Only hours to get a NY recap, but west coast teams get put off for days or forgotten. Cmon
Well, it's the 162 game record. It's only a tie with Babe Ruth for the 154 game record. Nothing is more absurd than thinking that length of season doesn't count. Can you imagine?
Last time I ordered a shirt from yall the graphic was not centered
Did Maris play in 154 games or 162 games?
Congrats Judge . I hope you sign with your home team! Come home .
That Judge and Mom breakdown with the triple split of him solo, her solo, and the field shot showing where she was sitting was pure poetry. Jomboy...you've outdone yourself with this one 👏
For about a minute and a half there I didn't hate the yankees. Amazing.
I agree^😂coming from a diehard Boston fan
I legit cried watching this. LoL. I’m all kinds of emotional over this amazing accomplishment.
Eat shyt ESPN. Yall want storylines? Yall talk about trying to bring baseball back? And its on Jomboy to bring us this mother-son multi-angle breakdown?
Made me tear up, can’t even lie!
The dual shots of Judge and his mom, breaking down how they're both waiting for confirmation then making eye contact, that's what sets Jomboy apart, legendary stuff.
Nerd
It's baseball history. I'm no Yankees fan, but you gotta love it and respect it. I love what Judge said after the game about the guy who caught the ball: "It's a souvenir for a fan... they made a great catch out there and they have every right to it." What a class act.
@Baracka Flaka Flame he’s even married to a former Bachelor contestant
I had a lot of friends at this series. They all post pictures from the game.
@@MoonlightGrahamCracker Yeah, Judge knows that ball is worth life-changing money. You can sell it, give all the cash to a financial advisor, and live off the dividends for the rest of your life. (It’s already valued at several million dollars.)
It’d be a completely different story if it was a player’s first career HR. I’d say “sure, how about some tickets and an autographed bat in return”?
@@MoonlightGrahamCracker Who's said that? Which players have guilted fans into giving up their home run ball? Damn. Sorry... I'm assuming you know. If you do, I'd be really interested to know.
The 7th-most home runs ever hit in a season. History!
My mom passed away in July. This made me cry. Beautiful moment of humanity. Loved this.
Love ya, man. I can't even imagine what you're going through.
Mom plays it super cool. The definition of "act like you've done it before". Congrats to mom... and her kid.
Thinking "I've seen this 62 times this season already" :')
She seemed to be halfway between shock and relief.
The NFL can learn something from him and his family. Class acts.
Dad was in line for nachos apparently
The mom-son breakdown brought a few tears to my eyes. Beautiful moment
You realize they’re just a normal Mom and son facing enormous pressure in the eyes of the world, when you see the simultaneous sigh of relief for each other.
I got tears too...even the original replay.
Like wise DCS! Cheers
same
"That's my boy there! And no asterisks, no PEDs...I taught him right" 😊
Love the Judge and mom moment. Can’t help but feel really happy for them both. Also the “yeah it’s worth 6 million dollars but I got my nachos” made me bust out laughing
Honestly, who's to say we wouldn't all respond the same way. Something about nachos short circuits our brains
Nachos > Brinks truck
It turns out the people in those seats were insanely wealthy already. The guy who caught it is a VP at an investment firm
@@suburbanindie might not be there much longer with that 6mil ball
@@_JamesBrown the company is worth over $170B 😂 he could've left a long time ago but when you're in that position why would you leave all that wealth, he's not going anywhere
Honestly congrats to this man. Even though I'm a mets fan who's been conditioned to hate anybody in a Yankee uniform I can't hate this dude. Such a class act and an amazing player having the best offensive season I've ever witnessed. Congrats to Aaron and I'm happy to say I have been a witness to the true single season home run champion.
Thanks, citizen. I'm a lifetime Yankees fan, but when Tom Seaver won his 300th at Yankee Stadium, and the Yankees announcers let Lindsey Nelson call the 9th inning... I got tears for Tom Terrific.
👍👍👍

Why? Hes a juice head. You do realize MLB didnt drug test all of last year right? For christ sake Verlander has an ERA under 2 and is 39 years old! All these guys are juiced to the gills. Too bad the MLB wont expose it
@@usernotfound904 I don't think it would do the MLB good to hide that information n not drug test the athletes who had incredible years
Too much public curiosity on the subject
Find it incredibly unlikely that Judge isn’t on a PED of some kind, as with most guys in the bigs
The guy sitting down is just STUNNED. I wouldn’t know how to react if I was that close to catching a million dollar baseball.

Jomboy singlehandedly roped me back into baseball fandom. He's a legend. He also caught the Astros cheating. HE'S the dude who broke it open
The mom to Judge breakdown had me in tears man! Beautiful work.
Not a Yankees fan, but very cool, a once in a lifetime moment and sharing the moment with his mom was so important to him. 👍
Bro if I made eye contact with my mom after a moment like this, I would crumble. What an amazing moment for him and his family.
When I was coaching youth baseball when a kid got hurt, “ don’t look at your mom”....
On top of everything that makes this such a great moment…
0:33 - He did it with one of the most beautiful swings I’ve ever seen.
This moment is a perfect piece of Art.
I was there! Awesome moment and cool part of baseball history. The stadium was buzzing for 4 more innings 🌩🔌🎉Happy for Judge, he seems like such a great guy.
Man this was cool. Didn't know when I would see this after the steroid era. Even as a Cleveland fan, it's cool. What's cool is how even professional ball players are looking for their parents after a big play. Every time I did something good in a game I would do the same thing. Really cool man.
I was in Cleveland when Arod was sitting on 599. He didn’t get it that night but your fan base was super cool. Talked baseball, had a few light hearted jabs back and forth.
So you're trying to say it was cool?
Yeah I'm no yankees fan but I'm glad to see someone who doesn't look like a roided-up body-builder hold a HR record. Aside from being 7'13" tall Judge looks like he could have played in the 1920s
Right, just had to wait until JUICED BALL era. 🤭

Aaron Judge's mom is as much of an MVP as he is in this clip. Wonderful and professional reaction from both of them!
He gave he the 61st homer ball that tied the record
JomBoy did great on how he highlighted Judge and his moms relationship. That was awesome.

What an amazing moment in time! I could watch hours more of this breakdown. Couldn’t have happened to a better guy.
The best part of these breakdowns is your analysis of the high fives. It makes the videos that much better
Some breakdowns we gotta wait all week for, unless it’s a Yankees one. Congratulations to Judge, and LOL at the guy who jumped over the rails.
He’s the real Jumpman
There was no jumping, only falling 😆
Yankees are the best that is why ahah
Hope that guy's ok, I remember when that dude at the Rangers game went over the rail and died like 10 years ago.
@@scullystie4389 It's not a long drop there... maybe 10ft. He jumped down thinking the ball would land there instead of the crowd.
The first three minutes of this breakdown was so wholesome
You are an integral part of contemporary sports coverage.
Amazing how similar Aaron's reaction is to his mom's. You love to see it.
A Jomboy breakdown of my reaction to an awesome moment is now on my bucket list
7:34 the post-swing slow-turn WITH the camera is simultaneously the funniest and the saddest thing I've seen on this channel.
Thank you, Jomboy.
That mom is a straight up G. Sat there cool as ice waiting for it to go out first..shes been before. She consucted herself as professional as the actual professionals. Props to mom for being an absolute G on how she handle this
What an absolutely beautiful breakdown, gave me goosebumps watching the split screen with Judge and mom
Jom’s appreciation for good high fives is my favorite thing ever
What a season. Across the entire league. I don't think we'll see another one like this for a long time. It feels like every team in the playoffs belongs there with all of their magical moments. From the Guardians being the youngest team in baseball, to Judge breaking the AL home run record in his contract year, to the Mariners breaking their 21 year playoff drought, to Pujols hitting 700 and so much more. I could go on about this season and the magic its felt like it has had. Good luck to everyone in the playoffs, lets have an October to remember!
Bro I still can’t get over the Indians name change
@@kineticedge9680 no one cares

@@ericschminke8233 as someone who's been a fan of the team my entire life, has friends and family who are also fans for their entire lives, not a single one of us gave a shit lol you're probably just soft
@owningall I'm soft? Let's see how "soft" I am.
I was a fan of a baseball team that had a whopping 5 winning seasons over the last 34 years they played at Municipal Stadium. (1965, 1968, 1976, 1981 (By all of 1 game.), and 1986). I was a fan of a team that, during that 34-year period, finished last 8 times and finished higher than 4th just once. (3rd in 1968) The Indians didn't see post-season play for 40 years, so cheer up Mariners fans. It could've been much worse.
If you, your family, and friends like "Guardians" then that's your right, but I don't, and neither do countless others. I hate political "correctness" and always will.
If anyone's "soft", it's the hypersensitive p. c. fanatics who have tried to siphon the fun and enjoyment out of life for countless people who meant no harm and have left comparable numbers on edge for fear that even a compliment will be considered "insensitive".
The 2022 baseball season produced several wonderful memories. Perhaps chief among them was Aaron Judge smacking an AL record-setting 62 homeruns. I'm very happy for Judge, and I'm no Yankees fan.
This post is much longer than planned, so I must sign off.
Great job!! I’m a Red Sox fan but wanted Judge to get this record. You starting with the Mom reaction was brilliant.

Aaron deserves the MVP. With pitchers using technology to recreate 99 MPH two seamers and sinkers, and In a year where offense is down league wide (to the point that MLB is changing the rules to input more offense), Aaron puts a 60+ HR season and is that much ahead of the league in almost every offensive category, including the new-ish nerdy ones. He has put the team on his back for the last two months.
F that. I hate that we live in this era where every single sport is trying to inject offense.
Agree but there are people out there who literally think Ohtani should get it every year because of the two way game. Vladdy got hosed last year and it wouldn't shock me to see judge lose it, even if he wins the triple crown. H should be going for his scond MVP but there is anti Yankees bias as well. Ohtani stole ROY in 2018 even though he missed hallf of the season, beting out Andujar and Gleybor. Mattingly was hosed in 1986 because they gave it to Clemons, a pitcher. yt in 1978 wouldn't give it to Guidrey because he's a pitcher and they had the Cy Young. Rice won it in 1978. Yankees aren't loved by the national media.
Hands down should be mvp. What an accomplishment. If you have ever seen the movie they did about Roger Maris, “61”, you’ll appreciate it even more.
@@veritasinvicta8128 Tbf to Ohtani he is a statistical anomaly when it comes to the sport being that only 1 player has played how he does so scaling his value to a team is much harder than just scaling how valuable a pitcher or position player is. His value is usually equated as two different players rather than just one so until it is normalized and we have an idea of how valuable he really is(by putting him on a good team or by developing stats for it) he will prob have an mvp case every year.
@@veritasinvicta8128 Ohtani deserved it last year, not this year

A truly great moment in baseball history, captured beautifully.
The guy who jumped got ejected and as of that night no trespass was issued for future games. Also as of that night Corey, the guy who caught the ball, still has it and the highest offer of the night was $2 million from an authenticated house or something. The guy who jump was not injured.

This is the most wholesome sports breakdown I've ever seen
You can easily tell how kind-hearted Judge's parents are, especially his mother. They raised him well and what it means to be humble despite the world looking at you. Might be one of the greatest adoption in sports history.

Omg you made this breakdown fast
guy jumping down took a gamble.. he was too far to make the catch .. it didnt pay off .. but it was a good move anyway i think..
Doubt they'd even let him keep the ball. They'd just take the ball and kick him out.
I think that whole row was part of a group.
@@locotx215 that would be awesome .. make a deal before hamd to split whatever profits can be made if any happen to catch it..
The team probably would have had the right to take the ball if he caught it since he was breaking the law
@@Paul-ew5st I agree. If the fan who jumped out of his seat onto part of the field he wasn't supposed to be on would mean the ballpark would get the ball and not this crazy fan who jumped. 106-56! Know what this is? Oh that's right its the Astros American League best record. You can say all your want to about how great your Yankees are but they play second fiddle to my Astros. Also my Astros went 5-2 against the Yankees and held them to a low low .151 average in those seven games. And my Astros have had great postseason success against the Yankees as well and if they were to meet up again this postseason, I feel my Astros would eliminate the Yankees once again. Astros had the best ERA in the American League with a 2.90 ERA and a best bullpen ERA of 2.80. Yankees over all pitching had an ERA of 3.30 and a bullpen ERA of 2.97. So once again my Astros are the superior pitching staff over the Yankees. And our postseason pitching will once again be dominate like it has been in years past. Yankees wont get their 28th World Series Championship this season. GO ASTROS GO!!!!!
you should do more breakdowns on ohtani. not only does he rake on both sides of the plate, but he also does many funny faces and just has fun on the field in general. great content
Agree. Ohtani's 2022 season will go down as one of the greatest all-time for someone who didn't win MVP. On top of that he is an extremely classy competitor whose love for the game is infectious. Btw he doesn't rake "on both sides of the plate" since he's not a switch hitter, but he does dominate on both sides of the ball as a hitter and pitcher.
Bro I was in tears by the end of this video. Had me belly laughing 😂😂😂
That is so wholesome, anyone who has played sports and had their parents support them like this get the feeling. Love to see it
It’s crazy that those are his adopted parents. He is such a class act. That means that they raised him right despite him starting life like that. They gave him all the love and support needed and showed that being a parent is more than just blood. Just a great story all around imo. Very heartwarming.
Most stories you hear are the horror stories. So it’s nice to see the other side of it. The success stories
I'm so happy for Judge... Couldn't have happened to a better dude. I hope we (Dodgers) get the chance to play them in the World Series. I think that would be insanely exciting.
