Paul McCartney plays intimate club in New York with Chad Smith, Andrew Watt & more!

During a performance by Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and producer Andrew Watt in the Hamptons on Tuesday night (August 20th), Paul McCartney surprised everyone by joining the band for a few special songs. McCartney hopped up on the small, intimate stage at at Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, New York, and joined in with Watt and Smith for a spirited rendition of the Beatles’ classic, “I Saw Her Standing There,” along with a rousing cover of Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World.”
If you’re wondering how this might have came about, Watt and McCartney have recently worked together professionally; with Andrew producing the Rolling Stones’ 2023 album, Hackney Diamonds, which featured a guest appearance by Sir Paul on “Bite My Head Off.”
