    If there is dinosaur fish or griffin fish in the world, Japanese will find them and made sashimi out of them. I'm a big fan of sashimi, I'll have a shot on this fish. Great video.

    In French polynesia , this fish is named "Ume" and it's very tasty when it's cooked on the BBQ . You should try it but first make sure that it's fresh.

    This is the no.1 grilled fish in Palawan Philippines. They called it Suran 😊

    This fish is a delicacy in the Pacific, especially Fiji and the "wet cement" in its tummy is actually fat... boiled with local greens and coconut sauce makes it divine!

    In the Philippines, we call this one "sungayan" or "gangis" in the bisaya. In Hawai they call this one Kala. One of the finest fish ever. Lots of fat and white meat is great. We preferred to cook this one grilled. The fish is delicious, but, wait until you tasted the small intestines, looks gross but its very very tasty.

    The whites stuff around the gut are all fat! In 🇵🇼 Palau the best time to catch this fish is summer time. We usually go later at night or early morning cuz the fish intestines are empty so we don’t have to take it out we just cut it up if we want soup or just put the whole thing on the grill do BBQ. For BBQ we just get a piece of meat with gut which is surrounded by fat dip it in a sauce which made of soysauce, lemon, onion, carlic , black pepper and fresh hot pepper.. ....
    If you grew up eating fish you gonna love it....
    PS. The guy is the best part of this fish!

    We call this fish ‘kala’ in Hawai’i. It’s very ‘reef’ tasting as it eats a lot algae or seaweed. People here rarely eat it as sashimi mainstay just throwing it on the grill and picking the meat off. Interesting to see it served as sash...

    회는 쫄깃하기보다는 부드러울것같아요.
    그리고 첨드시는 구이 부위는 굉장히 기름이 자글자글한게 고소하면서 감칠맛이 날것같아요.
    마지막 튀김은 정말 침샘을 폭발시키는 수준이네요.
    최근 식욕이 왕성해서 볼때마다 약간의 억제는 되지만
    때론 자신을 못이길 정도네요.

    I needed to learn how to clean this fish. We call it “Tataga” on Saipan. Grilled right before the intestines explode, peel off its shark like skin and served with Clear Finadenè. Never had it raw, but should be magnificent using the Zukè method after smoking it with Binchotan. 🤔

    His knife is high carbon steel, and it does rust but holds the best edge. The skin of that fish is tougher than your shoes. His knife is not dull.

    We use to grill unicorn fish w/o removing the organs coz the fat of the fish's belly is the most delicious part ..we eat it w/our hands served w/ just plain calamansi juice kikoman soy sauce and chopped chili pepper and sided w/steaming hot rice along the beach and sweet Zambales golden mango after dinner

    The guts are extremely fatty and it was a waste to throw it away. Best way to have this fish is soup, grilled (whole and ungutted, the fat helps keep the inside moist) , or smoked. I'll try deep fried like in this video, looks good.

      Isn't the gallbladder a problem when cooking this fish ungutted? I can't imagine the fish tasting good if it burst while cooking and spilled bile everywhere.
