knowledge. Anyway - don't make a build for linux if you're not planning to support it long-term. A bad linux port is worse than no linux port. Linux Support is pretty easy if you throw a client on steam; steam will practically just handle it for you. If that's still not in the cards, as long as you're not using six different clients sending information to 25 different third party tracking servers and a kernel level anticheat, VMs will likely let linux users just run the game anyway.

I just learned about The Bazaar and absorbed a ton of info yesterday alone. Man, this looks so promising. Got me hyped quite a bit. Any chance that there will be a PayPal purchase option soon? Can't get a founders pack now, which is a little disappointing.
mega excited
Excited! Also, the music is a bit loud here, and your voice is a bit uncompressed. If you need an audio engineer let me know!
I recommend turning on the subtitles for those who are hard of hearing.
The game is gonna lauch for android and ios? Its ganna be in the same time (sorry for my bad english
Music stops at 20:25 - audio very clear after this point
Yea, sorry about the audio issues. We'll do better with the next one!
@@PlayTheBazaar it's all good! Video is still incredibly based
The Crypto item sounds hilarious 😂
Sounds like this games Ranked system is a bit like Heroic Brawl from Hearthstone
wanted to buy a founders pack but unfortunately the payment options are too restricted :(
Maybe Ranked and the mode where you earn the prizes should be separate modes so 3 different modes might be better casual, Ranked and Arena (or whatever they wanna call it) i feel like ranked should be more about grinding and climbing the ladder more than a special thing where you earn prices idk just an idea!
Do you think people that focus on the competitive side will feel limited with the ranked format? Some just want to grind to the best ranked. Does not personally affect me tbh
I COULD NOT REGISTER THE WEBSITE SAID ERROR TRY AGAIN LATER NOODLE
Is there gonna be a demo to play for the game ?
bazaarbarians
15:27 It kinda is if it doesn’t work on the Steam Deck (or my phone)… That’s the only place I game these days, but I can access pretty much any PC game I want from it
I suppose I’ll end up having to boot into the Steam Deck’s Desktop mode and perform some Wine shenanigans in Linux just to get your game working for me during the closed Beta lol
(I know you’ll have phone support eventually, but native Linux and/or Steam Deck would be nice for non-power users)
Feels a little bad backing this game in 2018 and not getting content similar to founders pack rewards of today. I know ill get 3x in game currency, but after waiting for over 6 years for the closed beta, theres nothing special to signify that other than a cheap lanyard that fell apart quickly.
wait this is the same game??? i thought it was scrapped since i stopped following reynad
Yeah I hope they at least give a title or something. I've given hundreds of dollars between the campaigns so the realization that that might not translate to much in game is really depressing
This is such bullshit. Go back and read the Indygogo - “early access”
Oh shit this is still happenimg ?!
did he talk about how the bazaar differentiates itself from other auto battlers? timestamp?
can you reupload this video without this music, thanks
Hello, I'm trying to create a tempo account on playthebaazar to buy the founder's pack without success. It always shows the message 'Email is required,' as if I hadn't typed anything in the email box.
Same. Something is broken. Tried Chrome and Edge. Tried with uBlock off. Not working.
We're looking into it asap! Big website upgrades coming in the near future, but the initial site update was buggier than we would like
@@nathan118 Try clicking continue instead of hitting the enter key. This is a bug that should be sorted soon
@@PlayTheBazaar that gets me to the create an account page where I can put in a username and password, but I get the message "Account creation failed. Please try again."
@@PlayTheBazaar still not working. :)
Stay strong Reynad, long time watcher and had a lot of similiar experiences with Covid and share a lot of your opinions, stay strong and enjoy the struggle brother!
How will Indigogo backers get early access to the game?
Could you re-upload this without fucked audio levels please?
Unless is baked into the capture obviously. I assume the music was added in post?
@@wyrdplae8586 The music is from the original twitch VOD, Reynad was playing it on stream. He didn't notice that people were saying that it was too loud for a bit. It's much better after the first 20 minutes.
@@aR0ttenPICKLE Yea all g. Managed to stick it out. Thanks fella :3
the music is way too loud compared to the talking lol
The game seems pretty similar to concepts like Backpack Battles?
Reynad began working on The Bazaar as a white dude and is coming out of the playtesting dungeon as a dwarf.
Every backer gets Beta access?
Almost unwatchable with that super loud background music
The wizard
Legit impossible to watch with the music xD
Please add PayPal to the Payment method :)
58:11 this is why Arena in Shadowverse is the absolute WORST. Lose your first match and feel shitty and tilted even if you win the other 4
Stop pretending that this is acard game xD. Its not a card game😂.
That does not mean, that this is a bad thing
Curious how he funded it
Venture backed. Its a question asked around the 1 hour mark
Doesn't he own an esport team? And has enough connections and income history to get investors .
Yeah I just double-checked. He's the CEO of a massive extremely profitable esport team.
Has Reynard heard of backpack battles?
I was thinking the same thing, seems pretty similar no?
@@rivia562 I definitely do not think his feelings are valid
@@lost_pantheon
You’re right about claiming something un-patented, but that’s the whole point of getting one.
Paying for ranked? Really…
So if the game tanks, will Reynad officially have to stfu?
