fyi. La Jetee is an ode to Vertigo. The director, Chris Marker, was in love with Vertigo, so much so he wanted to be transported and live in it. You can kind of see La Jetee as a metaphor for film transporting you into another world...The lights go out, it goes dark and then you enter a different reality. And 12 Monkeys is based on La Jetee, so Terry Gilliam surely knew Marker's reference and love of Vertigo...homage and respect paid. If you already knew this three cheers for you.
