I was attending middle-school at Talent Junior High School located in Southern Oregon, population 1,500 back in the early 1970s and we had the most remarkable and memorable school assembly held inside the gym that was like no other either before that day or after that day. Even moving on to high-school, no other school assembly could even compare. Whomever the staff member was that scheduled Mr. Munden and the man with the Golden Eagle on the same day really out-performed for all of us who attended. The first guest was Bob Munden with his quick-draw exhibition and the second guest who I forget the name of had a Golden Eagle trained in the art of falconry that flew around the gym with a 4.5-foot wingspan and landed on the backboard mounted hoops of the basketball goals at each end of the court. Mr. Munden, totally amazed all of the youngsters and all of the staff present with his single action quick draw skills. He had a clock-timer, be broke balloons, and even put a paper cup on-top-of his hand to show us that his hand was actually that fast. When Mr. Munden was finished his demonstration, he kindly and patiently answered questions after which he dispelled some Hollywood myths. His response to the fastest draws presently in Hollywood were: #1 Jerry Lewis, #2 Sammy Davis Jr., #3 Clint Eastwood, #4 Glenn Ford, and he also added that #3 and #4 were almost a tie at that time. For better or for worse, Mr. Munden also mentioned that John Wayne or "The Duke" was likely the slowest quick-draw in Hollywood. Mr. Munden also addressed safety, he cautioned us all to not try this at home as all his gear was highly specialized, like the steel insert inside his gun holster as designed to safely handle and to deflect a .45 caliber misfire which otherwise would cause an accidental discharge or worse, a serious leg or a foot injury. He mentioned that someone who had tried this at home had blown out their knee-cap resulting in a life long disability. Mr. Munden was a professional.
Has it really been 28 years. I remember hearing on the radio of his passing. Sammy's face was always on tv when I was growing up. He was so cool and I miss him very much.
Dean holding Sammy saying "I'd like to thank the NAACP for this wonderful award",classy talented man black or white. He could do anything he put his mind to.
Interestingly, Jerry Lewis, was also one of the fastest quick draws in the entertainment business. But Jerry had acknowledged that his friend Sammy Davis, Jr. was much faster than he was. I once had the pleasure of meeting Sammy as a child when visiting a camera shop in Philadelphia. Sammy was also highly skilled in photography. He entertained the entire store, with some comedy antics before leaving.
He showed off his quick draw skills on the T.V. show "The Rifleman" as well. He appeared in two episodes titled "Two Ounces of Tin" and "The Most Amazing Man".
omg i saw all his movie but didnt know he as into fast draw and loving single action revolver , that colt of his is so epic looking i want one of those!!!
SAMMY WAS COOL , I ALWAYS LOVED HIM IN WESTERNS AND THE MUSIC WORLD A VERY GOOD ACTOR HE WAS AFTER DECADES OF HIS PASSING WHEN I HEAR HIS NAME OR THINK OF THE RAT PACK OR DEAN I ALWAYS THINK OF SAMMY AND ALWAYS PUT HIM BEFORE DEAN FRANK OR JOEY.
Laurence Lance you almost made tear drops come from my eyes. I wouldn’t have wanted to live at any other time in history. Thanks! My fathers name was Lawrence! We hunted fished, watched the RIFLEMAN, BONANZA, WYATT EARP, WILD KINGDOM. MY BEST FRIEND EVER DIED WHEN I WAS 13, AND GROWING UP WITHOUT HIM WAS AWFUL. They last thing he taught me was to tie a Windsor knot. My first day on R.O.T.C I couldn’t get it right I screamed for my mothers help she couldn’t. I wiped the tears away and somehow I tied it. Never to forget again. He was a shooter and taught me. He was the NRA AND I AM TOO.
Robin and the 7 Hoods. One of my top 3 favorite musical numbers of all time. He didn't use an SAA, he used a pair of what looked to be stag gripped snubnoses.
Notice the difference in these experts as compared to Pawn Star experts? The Pawn Star experts handle the "rare items" with out gloves. I know that the oils in the hands can contaminate special light bulbs and highly finished mechanical seals and cause premature failure. So do the curators at museums but not at pawn shops.
American Spirit is absolutely correct, and that is how the flag is displayed every day in this room of the Museum. During rearrangement of furniture for this filming, it apparently got displaced. Sometimes that can happen if both flags will not be in the frame for one of the segments, but we want the US flag to show on camera. That may have been the case here - it may have been moved for a previous segment but not moved back for this segment. Thank you for calling it to our attention, and we apologize for the error.
I hate discrimination. Unless it the socialist demacrat party. I took an oath to protect the Constitution and the United States of America against all enemies foreign and domestic so help me God and my oath never expired after I got out of the service. They want to ban all guns and freedom will be long gone.
Sammy was such a great entertainer. Improv, song , dance, gun play. They just don't make entertainers like him anymore.

Bob munden trained al lot of actors back in the days, he said sammy davis jr. was the second fastest draw in hollywood, right behind jerry lewis.
gretchen bockenfeld Are you kidding me. Jerry Lewis with a gun in his hand! The history is as great as the firearms! Who knew!
He showed off his quick draw skills on the T.V. show "The Rifleman" as well. He appeared in two episodes titled "Two Ounces of Tin" and "The Most Amazing Man".
He also demonstrated his ability with the gun in the film "Salt and Pepper"(or, maybe, the sequel, "One More Time") as part of his stage act
He was definitely the most talented member of the Rat Pack.
Saw Mr. Davis him on two episodes of The Rifleman and one episode of the Wild Wild West.
omg i saw all his movie but didnt know he as into fast draw and loving single action revolver , that colt of his is so epic looking i want one of those!!!

Quick Draw McGraw 💥🔫 Sammy Davis Jr 🤠
Beautiful piece and nice Ojala holster
Let me tell you what Mr. Davis had an eye for beauty.
I got that...;)
Only one though.
Me too, lol.
Given he had only one working eye, you're correct.
Knocked out by a knobless gearshift lever as a child.Amazing man.
Somehow it makes me sad. A deadman's gun. Sure miss Sammy!

Who made the leatter rig?
Is it me or does he look like the toy collector from toy story
The candy man can.
I must have missed how they came into possession of his rig.
Didn’t he tap dance on a roulette table whilst firing the gun.
In a movie?
Robin and the 7 Hoods.
One of my top 3 favorite musical numbers of all time. He didn't use an SAA, he used a pair of what looked to be stag gripped snubnoses.
@@MangetsuSAMURAI Yup Smith and Wesson 38 detective specials. Awesome in a custom vest!
Joe Bowman taught Sammy Davis jr! The art of fast draw! Robert Duval ask joe Bowman for help with the colt walker in lonesome dove.

THE AMERICAN FLAG IS IN WRONG PLACE. LOOKING AT IT SHOULD BE ON YOUR LEFT SIDE ,THAT IS THE POSITION OF honor

Jerry Lewis was the fastest not Sammy Davis
Possum Williams x they just said in the video that SAMMY DAVIS JR. was FASTER than Jerry Lewis. The black guy was faster.
