Crazy as this sounds, I like the pretty deep message of this movie: you can't have love until you become a fully rounded out human being, and you don't have to give up your edge or ambition in order to love and be loved by your equal, and you should never settle for less than that.
They don't have the raw sexual energy that Wallace Berry & Marie Dressler shared on the screen in the 30s, but Renee & Ewan really do burn up the screen in their own way ! Hubba hubba !! 🙂

She wasn't taken particularly seriously as an actor either. She was fantastic in this, it's just a shame it didn't hit like it should have. XD I think he and Jonny Lee Miller wrote the song, and in the scene in the movie it was improvised! Also I might be remembering this wrong but I thought he and Cameron Diaz sang and danced a number together in A Life Less Ordinary.
oh oh!!! I forgot to mention my fave movie of all time, Velvet Goldmine, in which Ewan McGregor plays a glam rock singer! :) Yet another different style of singing but damn, he really gives his all and I'm convinced that his character is real.
He sang at the end of Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio. It’s called “Better Tomorrows”, and it’s kinda like that films answer to classic Disney songs like “When you wish upon a star”, and it’s really good!
